Pro-Trump protesters storm US Capitol as lawmakers gather to count electoral votes

Once Biden takes office there needs to be a Congressional review of the security in Washington.

Agree. They had to know this was coming.  It's mind-numbing why they weren't better prepared. As you stated, a Congressional review must be initiated.

I pray for the woman that lost her life today and for her family. I know that property was damaged over the summer and that is not right either. However, the difference is today someone lost their life.

Shockingly, I feel for the entire group.  Every action they did yesterday is deplorable, but they have been radicalized and roped into a cult of lies.  It was easy for these charlatans to do this...It was easy for Trump and his minions to tap into this frustration because our government hasn't been serving our citizens for at least 40 years.

I know they would hate to acknowledge this, but t
hese people are just like those who protested and rioted over the summer.

Our politicians and government have promised and presented an American Dream, if you will just pull yourself up by the bootstraps, but that doesn't exist.  That Dream has been gone for years and even if you get it, it is tenuous and based on chance.  Any slight mistake or mishap can knock you off the tight rope with no safety net.  Most of us have to do everything perfectly to live the American Dream in 2020.

The protestors in the summer argued for criminal and social justice reform.  They were met with force and constant gaslighting that nothing is wrong with our systems even though YEARS of evidence to the contrary.  Both sides know the real truth of how systematic oppression has limited upward movement in Black communities.  Their frustrations remain at a boiling point.  These people are a firebrand away from becoming truly radicalized, if some aren't already.

Yesterday, we had a group of citizens that are being led the other way toward hate, because they are angry and frustrated.  Their livelihoods have changed due to bad trade deals, drug influx, a failure of the education system, or a bevy of other problems.  And then throw on COVID, that has been weaponized for political gain.  These citizens have been stretched more and more, and they are breaking just as the folks protesting social justice.  They already have their firebrand and he has a megaphone of networks and parrots.  He has the hearts of these people and they believe he can save them; reinstitute what they have lost; and punish those who haven stolen their way of life.  He can't.  He wasn't trying.

I have said this many times on here.  This nation serves one master:  wealth.  If our govt doesn't start to work for its citizens, we will continue to have this unrest and insurrection.  If our politicians only exist to be reelected and make others wealthy, instead of lead and serve, then demagogues, who only want the world to burn for them, will continue to pop up.

The real problem occurs when the firebrand can unite the disenfranchised from both sides.  If that occurs this nation that was once the greatest, will crumble.  We need an entire shift in the focus of the United States domestic policy, or we won't be a United States much longer.

That link is a group of pictures that tied the insurrectionists with Trump and minions.

Remember what Trump said this summer to BLM protestors?    "When the looting starts, the shooting starts."    What did he say after his domestic terrorists invaded the Capitol?   " We love you. You're very special . I know you're pain."

Trump is getting some support.

https://currently.att.yahoo.com/news/cap...33389.html

Trump did receive support from former legislator Vladimir Zhirinovsky of Russia’s hard-right Liberal Democratic Party, who tweeted encouragement for the beleaguered American president: “Be brave Donald. We’re with you, you’ll get help from abroad.”

Ignorance knows no boundaries.

It’s hard to imagine when we are so worried about our own traitors, but think of the national security threat this was.

President Donald Trump and his attorney Rudy Giuliani both mistakenly made calls to Republican Sen. Mike Lee as deadly riots were unfolding at the US Capitol earlier this week, a spokesman for the senator confirmed to CNN -- calls that were intended for another GOP senator the White House was frantically trying to convince to delay the counting of Electoral College votes.

Democrats governed the Confederacy and seceded from the union and founded the Ku Klux Klan after the Civil War. The Confederate flag is not representative of any large group in modern day America. There were small numbers of both Antifa and the Boogaloo Boys among the mob that stormed the U. S. Capitol. Your post is insulting and a very dishonest smear of the supporters of President Trump.

Democrats governed the Confederacy and seceded from the union and founded the Ku Klux Klan after the Civil War. Then after passage of the civil rights act in the middle 60's they switched to the republican party.
Now it's basically the Trump Party(MAGA)

No, the Democrats and Republicans have not swapped jerseys. Democrats are still oppressing minorities but their tactics have changed. Since the 60s, liberal policies have created black dependents, pushed abortions, which kill a disproportionate number of black babies, and accused Republicans of plotting to reduce their federal benefits. That was LBJ's strategy and it has worked for the most part. Democrat politicians are still tossing crumbs to black people while buying mansions for themselves.

Democrats' support for aborting black babies goes back much further than Roe v. Wade.

My reference to government dependence was a reference to government aid programs for the poor, especially poor black people with the misfortune of living in inner cities governed by liberal Democrats. Such people, despite living in abject poverty under Democrat politicians are probably the most likely to vote for Democrats of any demographic group. There is no incentive for the Democrat Party to improve their plight in life because they are already voting for Democrats at a rate at or near 90 percent.

As black Americans move up to the middle class and beyond, they are much more likely to vote for Republicans, who believe in rewarding hard work through job opportunities and by creating a business environment conducive to successful small business ownership. It is no accident that successful black owned small businesses are often torched during inner city riots.

Donald Trump and his supporters are not interested in going back in time. We believe in working for a better future. Joe Biden is the one promising to scrap Trump's successful programs both at home and abroad.

Quote:Remove statues of Margaret Sanger, Planned Parenthood founder tied to eugenics and racism

For those identifying historical figures with racist roots who should be removed from public view because of their evil histories, Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger, must join that list. In promoting birth control, she advanced a controversial "***** Project," wrote in her autobiography about and advocated for a eugenics approach to breeding for “the gradual suppression, elimination and eventual extinction, of defective stocks — those human weeds which threaten the blooming of the finest flowers of American civilization.”

Quote:Margaret Sanger, Democrat Party Icon

The left lionizes Margaret Sanger. She is so revered that Planned Parenthood gives out an award bearing her name, and it was won by Hillary Clinton in 2009. Hillary said of Sanger:

“I admire Margaret Sanger enormously her courage, her tenacity, her vision . . . And when I think about what she did all those years ago in Brooklyn, taking on archetypes, taking on attitudes and accusations flowing from all directions, I am really in awe of her.”

Wasn't our 5th District Pope , Hal Rogers, the lone member of KY's delegation to vote to overturn the election results?  He should retire.

Lots of abortion talk in a thread about storming the Capitol. I only mention it because it has been an issue that has gummed up and polarized out politics for 40 years. This last 20 we have elected terrible state level politicians, and plenty of national level duds because one issue has blinded us. Ironically, it’s an issue that will never change. There have been enough conservatives in power to change it if it could be.

They don't want to change it conservatism is nothing but making the rich richer and it's worked very well especially the last 40 years just look at there results. They have lost the gay marriage slogan now it's abortion, guns and the new one socialism.
They have always controlled the court last 50 years in fact they are the ones who legalized abortion

Oh, man, that socialism; a boogeyman few understand.

Rounding up these folks pretty quick. Some are saying “Trump campaign told them to do it.”   Let the circular firing squad commence.

Republican House Minority leader has said some important stuff tonight.

1. Antifa nor BLM were involved.
2. Trump shares some responsibility.

It looks like Antifa played a role in storming the US Capitol after all. What did China Joe say about Antifa? The video below also shows the murder of an unarmed Trump supporter.

He's not really an Antifa leader, although he does apparently lean to the left, per the quote below and was there to try and film it.

How did a slender black man who has previously clashed with Proud Boys within among a crowd of largely white, riotous Trump supporters? Sullivan carried a simple setup: a cellphone mounted on an image-stabilizing gimbal. Fitting into the mob, he says, required mirroring its revolutionary sentiments. “I was worried about people recognizing me and thinking that I was Antifa or, like, BLM or whatever,” he says. “The entire time they’re yelling, ‘**** Antifa! ****, BLM.’ I’m not saying I’m Antifa, by any means. But I definitely believe Black Lives Matter.”

Let me stop you there, because a lot of people in America were surprised by what transpired at the Capitol. How did you know that this was afoot?
I run my own civil rights organization, and we were already watching the Trump supporters and what they were putting out. So we’d seen this coming for a minute. What prompted me to go out there [to Washington, D.C.] is when I’d seen Trump’s tweet about him supporting or condoning the event. When Trump says he’s going to be there, I mean, people are going to go make that extra effort. Suddenly it looks like they’re planning on storming the Capitol building and they were going to have the numbers to do so. So that’s when I knew I had to be there. I went on the 4th, so like two days prior.

Antifa posted flyers on the internet encouraging people to steal MAGA hats or dress up as police officers to discredit Trump supporters. Sullivan was an active participant, he is not a member of the media. He was not alone among people posing as Trump supporters. If you actually watched the video, you could not conclude that he was simply there acting as a reporter of a current event. I have no doubt that Trump supporters entered the Capitol but people who claim that there was no BLM or Antifa involvement are lying.
