With district matchups weeks away, what is everyone’s projections for the sweet 16 or at least the favorites to win their respected regions?

Breathitt and Perry game should be one for the ages this year. This is Shannons big shot. Be a little down after this season and will be rebuilding. John will have most of his back.

The 14th was one of the toughest ones for me to pick, I've watched Perry Central and Breathitt play and both are solid.

Those are definitely the favorites. I think Bowling Green will win the 4th. I like Greenwood in that region too. I like Madison Central in the 11th. McCracken County has lost to Murray twice in the 1st. A third game would be interesting there. In the 8th, Collins beat Woodford at home. I like that Collins team. Definitely, Woodford’s to lose, but it will be tough. Lincoln County could give Pulaski a run in the 12th. I like Breathitt over Perry County Central in the 14th. The 15th is Pikeville’s to lose obviously, but Lawrence County has a good team that could play spoiler. In the 13th, most would agree that Norht Laurel is the favorite. However, don’t forget that Knox Central beat them convincingly in the finals last year. I wouldn’t be surprised if Knox won their forth straight. It should be a lot of fun!!

If Shannon don’t win it this year he will need to reload.

1st Region will be McCracken County I do believe.

I’d say Perry will represent the 14th, not because they have more talent it’s they are better coached and have a better team. Breathitt barely beat hazard without Ford. Breathitt turns the ball over way to much and there is no discipline. Just my thoughts. Can’t wait till these two plays each other coming up just to see where each team stands. If breathitt can keep from losing the game by double digits it may give them the confidence they need to beat Pcc come regional tourney time.

I don’t know if he’s back playing but their best player has been injured and out of action recently. If McCracken County is healthy, though, I like their chances to win the 1st.

Can’t say Perry is better coached. Both are good coaches. Shannon would probably have a hard time at Breathitt coaching to. Plus the Breathitt faithful probably wouldn’t stand for 4 or 5 new players coming in each year. From my past experiences with Breathitt, they play from within. Basketball anyway. Not sure about the other sports. But I think John Noble would do well at any school he decided to coach at and so would Shannon probably. Both are very hard workers.

Well I was very high on noble when he was at buckhorn and when he started at bhs. But overall im very disappointed with what noble has done since he’s been at bhs. That my opinion. Im not arguing whether he’s a good coach or not but im not to impressed with his record at bhs. This team has length size and ability to beat anyone but I don’t think he’s getting the most and utilizing the players the best way is why im picking Perry.

Collins is 6’7 or 6’8 but plays like a 6’1. Watch the next game he hardly never post up and plays outside the 3 pt line 90 percent of the time. He needs to be the post and the offense should go thru the post especially in half court sets. This would open up shooters and he would either be fouled or 2 pts if he played like 6’8 player should in the 14th. Am I wrong?

I think Christian has improved more facing up to the basket. He has developed an impressive Eurostep. They have Hoskins inside. He’s 6’6- probably 250 lbs. probably don’t want to clog things up especially where they are a dribble drive oriented team. Saw some nice things from Christian against Pikeville. Can’t really say John has underachieved at Breathitt. Maybe they never were that good to begin with.

I agree. Strange sets on offense.
Underutilizing his roster imo.
Especially with Collins and turner.
But that good news as far as I'm concerned.
And I don't think this late in the season it would be wise to switch things up either. What they are doing is working for the most part but I do believe they have the players to do better. Rely too much on Sperry and play very sloppy at times as far as turning the ball over. Also there half court offense can be stagnant when you get the right defender on key players. Just an opinion. Everyone has one.

1st Region a little muddled, Murray is playing kinda well McCracken is in and out with Hart. Lyon county in the 2nd region just played Bowling Green much better than McCracken. Still picking McCracken in the 1st Region.
#17
I think it’s time for Lando Napier to have a breakout game. Maybe he will tomorrow. The kid has some serious commentating skills though.

Perry will represent the 14th region in my opinion. They are solid and they have the key players plus they run the ball in transition well. Breathitt is their only game I worry about.

Few scenarios could be better for the 13th (especially if North Laurel makes it). Drew another mountain region first game and in the top bracket. Get the jitters out and have the crowd behind them the rest of the way. Likely a tough game against George Rogers Clark early Friday, then the crowd really behind them the rest of the way. Bottom bracket with the 7th, 9th, 11th, and others beating up on one another the while way.

GRC out of the 10th and Perry out of the 14th. Breathitt will have most of they're back next season and they're my pick for next season.
