Ordinary Americans have done a phenomenal job of making $1200 last 8 months, and whether they need it or not, Congress seems to be headed for a deal to help American citizens and the starving corporations.

Why the sudden change?  Mitch was staunchly against this 2 weeks ago, and not only will the bipartisan bill pass, but there is likely to be another direct payout.

Anybody got any ideas what has happened to make the GOP leadership in the Senate come around on this issue?

(Gonna lose the Senate if they don't pass Stimulus #2)  Wink
Senate races in Georgia Moscow  Mitch doesn"t  want to be the minority leader
The Dear Leader will have added more debt in 4 years than Obama did in 8 years
The Dear Leader has more American blood on his hands than any other president
The Dear Leader will leave office with less jobs than when he took office
Are you tired of winning yet ?
Well ...it passed and I’m disappointed for the American people. This should have landed around August, and we should be on Stimulus 3. I really hope President Biden will get on stimulus 3 early.

I agree we should be closing and taking safety precautions to avoid the spread of this deadly virus, but the apathetic response by our federal government is shameful. This haphazard leadership that forces people to put their (and others) health on the line to survive is why we are leading the world in deaths and cases.

And of course these losers are at the front of the line for the vaccine.

FWIW, I am griping about both sides.

Trump offered Pelosi a package that would have given twice the relief back in October. Pelosi blocked every effort to reach a compromise with Mnuchin until after the election.

Be that as it may, this is a horrible deal for every American citizen. The lockdowns have left many Americans broke and jobless. As Tulsi Gabbard said, $600 is a slap in the face to those who really needed help through no fault of their own.

China is Mitch's master, not Moscow. You must just like the way that "Moscow Mitch" rolls off of your forked tongue.

There would not be a need for a COVID relief package if not for incompetent local and state government - the worst offenders being hypocritical liberal Democrats. If by losers being at the front of the line, you mean those who voted for this awful bill, then I agree with you.

This hurts but i would agree with you on this Your Dear Leader would have given everyone $5000 debt doesn't mean anything to him just look at his past bankruptcies i think he is up to 5 now
Moscow Mitch has been the hold up now that the senate races in Georgia have gotten close we pass a bill

78% of the stimulus money will go to foreign governments and special interests.

1.  Incompetent State and local leaders? Without them we would have lost millions of people to this plague.
2. The Senate has been the holdup.  Attempting to shift blame to Nancy Pelosi is silly.

However, You and Tulsi are correct.  This is a slap in the face to Americans.

Tell it to the surviving family members of the victims of Cuomo, who forced Covid-19 patients into nursing homes. Tell it to the thousands of Americans who have lost their jobs and life savings because the restaurants and other small businesses that employed them are no longer in business.

The truth is nearly all of the states having the highest infection rates and highest death rates have Democrat governors that have imposed the harshest lockdowns and mandatory mask rules. The same is true for cities with Democrat mayors.

States like Florida do not need federal bailouts because their economies have not been crashed by Democrats. Anyone who compares the Covid stats of states that have imposed the harshest measures to fight the virus with the states that have taken the opposite approach cannot deny the obvious fact that the lockdowns and mandatory mask rules have had little or no success while severely impacting state and local economies.

As with all liberal policies, Democrats' reaction to the failure of their Covid policies has been to take even harsher measures. If they decided to take the common sense approach, such as those pursued by Florida's governor, then they would be admitting that their policies are to blame for making the pandemic worse and decimating the economies of the states that voters entrusted them to govern.
Don’t ever use the phrase common sense and Florida governor in the same sentence. There is no possible way to make it equate.

So, you support sending payments of $600 to taxpayers who have suffered the consequences of failed government policies, while granting a salary increase of $50,000+ a year to members of Congress, but you opposed measures that allowed taxpayers to keep more of the money that they earned.

Taxpayers receive 100 percent of the proceeds of a tax cut. In the stimulus bill that Trump will be vetoing, Americans would have received 17 percent of the proposed government expenditure, while assuming liability for the repayment of 100 percent of the total $900 billion expenditure.

You really do not understand how insane that position is, do you? I find that amazing.

It is a left wing advocacy group. Their mission is to spread socialist propaganda. Why depend on a left wing propaganda site, when the actual Florida budget is available?

By the way, Hoot and TRT, let’s hear your support of your fearless leader advocating for $2000 per person stimulus payments, which the Democrats wanted to begin with! and goes against the vast majority of Republican lawmakers. Discuss.

Not being a partisan hack myself, my answer will probably disappoint you. I oppose the plan completely, but if all of the slush fund spending to finance bribes circuitously financed by American taxpayers is eliminated from the bill and redirected to American taxpayers, then it will be a huge improvement. If Pelosi and McConnell simply add to the total cost of the stimulus and increase the individual payouts to $2,000, then Trump should veto the bill for a second time.

Either way, Representatives and Senators will be asked to vote on a bill that they have not had time to read and debate. Nobody should sign bills that neither they nor their trusted staff have had time to read.

How about you, Van Hagar, do you think the people for whom you cast votes should be blindly signing bills under pressure from the Democrat leadership, without being afforded time to read them? Would you rather see money sent to foreign countries (minus the "Big Guy's" cut) or to American citizens suffering under poor governance during a pandemic?

BTW, Trump made concession after concession before the election before concluding that Pelosi and Schumer did not want to make a deal before the election to deprive Trump of any credit. That is a historical fact. Look it up if you forgot it.

Wow, you said something true and then doused it with half-truth.
In March, Cuomo’s decisions were a disaster.
If he had only been in on those January and February intel meetings, he could have unloaded his stock portfolio and made the right decisions on nursing homes.

When a nation isn’t prepared and downplays the severity of a pandemic. its population centers suffer.  That’s common sense.

You may want to check back in on that data.  Red states aren’t doing so hot these days.  I do love you are using Desantis as the lynchpin of your argument considering he has been doctoring the data the whole time.

But I understand red state frustration you’re parroting because who’s going to pay their bills if blue states are shut down to protect human life.

Dousing truth with half-truths.

Fact, the nation was indeed unprepared for this or any pandemic and why? As you continually keep ignoring, such supplies were used up during the H1N1 flu epidemic in the Obama era. And they were never replaced, but not for lack of clear guidelines. You get no better than a 50/50 split for blame on this on the best day.

Fact, red states are doing as good and overall better according to the MAYO Clinic. https://www.mayoclinic.org/coronavirus-covid-19/map

Fact, to say Nancy has been 'working'  with Mnuchin is like saying a good stiff-arm is working with the defense.
Fact the Dear Leader was unprepared for any pandemic
Fact Obama had already left office 3 years ago
Looks to me very few states are doing any good but don't you think it would of done better if the Dear Leader told the people the truth and took it serious especially after memorial day
Democrats passed there $2000 bill in may Moscow Mitch sit on it until he sees the Georgia senate might make him a minority leader

It’s the same false logic when Republicans throw up the electoral map and say look at all this land that went red.  Land don’t vote nor does it catch COVID.

Looks like we’re all screwed to me.  How much better off would we have been if there had been leadership in our federal govt?  A stimulus that supported our economy for a period while we eradicated this virus. Made it possible for nonessential workers to stay home and stay safe without pushing them further into poverty.

This stimulus was a second chance to save 200k to 300k Americans over the next few months, but our politicians don’t care for Americans. Our government is as heartless as any authoritarian nation on this planet, and that’s hard to swallow.
The mask mandates and driving restaurants and other small businesses into bankruptcy is not an effective plan to combat the pandemic. Yet, Joe Biden has promised that he will impose even stricter measures. Poor people vote for Democrats, so Democrats are producing more poor government dependents.

Your retweets are devoid of fact. Much like Desantis’ Covid reports.

And the whines about mask mandates...no wonder we are going to have a white Christmas America is full of anti-masker snowflakes.

Incredible. The federal government is not responsible for state expenditures. The fact that you will never admit that, among so many other matters of relevance, is evident in your posts.
