Well ...it passed and I’m disappointed for the American people. This should have landed around August, and we should be on Stimulus 3. I really hope President Biden will get on stimulus 3 early.

I agree we should be closing and taking safety precautions to avoid the spread of this deadly virus, but the apathetic response by our federal government is shameful. This haphazard leadership that forces people to put their (and others) health on the line to survive is why we are leading the world in deaths and cases.

And of course these losers are at the front of the line for the vaccine.

Tell it to the surviving family members of the victims of Cuomo, who forced Covid-19 patients into nursing homes. Tell it to the thousands of Americans who have lost their jobs and life savings because the restaurants and other small businesses that employed them are no longer in business.

The truth is nearly all of the states having the highest infection rates and highest death rates have Democrat governors that have imposed the harshest lockdowns and mandatory mask rules. The same is true for cities with Democrat mayors.

States like Florida do not need federal bailouts because their economies have not been crashed by Democrats. Anyone who compares the Covid stats of states that have imposed the harshest measures to fight the virus with the states that have taken the opposite approach cannot deny the obvious fact that the lockdowns and mandatory mask rules have had little or no success while severely impacting state and local economies.

As with all liberal policies, Democrats' reaction to the failure of their Covid policies has been to take even harsher measures. If they decided to take the common sense approach, such as those pursued by Florida's governor, then they would be admitting that their policies are to blame for making the pandemic worse and decimating the economies of the states that voters entrusted them to govern.

So, you support sending payments of $600 to taxpayers who have suffered the consequences of failed government policies, while granting a salary increase of $50,000+ a year to members of Congress, but you opposed measures that allowed taxpayers to keep more of the money that they earned.

Taxpayers receive 100 percent of the proceeds of a tax cut. In the stimulus bill that Trump will be vetoing, Americans would have received 17 percent of the proposed government expenditure, while assuming liability for the repayment of 100 percent of the total $900 billion expenditure.

Not being a partisan hack myself, my answer will probably disappoint you. I oppose the plan completely, but if all of the slush fund spending to finance bribes circuitously financed by American taxpayers is eliminated from the bill and redirected to American taxpayers, then it will be a huge improvement. If Pelosi and McConnell simply add to the total cost of the stimulus and increase the individual payouts to $2,000, then Trump should veto the bill for a second time.

Either way, Representatives and Senators will be asked to vote on a bill that they have not had time to read and debate. Nobody should sign bills that neither they nor their trusted staff have had time to read.

How about you, Van Hagar, do you think the people for whom you cast votes should be blindly signing bills under pressure from the Democrat leadership, without being afforded time to read them? Would you rather see money sent to foreign countries (minus the "Big Guy's" cut) or to American citizens suffering under poor governance during a pandemic?

But let’s say they were bare, Trump had 3 years he could have given a sweet contract to some buddies and did something good for our nation. But no that didn’t happen.
