Breathitt will be bringing back the majority of their team from last year. The most important question will be, who will replace Turner at QB? I believe they will be solid up front, on both sides of the ball, and they have a lot of play makers, but it all starts and ends with the play at QB. Does anyone have a schedule?  What's everyone's thoughts?

Breathitt is always loaded. Coach Moore has done a great job over there.   

I know they had a lot of players but a majority of there scorers graduated? Correct?  They have Sperry and that freshman running back.  They only lost I think 6 seniors or something like that.   I look for them to be a run team next year and work in the pass. Prolly a 60/40 team run first pass second.

should return to the top of the district as the boro loses a lot of production. One of the best seasons in middlesboro history got them over the hump, maybe a good game this year but i think breathitt has the material to run the table in district play. What’s their schedule?

Does Moore move Sperry to QB? I think they would e the best I've. But does he and his family want to take the added hits that would come with a position change possibly affecting his basketball career which is clearly his best sport?

Either way I think they walk to a district title as Middlesboro loses lot.

Sperry at QB gives them the best look, but also his basketball career could be in rough spot depending on the Oline.

I think they'll  be ok up front. They have some good talent coming up. 

Sperry would be my choice at QB. I have not been impressed with the other options that are coming thru the system. I could see them running a lot of run pass option plays where he only has to make 1-2 reads to make then tucks and runs it.

If I were his parents I would not want him at QB. He has a future in basketball and I would not want to jeopardize that unless thats what the kid wanted. His dad was a good QB back in the day.

I agree with you on the QB situation.  Sperry would be the top choice for me, he’s an exceptional receiver but you usually want to put the ball in your best players hands and let them roll with it.

Moore will figure it out and they should make the right decision for the team and not the player

With all of the talent returning at the WR/TE position, I'm surprised a QB from a surrounding school hasn't transferred in. To be honest, I have no idea if they have any one coming up, who would be a difference maker at the QB position other than Sperry. I think Sperry needs to be at the WR spot, due to his ability to stretch the field. Hopefully someone emerges. I think Breathitt's defense will take a couple of steps forward this year.

Breathitt definitely needs a quarterback but I don’t for see anyone transferring in. Breathitt has never really been a school kids transfer to. Breathitt hasn’t been able to tackle anyone in the last few years. That’s their biggest problem is tackling. I do think they will be improved on defense this year though

Well, this schedule is a step in the right direction. I'm assuming one of the two Middlesboro games, is actually Leslie County since they are in our district. Letcher Central is a good pick up, and Hazard and Perry Central should be much improved. Knox Central usually fields a competitive team, and Middlesboro is coming off a 2A semifinal appearance. As I said, it's not powerhouse schedule, but it's definitely tougher than years past.

Breathitts QB has been waiting for his chance for 4 years. Has been playing QB since grade school and has an excellent arm. Give him some time to get up to varsity speed. Let’s not say we need a new QB when we haven’t seen a breathitt boy have his chance yet.

I hope you are right. We got a lot of talent on the roster but QB is the biggest question mark. Not saying he won't play great but at this time he is unproven. Should get some good experience at EKU 7on7 today.

Pretty sure his family supports him playing football. Not saying he will but if he doesn't it won't be because of them.

I heard Tyler Bryant looked good at the 7 on 7 last week. I don’t think they’ll have prob scoring just hope the defense improves. Geez that unit was hard to watch last year

I wasn't at EKU but from what I hear Breathitt's line performed really well. They are a little young and could start multiple freshmen on the o line but I can see them meshing into a really effective unit.

I heard Bryant performed well at the 7 vs 7 tournament in Richmond this past weekend. We all know it's a different story in live game situations, but it's positive to hear about him looking the part. The biggest question marks for Breathitt this year, is seeing how much the defensive front seven has improved, and how much production are we going to get from the RB position. Also, Sperry is a wild card, and if he plays, he would definitely open up things with his ability to stretch the field vertically. Also, he is capable of being a lockdown defender at corner. Overall, I look for Breathitt to improve in a lot of areas and I think they will be the team to beat in the district. If things fall into place with the RPI, the talent is there to win a regional championship, and advance to the State semifinal. After that, I think it would be hard to compete with Beechwood, LCA, and Mayfield.
