Now I can tell you your probably won’t work in my case and we know it worked at Pike Central against lesser competition but I still don’t believe in it. Yes it works at Belfry but a whole different situation and formations. How many strictly running teams make it work? Belfry and Johnson Central in our area that has been successful in our area and Pikeville did years ago. Like I said it’s according to formations and personnel. If that’s what Pikeville decides to do I hope it works as much as anyone but I still have my doubts. But as always GO PANTHERS!!!

Mac has had his kid at QB the last 3 years. He doesnt have that luxury now. Its goina take some time. If they were getting blasted these first 2 games id be a little less confident in them. But they are a handful of plays from being 2-0.

True. The Corbin game was a loss by 5. Panthers had a chance at games end to change the score but ran out of time. In the CC game it was a little similar. Down by 8, had a chance but it didn't happen. Good point made Scotty. It's not like they're getting their tails kicked by 4 or 5 scores.

Honestly this game shouldn't be close, I have great respect for Paintsville's program but the fact they only beat Floyd Central by 7 tells me they are down this year. Pikeville has Sayre on the road and I don't know anything about them and then Russellville on a neutral field and then this game at Paintsville and those are the 3 easiest games on the schedule.

I'm not concerned whatsoever with the 0-2 start, we are a few breaks and calls from being 2-0 so it is what it is and with Madison Central, LCA, Hazard, and Belfry on the horizon it doesn't get any easier. However if Pikeville has any issues this Friday night then I would start to be a little concerned.

I still remember that lol...I mean you can literally call holding on almost every play but Raceland went all 4 quarters without 1 single penalty, while Pikeville had flag after flag..I remember thinking in the 4th quarter surely they will throw one to atleast make it look fair but the score was too close I guess. Fortunately since then the Panthers have avoided playing at Raceland in the playoffs but with the early season losses and probably a few more losses on the way they will probably have to make the trip north on 23 this November unless they meet in Lexington. Pikeville won't put a running clock on Raceland this year so hopefully it's a different officiating crew than we saw in 2017.

Game day Panthers, this is the only game that matters. Paintsville is not playing this game to lose and you can bet on that so buckle up and get ready because they are going to hit you in the mouth now it’s up to you if you take it or get up and fight back. Play every play like it could be your last because in reality it could be, no plays off and do your jobs and execute your game plan and you guys will be fine. I have faith in you young men that you can be the team you want to be but that’s entirely up to you guys. As always GO PANTHERS!!!

All joking aside, prediction time. Paintsville defense was bad last year and has been bad again this year vs. run AND pass, BUT
they will stack the box and shoot the gaps to get to 12 and 19 since 99% of Pikeville plays have been those 2 standing beside each other in the backfield and one or the other running the ball. Pikeville will key on Phelps as well so this could stay close. If Pikeville goes 99% of plays 12 and 19 I say Pikeville 26 Paintsville 14.

If Pikeville uses all their playmakers and gets the ball to several different guys in space, I will go with Pikeville 43, Paintsville 14.

Neither scenario would surprise me. Pikeville losing would surprise me.

If a poll was taken for the #1 worse refs at locations it would go like this:1 Raceland 2.Hazard 3 Paintsville. The difference between the three is at Paintsville.They either won’t let announcers ,etc near the press box, and if they’re already in, they throw them off. The chain crew always have “defective chains “ ready to be used. Ha ha Now this is not a ref thing, it’s just a culture at the ville. Lol

I do have to agree that (in 2017 I believe) was by far the worst reffed game I have seen in a while but Pikeville did jump a few times that were legit calls but all those blocked in the back and holding calls on long gains only were bogus. But Pikeville still should have won that game but they didn’t so water under the bridge.

I'm not gonna lie if they only win by 2TDs my confidence in this team repeating will go down for the first time this season and I would consider Hazard and then Raceland has the 2 favorites after 3 weeks.

Yes I know that but in Pikeville we have replay on our video system and Pikeville wasn’t holding no more than Raceland was on their offensive plays but I guess it helped having the commissioner at that game when their were a lot games closer for him that traveling to Raceland now that’s another conspiracy theory hahahaha
