#1 Boyle County in 4A will be at home this week to faceoff against #1 Lexington Christian in 2A. A year ago I watched both these teams on the same day compete for a state championship. 2021 is no different. Both these teams looking to repeat to the same format as last year.

I’ll take Boyle in this matchup but expect a very competitive game, Boyle’s O-line needs a lot of work they have a lot of talent but are young and inexperienced on the other hand the defense looked pretty good Saturday evening.

I wouldn't put too much stock into the first game for LCA. One thing you can say for LCA is that they are their own biggest fans and just may have bought into the offseason hype. It's what lost them the title game last year, IMO. I think that they dial back in moving forward. Will it be enough to beat Boyle? I don't know, but I think they are better than their week 1 outing.

Match up of the year so far. LCA's defense was relentless against a good Mad Central team and Boyle did what it needed to put away a scrappy TC team. Both teams have a lot of improvement needed but that's why you play the schedules they play.
