Big time pick up. When I seen Ashland was off, I immediately was hoping Pikeville would give Wheelersburg a call. This will be the best team Pikeville has faced at this point in the season I believe.

Should be a great game. The Burg has speed all over the field and on both sides of the ball. No one in 1A has close to the talent level of Wheelersburg. Pikeville Wins or stays close give them the 1A Title. Hope My Town TV streams this game Friday.

What size school is Wheelersburg? What class would they be in KY and where would they be ranked? I remember when Belfry used to play Ironton every year. I would imagine Wheelersburg is similar to them.

Wheelersburg guessing would be 3A in KY. Ironton would be 1A or 2A. This season the Burg would probably be ranked #1 in KY 3A. Pikeville will be behind 7-0 before they get off the bus. Ohio let’s each school pick officiating crews for the games and to say a KY school going to Ohio to play is behind the 8 ball is being generous. I personally witnessed at an Ironton game a guy come out of the stands with an orange shirt on and put a zebra shirt over it and call an Ashland game in 2018. Ashland won 7-0 but had 2 scores called back during that game by that referee. Ashland told Ironton after that game they wouldn’t be back unless an assigned crew from KY calls the games moving forward.

Should be a good test for Pikeville.

Raceland scrimmaged them earlier and lost.

Raceland lost 37-0 31-0 something like that. You can go on MyTownTv and watch 2 of Wheelersburgs games this year. They played Russell last week and Ironton a couple weeks back.

Really pleased Pikeville got a game even if it's out of state and travel. win or lose, Panthers need this game. Hope for a safe and injury free game and the ref. crew is there for the right reason. I agree with another poster, if Pikeville can win this game, that's one step closer to another championship.

PIKEVILLE - 38
BURG       - 12

Wheelersburg is Division 5. They have an enrollment of 386.

Pikeville has an enrollment of 524. They (Wheelersburg )would probably be 1A in Ky.

That’s taking 7th- 12th grade. Because 7-8 school go to school at the high school

Can’t believe the Burg is that small of a school never knew that. Whatever the size they have a very good program and are very difficult to beat at Home.
#19
If You’re talking about Pikeville I didn’t know that.

Outside of LCA this will be the best team Pikeville has on the schedule as of now . Burg is fast everywhere and very physical . I have not seen Pikeville this year but if the talent on the field last year is the same this year Burg wins by 2 or 3 scores . Heck if Burg gets to the 40 they are in field goal range kicker is good from 50+ Burg 42-Pikeville 21

Yeah 386 I believe that is 9-12.

Just two games into the season, and playing very sound, Pikeville should be a stiff challenge for w burg. This, no doubt will be a great game to watch. Sounds like speed vr. speed. Pikeville's O line is a veteran line and is very strong. The D line is very stout as well. What can we say about Isaac McNamee ? Veteran QB and very capable of putting the ball right on target. Blake Birchfield is as good as they come and getting better each game. A core of proven wideouts that can be relied on, and a big talented tight end that we're going to hear more and more about as the season progresses. So yeah. Imo, Pikeville has a real chance of winning this one on the road. But, they must remain focused

PIKEVILLE - 21.
The burg  - 12.

Ohio plays some pretty good football especially the top teams regardless of class. I think Pikeville can go in and get the Win though.

You are crazy lol. Where do you live, I will stop by and get a sack of money on the way home Friday after the game.

Wheelersburg is stout. People predicting a blow out either way, i believe will be disappointed. This should be a great ball game.
#26
Wheelersburg is Ranked 15th in Division 5 while Ironton is ranked 2nd in division 5 on maxpreps.

We will find out how physical the mountain putty tats are. Burg will smack you in the mouth. Raceland did play burg and it was 31-16. Raceland played it like a scrimmage and used a lot of players. Burg played it like the Super Bowl. 6 or 7 guys never left the field. As far as the reffing goes Pikeville has been to paintsville so they know when they are getting screwed.

Hahaha ?
Raceland could get 300 yards in penalties at Paintsville this year and still not have as many as Paintsville as had in last 3 matchups combined.

As for this game, 28-20 Panthers.

I will say the worst end of the whistle I have ever seen Pikeville get was at Valley, OH in Lucasville. Finally pulled away, but it was not without effort to keep it close.
#30
If the Burg doesn’t put the ball on the ground they win this game and I’m not sure it’s even close. Great pickup game for Pikeville you will see where ya stand against legit competition cause the burg is really good.
