Rumor has it that Jaryd Crum met with some of the staff at JCHS today. Can anyone confirm that he is definately changing his school colors or was this just a chance meeting?

If he had a meeting with some of the staff, anyone except the principal or vice princpal before he actually transfers, wouldnt that make him not able to play next season?

To my knowledge Spud is happy at SC and isn't going anywhere. His dad will be helping out the SC staff so I highly doubt it.

Well, I know he was playing for S.C. at Pikeville College. Watched him play some team from North Carolina
06-20-2006, 09:20 AM
This thread is stupid especially since his dad is helping out with Sheldon Clark's team this upcoming season.

I don't see why we can not just wait until the first day of school and see where everyone is before these kinds of threads start two months before school.

Someone confirmed that he was seen with his uncle that lives in Johnson County, so maybe he was just visiting with him. I hope he does make the move to JCHS though , cause I think he would be a great asset to the team!

Why is it that every year people get on here and talk about the good players from teams leaving to other schools? Has it happened yet? As far as I know, Landon is still at Paintsville just the same as Jaryd will be at SC next year. Why would he take a chance on losing a year to change schools. I guess we will know for sure because isnt it that if you didnt transfer before July 15th you will be ineligable reguardless if you moved or anything?

crum is gone....and i couldnt be more upset....

I don't blame him at all. If I were as talented (we all know I'm not, haha) I would have went anywhere besides Sheldon Clark to open up more oppurtunites for myself as well.

I visit my aunt in Ashland, but does that mean I'm going to Greenup County? No.
I visit my uncle in Floyd Co., but does that mean I'm going to Prestonsburg? No again. Let's just leave the boy alone. Football comes before basketball. You all can then talk to me about all this around mid-November.

I am estatic about the news! I believe JCHS will have a stronger team this '06 -'07 season. Best of luck to Spud and his family! I think you have made a good decision in choosing to call Johnson County your home.:howdy:

Isn't life great when you can tell all those people that said you were stupid and wrong "I TOLD YOU SO !!!!" Ihope that Matney's Prodigy and the rest of the coaching staff at SCHS has a great year.I look forward to seeing them when JC beats them to a pulp!!! LET THE PARTY BEGIN !!!!!! :letsparty :letsparty :Cheerlead

ya know, its probably a better oppurtunity to win basketball games, but thats not what you should base your life decisions on. loyalty and friendship is what i consider the most important things in life. when i heard the news, crum went from one of my best friends, to one of my worst enemies...

He was in Tennessee playing with SC thurs fri and sat of last week... did he change after that?

:dontthink You know, if you were really his friend you would wish him the best and tell him it does not matter what team he plays with.I know Spud real well and he knows just about everybody that is on this site.I bet he is saying "WOW" what great friends I have in INEZ!!! I think thats part of the problem. Nobody ever showed him the respect he truly deserved over here. You guys that call yourselves his friends are really not anything more than Judas Iscaroit's.You were just waiting for a reason to betray him!!!!

The decision has been a long time coming. I'm sure that the decision wasn't based solely on his ability to play ball in Johnson County. His mom is originally from Johnson County and that's where most of his family is. I believe that they made a good decision and that they made it on their own. Jaryd will have better opportunities in every aspect, not just basketball! I wonder where some of us would be today if we allowed our friends to rule our lives. As far as a true friend, Jaryd will find out pretty soon who his real friends are. Hang in there Spud! Things can only get better!!!!

I wish Jaryd the best of luck. He will be a great addition to the Golden Eagles. He not only brings to them a great absketball player but also a fine young man. Good luck Spud.

excuse me my friend. i showed this guy all the respect in the world. he knows me real well. and if you know ANYTHING about me, then you know i do NOT betrayal and abandonment of ones own. this guy was born and raised in inez. heck, he was my neighbor for a few years. its wrong to betray your friends and family in that way. he told me to my face that he was not going anywhere. hes a liar...and i will not associate myself with liars and betrayers.....

Hard to believe he is gone. Going to be odd with him going there, and his parents teaching at SC.

:dontthink DID YOU EVER THINK HE DID NOT CHOOSE THIS SITUATION. THE USE OF WORDS LIKE LIAR ARE HARD TO FORGET.MAYBE YOU SHOULD CHOOSE A DIFFERENT WORD TO USE.I MEAN LETS THINK ABOUT IT.HE IS ONLY 16 AND HE GOES TO CHURCH AND IS INVOLVED IN THE FELLOW CHRISTIAN ATHLETES PROGRAM AT SCHS!!!I DON'T THINK JARYD IS A LIAR.HIS ACTIONS ARE TRULY JUSTIFIED.YOU ARE NO MORE THAN A FAIR WEATHER FAN OF HIS.I HOPE HE READS YOUR POST SO HE CAN SEE HOW YOU TRULY FEEL.HE IS GONE AND LIFE GOES ON! I'M SURE YOU ARE REALLY HEART BROKE ABOUT EVERYTHING,BUT TIME WILL HEAL ALL WOUNDS.

You took it the wrong way. Just saying it will be odd. No stirring from me. I love Spud, and wish him luck. Wish he could of stuck around, but not everything works out the way people plan for them to.

JC is having alot of problems from what I hear. This could be a bad decision.

Does anyone really know why he is transfering to JCHS???
Has his family moved yet, or are they going to?
Will he be eligible?

Well I guess I was wrong. I feel bad for JR and SCHS but life will go on, it's not like we've been world beaters anyways. Spud's my buddy and I'll always support him and wish him the best. JC is getting a super kid and great player.
