Didn’t say North’s players were not good.  Just said Pikesvilles other 4 are better.  I think Sammons is a little better than Davidson.  Worrix is better than Sizemore.  Robinson a little better than Harris.  Hall is dang good but Sheppard is the best player in KY.  I think all of North’s guys are good players.  I just like Pikevilles better overall.  We will see.  I will be happy with whoever wins.  You can take all them percentages and throw them out the window come gametime at Rupp.

I’m not too knowledgeable about Pikeville but have seen some of their games through streaming tv. I’ve seen North more, though. If Sammons is better than Davidson then he is darn good! Davidson is a stud. Will play at the next level. From the few times I’ve seen each team I’m going to give North Laurel the edge in this one. Probably win by 7-10.

Sammons is the best player but Worrix is the most important piece of that Pikeville squad. He runs their offense. If you can shut him down and keep him out of the lane then it disrupts Pikevilles entire offense

Both of these teams are really good teams and are capable of winning a game or two next week. The winner does however have a difficult draw with GRC in 2nd round but to disrespect either team and try to say they will lose this game by 20 to 30 points is ridiculous IMO. Should be a great game decided by 10 or less points either way. Being a 13th region guy and a big Reed Shepherd fan I believe North has a great chance to win and move on but I don’t believe it will be easy.

Unfortunately I agree...North Laurel and Pikeville have both had fantastic seasons and if they can win a game at Rupp that will make it an even sweeter sweet 16 for one of the teams...but GRC is on another level and it will take a pretty big upset imo for them not to win the state championship.

North Laurel is very beatable but I don't think Pikeville is the team to do it. I don't like North's DNA if you are talking about being one of the top four or five with the best chance of winning four straight-- too weak on the glass and too reliant on three to four of their kids around Sheppard winning the three point lottery.

Will be for them, but if you have an elite athlete that can keep Sheppard from dropping more than 35 on them while you aren't running lots of help at him, you are golden.

If you have a kid who can really help at the rim (i.e., an elite shot blocker that he'll have to be looking for in the paint), you'll be fine.

If you came out if the 4th, 6th, 7th, 9th, or 11th and were considered to be an above-average rebounding team in your region, you'll be great so long as their role players aren't all on fire. Rupp Arena isn't the Corbin Arena, and it has a long history of swallowing up small teams that need to rely on spreading the floor and having a lot of different players making threes, especially so for teams who haven't played there before.

I think you are dead on with this analysis. If we do get a North-Clark quarterfinal game, I do give North a chance IF everything, and I mean everything, clicks on the offensive end for them. Clark would definitely win a series, they are my pick to win the whole thing.

Rupp Arena is a tough place to play the first time you are there. The thing Pikeville has going for them is a lot of the players on their team have been there before, they were freshman, but they have been there. Lately that Pikeville team has been starting red hot and I look for that to happen at Rupp. Also NL averages 75+ points a game and teams rarely break 60 points against the Pikeville defense. Should be a good one. Also, throw last years score out the window PHS is a completely different team.

Foul trouble haha you’ve clearly never watched north play to much, Reed plays really good defense and is never in foul trouble I’m pretty positive he’s never fouled out of a game his entire career I don’t see pikeville changing that, and GRC on a another level they are good was at the North Vs GRC game earlier this year and north gave them all they wanted, and the team that beat GRC Dorman SC north beat the next night in the KOB

They left the Region and won All A state.  2 other teams from the All Tournament are in the field in Murray and Lyon County.  At least the Panthers get a shot.  You can’t get a shot unless you make it there.  They did and at least they get a chance.  Some kids in the 15th never will get this chance and they do.   

I’m for supporting Mountain teams instead of taking shots at them every chance I get.

Be a dandy game and two mountain teams meeting which I don't like. Sheppard will get his and if Davidson shows up like he usually does with 20 points or more, North Laurel by 5. If not, Pikeville could advance. Sheppard's first time in the Sweet 16 and great for North Laurel to get over the hump against Knox. You know Rupp will be cheering on Sheppard so that should motivate Pikeville.
