Why three question marks? Do you think he should've transfered somewhere else?
If his family has moved to Johnson County, then he should be eligible. This is great news for JC. Yes he is a great player, but as most everyone knows, he is a great person.
Spud, keep your head up, several people will talk bad about you for transferring, it is just human nature. Your true friends will stay with you through thick and thin. Plus you will have several of my friends at JC that will welcome you and help you with your transistion. I wish you the best at JC!

I don't think TG meant anything with three ???'s. Why on earth would you infer that he meant something in "blue".... PHS is running off players. I'm sure The Guru knows better than anyone what the next two years are going to be about @ PHS.

If not for your daughter's cheerleading coach or your son's bball coach what would you and the Guru talk about at night?!?!? If you are that unhappy, take your kids to another school. :argue:

We don't have a problem with our son's baseball coach. As for leaving, baseball is the only reason we're staying. Baseball & making some things better than we found them. (softball field and baseball field) We're not going anywhere. Leave all this tradition and fun? As for cheer, it speaks for itself. The rest is none of your business.:howdy:

Actualy I meant nothing by the tree question marks, other than like the other 2 questions merely being legit questions. f he was a 6'7" pf, yeah, I would say he needs blue.
But Paintsville doesn't need another 6' guard! They need more basketballs!

I wasn't talking about baseball. I was talking about basketball since the Guru "knows" about Paintsville running off basketball players.
To the "Guru" - everyone knows who you are, you've made that no secret. You've talked about your sons baseball and posted about your daughter's cheerleading as Snake has posted about her sons baseball and posted about her daughter's cheerleading. Everyone knows who you are and Snake has made herself obvious.
As for Snake ~ if you read through the cheerleading posts we all know you don't like JAD. She has bad taste in uniforms, isn't a good coach, etc. Do you think that maybe she reads these boards? However, this is your opinion.
As for what you have posted "that isn't true", everything you have posted is an opinion from your POV. Opinions are not truths.
This thread is about kids leaving a school system (crum in particular). I say if a kid wants to leave, let them go. This shouldn't even be a thread. Who cares where Crum plays so long as he can lay his head down at night and be happy with his choice. My point here is that some parents and fans criticize this decision, but at the same time criticize their own schools programs, coaches, etc. The point is that I think it's brave this kid made this decision to leave his hometown, start a new school, and a new team in order to better his situation. All of those who are so terribly :lame: unhappy with their kids current situation might want to look into this.

Since this thread is about a good young man making a choice to go somewhere to improve himself, I can't see why on earth you start this crap. I wish this young man nothing but the very best. I wish his old school the best and his new school the best. Heck, I don't have a problem with it. I was just talking to jchsrulz for goodness sakes. We had been chatting in other threads. Didn'tmean to push your buttons or have you go off on a rant about something that has no business in this thread at all.
Hey... you're 110% right about opinions and points of view. If you don't like mine or agree with it... big deal. Now, we're not going anywhere. We made the decision to stay here a long time ago, we're happy with volleyball, softball, baseball, and really we're happy to support all the recognized sports @ PHS. We SUPPORT ALL THE STUDENT-ATHLETES and we work very hard for them all year long. I'll thank you to not get on here and imply or infer that we're criticizing any athlete. Stop it. Get over it... we're HAPPY!!!! Again, If this nice young Spud child wants to improve and he believes JC is the place for that, then my hats off to him and I wish him good luck.... anything else you've brought into this is bull butter. Have a nice day & Go Tigers!:Cheerlead

I CANT BELIEVE THAT SOMEONE THAT goes to paintsville would put there kids in the county league instead of the PLL. why?
I think the KHSAA might need to investigate the transfer. maybe there was some recruiting going on.:dontthink

:dontthink You better be ready to prove that statement you just posted about recruitment.I know all about the whole situatoin and recruiting was not part of it!!They want their child to get a better education. The kids in Martin co. are not privy to alot of stuff people over here take for granted.I'm talking about text books for class.I know Spud has not had a math text book since 6TH grade. They do everything on a computer and are really not taught how to work math problems.Your recruitment statement is way out of line!!! As far as kids playing baseball why does it matter where they play or who they play for!!! I say mind your own business.

I wish him the best of luck at JC, but to say that his "true" friends will stick by his side even through the transfer isnt necessarily true. Take Pikeville a few years back, Brenton Hamilton. Some people who were his best friends practically stopped talking to him. Holding grudges may be wrong, but people feel betrayed if they transfer to another school, especially for sports reasons.

PLL was asked several times if there would be jr and sr leagues this year, and without definate answers, I felt that BRL would at least give an opp for playing time, after all, I really am one that believes it is possible to play in these leagues without bringing one's school into the mix. Ask any of the kids that play for me if anything about any school has ever been mentioned. We talk baseball and baseball only.

There were 13 freshmen playing basketball last year at PHS. Of those 13, 4, tops went to camp this year. Last year, PHS had (2) varsity teams at camp, this year they are playing games with nine players. PHS had three srs. to graduate, Something has had an effect, don't you think?

THats what is all about congrats to Spud and his parents decision to make a move.JR Hammonds was quoted as saying this will make them contenders and his team will be there come march. The only way Hammomnds will be there is if he buys tickets for general admintance. He was also quoted saying as long as his parents moved he could not do a darn thing about it!!!Thay will be purchasing a house very soon and normal life can be restored at cow town U.S.A. in INEZ,KY.They also mentioned Hammonds record and boy was it awesome. He really has something to be proud of!!!

Well CD23, do you still feel the same way about Crum now that it looks like he is going to be playing for JC? I don't agree I would fight the transfer I would not sign a release. The funny thing is His parents are teachers at the High School.
06-24-2006, 07:29 PM
I'm talking about his athletic abilitites. Do you still think he will be a superstar on the defending region champs, or do you think his time to shine was with SC? I think that if he wanted to get to that next level in college, not HS, then Sheldon Clark was the place for him.

If his parents are teachers and what was previously said about academics (no math book since 6th grade) is true, than this is a SMART move. They would know first hand since they are school employees. Anyone with a brain obviously wants the best for their child. If you examine test scores short of Pikeville, PHS followed by JCHS have the best HS scores in east KY. Both are great schools and would be a good choice. Of course I'm partial to one, but that's just me. Parents have a responsiblity to see that their child gets the best. Playing basketball is no reason to stay anywhere or go anywhere. His jump shot won't do him any good if he can't pass his freshman year of college. (before anyone jumps on this - I don't know the kid or his academic abilities. I was making a GENERAL statement.)
