I think YES ding ding ding; and he saw the “handwriting on the wall”. He is a smart guy and a winner!!!
Same people are still buying votes in Breathitt County now that we’re thirty years ago. But somebody with enough power to do something about it decided that Arch had to go; and anyone that faired well during his regime was to be punished, as well. That clown Hammond puppet corrupt crook was was than Arch ever was; even going after people with minimum wage para positions! Breathitt has been a mess for YEARS.

I see shorty taking kyle’s job and handing the ball off to his three up coming boys- I think that answers the daddy ball comment. I could be wrong though. Might be all the politics from the lumberjack up to high school across all sports in BC. Sad times. David and johnsons with the funds. Hollon’s transferring to PCC back to bc as long as he was the HFB. Shorty coaching because he has three boys coming up.
Program is a train wreck atm. Zero reason to have 30+ penalties in a game (what was the total play count) !
*zero disrespect to any of the players, they work hard*
Be honest with your self and answer this one single simple question:
why do you think Coach Holcomb left the only job he had ever had and a place where the stadium already bore his name while still active as a coach?
…cause his best friend and strongest person in the county got put behind bars for buying votes (which even more makes my point). I’m sure he got a raise at LCC. That’s why he left..
I think personally think hilton should come on back up from TN and rescue the program again like he has done before. I’m sure his wife would like to be back home after 40 years following him around.
Would be perfect fit with power I shorty wants to run.

They are losing players to Hazard. And surrounding schools. For this exact reason.
That’s interesting thought process, since……Breathitt beat Hazard this year!!! People crack me up!!! BAHAHAHAHA
I wouldn’t necessarily consider myself a homer. I root for good people, and I don’t think Breathitt would be making a good move by switching coaches right now. That’s all. Poor mountain counties have been through a lot; Breathitt didn’t invest in much of an infrastructure during the height of the coal and timber booms. What’s left there now is kinda sad in a lot of ways.

I guess what would be better for Breathitt would be a return to the good old days when an assistant(a coordinator at that)could cold-cock another staff member with a metal folding chair and knock him out in the locker room in front of the entire team!!!! Wake up and see the reality and context of…..”things”!!!!

Put up or shut up. Put some names on your comments.
Go back and read my comments I have been as critical on the coaching staff as anyone.
I don't know all the coaches but the ones I know are
Kyle all girls no boys
Shorty kids a stud
Casey Allen kids are too young
Justin Combs kids are too young if he even has any
Brendan. Evan does a good job plus why isn't his freshman son playing
Josh Barnett son plays a little on d and special teams.
Chris Hollon does he still help? His kids what 4th or 5th receiver.
Who else is on the staff.
Maybe your kid just isn't as good as you thought

While I’m replying. The daddy ball issue… who are you playing in front of Kory Combs? That’s literally the only “son” playing. Kid starts for just about EVERY team on the schedule for Breathitt this year. And if he doesn’t somewhere he would be a starter next year. I’m good with questioning an adult, I’m good with wondering about play calling. But to pretend Kory isn’t an absolute stud is ridiculous. Sorry he’s apparently better than your kid.

The kick off return for a TD was by far the most obvious, blatant example of a cheating ref I’ve ever seen, period. No other way to put it. The guy was looking right at the tackle. Boy rolled over three times then put his arm down to get up and just took off again. This guy should never be allowed on a field ever again. I don’t no about the rest of the calls but that no call on the tackle was mind boggling.

Thanks for posting.
Clearly the knee is down. I think his elbow may be down as well.
The fact that Breathitt played them as close as they did with this play plus the 30+ penalties is a testament to the team and coaches. It would have been very easy for them to throw in the towel but they played hard until the final whistle.

Yep looks like he was down. First off my hats off to breathitt county this year. They improved drastically on defense and I was very surprised with Bryant’s QB play this year. Only negatives would be his arm strength on the deep ball. I’d say 45 to 50 yards is max with the speed they had at wideout this year they couldn’t utilize the deep ball as much unless it was a post or thrown quickly. But his decision making and leadership was very impressive. Some on here wanting to make coaching changes is ludicrous to me. Kyle weathered the storm a few years with the state takeover and they are just now getting the talent pool built up is a slap in the face. He’s just now getting things built back and you’re wanting to take that now lol. Id say them are fighting words now. Back in the day no one would have put in for the job but now I’d say every Tom dick and harry would want the job. Kyle’s earned the right to coach a few more years and let’s see where they end up the next couple of seasons.

I think he deserves to stick around. These freshmen and sophomores coming up have the potential to compete for a state title with the big boys if they stick together and continue to develop.
My only complaint this year with Kyle was the weaker schedule to start the year. Sure we played Hazard and Letcher later on but I would love to see them schedule a few teams that will not only prepare them for postseason but that could help in RPI so we can get that 3rd playoff game on the Riverbank the next couple years. Magoffin and Powell just don't cut it when you have deep playoff run aspirations.

After seeing the pic, that’s an awful call.
Curious though, where were the officials from? I know they use out-of-area officials during these rounds.

Worst officiating I’ve ever witnessed. I understand the penalty’s ain’t always gonna be right and the margin won’t ever be the same cause that’s impossible. But it was blatant in this game. Even with this we had a few opportunities to still win the game. Fair called game and breathitt is playing this Friday. Nothing against the Lloyd memorial players only complaining about the refs. Bryant’s arm strength was fine, not gonna find many highschool qb who are gonna throw the ball 60+ yards. If it’s college or nfl I can see a realm where you let that kickoff play on then go back and review it. In highschool there’s no circumstance where you let that play on. These refs did not have a presence of mind and I hope they don’t get another game in these playoffs

The coach does not need replaced in Breathitt. He has done a fine job and seems to be well liked by the players and the parents. Breathitt had a good team this year and they won a district and almost won a region. Nothing to be ashamed of and definitely nothing to start the talks of replacing coaches.
Some folks wouldn't be satisfied with a house made of gold.
Some folks wouldn't be satisfied with a house made of gold.
Kyle did a great job this year, considering all of the adversity this team and community has went through over the past few months. I will say, this team improved drastically as the year went on, and that has been a criticism in the past, with some of Coach Moore's teams not showing a lot of improvement as the season progresses. The talk of a new coach is laughable, considering Breathitt not being the job it once was, and with Kyle coming off one of his most impressive coaching jobs of his career. Who would Breathitt go after? Better yet, who would be interested? Justin Haddix isn't walking through that door, and I don't think Coach Holcomb has much left in the tank. So who would we get that would be an upgrade? If we can develop a QB, or get a transfer for next season, I feel like we have a shot to compete for a championship over the next two or three years. Kyle now has the talent, so lets see what he and the coaching staff can do with it.

QB will be the problem ahead... been get out on the recruiting trail... who even will be running for QB position if no transfers come in?

I agree bhs missing link is QB. If they had a good one then they may make it to Kroger field in a couple years. Hopefully they can develop one cause they didn’t have one on the roster this year behind Bryant.

They have a freshman QB Johnson. Not seen him play but he has a good athletic pedigree on both sides of the family. That's really all I know about him.
Personally I would like to see them move Sperry to the QB slot. With the talent they have at RB in Combs and Gibson plus the big O line that returns 4 starters they should be heavy run oriented. Putting Sperry back there would add another wrinkle. My philosophy has always been to get your playmakers the ball. Sperry needs the ball in his hands as much as possible and I just don't know if Breathitt will have the QB talent to get him the touches he needs. Only question would be if he and his family would want to jeopardize his promising basketball career with the extra hits that would come with him being at QB compared To WR.
It would be great if we could add a QB through the "transfer portal" but if not QB is really the only big question mark they will have.

I think they could start whoever they wanted and still win the district.
The good news is the coaching staff at Breathitt has plenty of time to figure out the QB position and I think they have some pretty good freshmen and sophomore athletes to choose from so I would not be too worried.
I think the biggest hurdle for whoever Breathitt has taking snaps (assuming it will be a lower classman but thats just my opinion) will be reps and experience. I also think that Breathitt will have to rely on there backs more to move the ball via the run game but I think they have a chance to set up a very nice play action game because both of Breathitt's backs are talented.
