Must be. That’s what I saw too.

No, Pikeville vs Hazard this week. But if Knox has to play Wayne County on the date they was supposed to play Pikeville, Pikeville might want to pick up a opponent. Looks like Pikeville might have a few dates they could pickup games.

Yes. they were scheduled to play @ Knox on the 6th. At a time when this young team needs games to develop, i guess if your Coach Mac it's like you take 5 steps, then back up three. Smh !

That's exactly what Coach mac is doing. He's made an announcement on Pikeville's twitter page to that effect.

Wow ! The effects of the China virus in the year 2020, or confusion which seems to be one in the same!

Russell and Pikeville would be a good game for both schools as Russell is now open the week of the 23rd of October. David Trimble used to be at Russell Just took over as Pikeville Superintendent. Russell super Sean Horne is Friends with Trimble. This is a no brainer imo.

Pikeville/Russell would be great preparation for both teams going into the playoffs

Is Pikeville open on the 30th? Does Pikeville have a freshman team?

As of now, open 23rd and 30th. Imo, Russell would be a good placement for either date. We've played them a few yrs. ago, not sure exactly what year. Sure hope something can be agreed upon. These young players need the experience. Yep. To answer your question, Pikeville has a JV team.

Ashland needs a game on the 30th. Spring Valley has cancelled . Dicky said on the broadcast Friday they need a game.. 29th is Kiwanis bowl it’s also cancelled because Russell doesn’t have enough Freshman. Contact Athletic Director.

The current coach at Russell used to be at Raceland and Pikeville and Raceland played a lot while he was there.  With the familiarity between coaches it makes sense that this game could happen.

Honestly this would be one of the best games in the state.  If Pikeville got them and Ashland on the schedule and beat one or both teams then I think you could almost mail them the 1A trophy.

Lol ! That's odd. While i was typing my last post i was thinking that Ashland would be a good fit. Agree, i think both Russell and Ashland makes sense.

It helps all three programs in the long run.  Ashland and Russell are 2 and 3 respectively in 3A and all it only makes sense to get top notch competition right before the playoffs to prepare for a championship.

Maybe PIKEVILLE might want to find them some more 6A schools who has won 1 game in 2 years. Make thier record look good. Maybe they should play a Letcher central, Harlan central or Johnson central? I say they pick up berea, Jackson county or shawnee.

I think everyone on here knows Pikeville will play anyone, anytime...except this guy^^^

Unlike the schools you are a fan of, Pikeville doesn’t punch down unless necessary/mandatory (district games like Phelps). But 2020 being what it is, I’m sure Mac will line up and play someone who wants to as long as they travel to Pikeville this year. Pikeville never has backed down from games and won’t. But you do you, sunshine.

Don't pay him no mind.

Besides that, as things stand right now we are booked for the remainder of the year.

Pike Central and Shelby Valley both had openings after the COVID and both declined. Central scheduled Harlan County at home and Valley scheduled Danville away. To bad neither would play. Both were offered to have the home game.

Another example of Mac being willing to line up and play anyone. Same can’t be said for certain other schools.

Washington co. Has cancelled on LCA and Danville so I figure they will on Somerset as well. That gives Somerset two of those dates available.

Coaches and staff know their team better than I do. I guess my confidence to play Pikeville would be better if Somerset beat LCA. (Friday will be the measuring stick)

I don’t know the SHS staff would necessarily want to play LCA, Pikeville and Corbin back to back to back.

But I could be extremely incorrect. (Which would be typical)

Would Pikeville and Paintsville play this close to the playoffs? I’m hearing that Paintsville will have another team cancel on them soon. Also to avoid this craziness next year Pikeville needs to go ahead and schedule a game next year with Johnson Central. They are always looking for games.

@PHSForever , were you agreeing with me or was I being dumb? Or both? Big Grin
