Anderson is 5-35 in their last 40 games and 2-12 from last season to current with their only 2 wins being over winless teams with 0-10 records
Grant Co has 2 wins this season against teams that are basically winless. That brought them to 3-21 dating back two seasons with their only win prior in the past 2 seasons being over a winless south Laurel team.

Are we going to keep beating the schedule in the head every week? Yea it’s been made a point the schedule isn’t all that tough yadda yadda we know we know.. everyone is wrong tho when your saying we’re playing 1A teams this is only the second game where we are facing a 1A team and Paris is a quality team to be 1A. Every one will see that by the end of the year when they finish where ever they do and only have 2-3 losses on the year. Yea Grant isn’t anything special but they have a good size team as did Anderson County both of those teams were bigger than we were. We’re no 5A school and only play about 18-19 kids on Varsity. We can’t afford to loose any players and expect to compete for district and you can say what you want we will be competing for the district and everyone will get to see that starting next week going forward. No reason we can’t make a run in the playoffs who are we supposed to be afraid of out of the East? No one we won’t be playing in our district. Our offense is really that good say what you want but Friday nights we will just keep doing what we are and that’s putting W’s on the right column of khsaa website. Rockcastle hasn’t had an offense this good at passing ever. We have the best QB to play at the Rock and 3 of the best WRs with speed to go right along with it. If we had our typical defense we wouldn’t even be having this type of conversation but they are getting better and the ceiling is high for this team bc our offense can always keep us in games by scoring the way we can. Just watch some film on them it’s that simple.

Just watch some film on them it’s that simple.I don’t mind the schedule, and understand the reasoning behind it. I was just saying let’s not pretend it is something it’s not and concede the point that the first 3 games were just warm up type games, no different than what lots of college teams do. Rockcastle has a tough district and is reviving a program. Also that schedule was likely made before the additions to the team. Scheduling winnable games is important when program building and the addition of Warren at QB was a game changer. Any time you can add a QB if his abilities in with the other pieces they already had it opens the offense up to be very explosive. These next 3 games are good ones and will be the test to see if Rockcastle has the team to compete for a district title and/or make a playoff run.

I would personally comment of half of the ridiculous posts in this thread but i’ll just make a list of my would be points…
1. Rocks schedule is horrific, there’s no other way to describe it, they are 4-0 and the RPI has them at 15th in 3A because of the horrible teams they’ve played.
2. Paris would lose to every team in 5A district 8 with the exception of HC in horrible fashion. Most likely running clock to every other team. They lose to whitley, they get stomped by Bell, They get stomped by clay, and will most likely get stomped in this game. Look at the teams paris has played and tell me that they are something. Prob a third round playoff team in 1A but is 60 points behind Pikeville and raceland. So please stop with the “nobody in our district plays a team like paris” Please
3. Rock should have the stats that shine bright, they have played cupcakes and cupcake defenses. Pineville is 0-4, and someone commented the stats on the other teams. Warren is a great QB and prob is the best QB in rock for a while, but he’s the third best in the district.
4. I was in support of the schedule at first, but after really looking into it, it’s shameful. Played very well the worst team in 5A, winless 1A team, a team who couldn’t field enough players, a 4A team that loses to holy cross, and paris who last season was a mid average 1A school who lost to pineville in a running clock. I mean i get the fact of let’s play to win every game, but literally it’s pointless to play teams that some middle schools could beat. Play a madison central, or a perry, or a whitley, or a north laurel, or someone who you can beat and improve the RPI cause it’s up in class and they will compete to go .500.
5. we have played 4 games calpreps is useless until week 7 at least. That goes for anyone who posts calpreps scores. And calpreps along with maxpreps does not account for Kentucky near as much as other states because most of the accurate information is on riherds. So computers get the wrong input 90 percent of the time.

I do understand trying to rebuild a long down program but I think they went too soft on the schedule. Can't change that now and all you can do is win the games you have but I think you are forgetting about the two Rock teams that made it to the state finals. Especially the 2001 team. They put up big points on much better teams than this team is playing.

O.K. to be fair, here is Cal Preps on a nuetral field.
To be fair I siad Eastern Kentucky 5A teams
Pulaski and Southwestern is more central Kentucky but both would beat Paris.North Laurel would be interesting. That be a toss up but give the edge to the jags Whitley is 4A now. I think Paris has the better team in that match up and I'll even throw in Perry central to that list. Paris is 3+TD South Laurel, Harlan County. I do think Paris is capable of beating Rock. They are a Solid football team that's no knocks to any team above.

To be honest the 2001 Rock team didn't see anyone until the playoffs and beat Ashland and Cov Cath. This year's team isn't the 2001 team. I haven't seen anyone from rock even say they was even state contenders. But rockcastle has been dogged all summer. Been counted out before the season ever started. Even before the schedule was released. Which I didn't understand much because injurys dismantled Rockcastle Early in 2022. It really hurt when Caleb went down 3rd game of the year. It changed the complicity of the team and couldn't find there identity the rest of the year. Everyone asked what he would do now that Warren was at QB. And Celeb has turned into the dangerous player on the field. Yes the schedule soft early. But with how last year turned out needed the morale up. There is a connection with Rockcastle and Anderson admins both came together to start the 127 conference for the feeder programs that's how that game came about. Pineville was scheduled after plans with Madison Southern fell through but I look for that game to get started back soon. Pineville wasn't terrible last year but can't seem to get it going this year. I think everyone is undervaluing Pairs. They have speed with some big guys up front. This district goes through Bell. But I wouldn't write there name on the trophy just yet.

We have made it thru the cup cake games and now every week gets harder no one can argue against that point. We are exactly where we are suppose to be at 4-0 now it’s time to show everyone that this team can play and is better than everyone is saying. I personally don t care what anyone says if you think Paris isn’t a formidable team then you don’t know football. They are a solid team and if Rock gets caught looking they can and will score on us. I hope Rock comes out and does what they are capable of doing and just keep their foot down and don’t let up.
If you go back and look at those 2001 and 2002 seasons where rock scored over 700 points one year and over 600 the next it was the same type of schedule we play now those teams were a combine of like 6-25 or something in regular season yet they still made state championship game. Not even saying this is the same type of team bc things are completely different now and the times we are living and teams aren’t as mean as they were back then however no reason this team isn’t capable of getting hot in the playoffs and making a run at it. We heard the same old crap during those days that playing the type of teams we play doesn’t get you to the carpet (famous line after the win against cov catholic) but it never stopped us before. Rock certainly has the offense and it’s more explosive than many people think. Starting this week I believe everyone will see it.

FWIW Paris would put a running clock on South Laurel and Harlan County. I would imagine that given Clay County's scores they also beat Clay.
Now the million dollar question .... If Paris wins this game does it say more about Paris or Rock?

Yea I'm not sure. I went to the Paris Hazard game. Paris had 3 TD's called back and more penalty yards than hazard had offensive yards. To me it wasn't really a close game. Paris physically dominated Hazard on both sides.
Now something tells me you were upset by comments because you think Paris who has given up 24 pts all year gives up 60 to Clay who couldn't put up 60 against anyone else on their combined 2-15 schedule? LOL

Me, pjdoug and 64SUR would give up fewer than 24 points vs the teams Paris beat. We will find out how good Paris is in a few weeks.

Again ... and maybe you're seeing something I'm not here.
Pineville - 58
Harlan - 46
Williamsburg - 44
Harlan Co. - 36
That's 3 bottom half 1a teams and a team that has lost to a team that Paris has played. Clay hasn't scored 60 against any of them. What would make you think they would score 60 against Paris?
I'm not a Paris guy, I watched them play 1 game, against Hazard. I'm just using logic here.
