Class 3 A Championship Belfry 30 Bell Co 20
pjdoug Wrote:Who was it heckling Hilton and Stepheny before the game? A Corbin fan? Whoever it was has some serious issues and shouldn't be around kids or football if it does them that way. I know I wasn't the only one that saw it.

I heard a few of our coaches say it was a Belfry fans. From the sounds of it Bell had to make a long walk all the way from the East endzone to the west endzone for their final entrance onto the field. Don’t ask me why but it sounded like a terrible setup. This forced our entire team to walk by hundreds of spectators and fans. A few adults wearing red apparently got in a few of our kids face and “dog cussed” them. And those were the exact words used. Luckily our coaches intervened and our kids kept their cool. The coach from Bell that I spoke with said those fans were obviously drunk and had no business interacting with our kids.

I heard Dudley. Dudley Hilton. You suck Dudley etc. Then a F You to the Bell County player when he tried to shake his hand.

Well....that is completely uncalled for. Please accept apologies from the vast amount of Belfry fans who were in attendance. That is not typical behavior and is not condoned by the majority of our fan base or program. That behavior is shameful too say the least.

Uncalled for. Not the way typical Belfry fans interact with the other side. Apologies all around. Unfortunately every fan base has some idiots.

I was in two different lines that were both filled with red and blue.....and the interaction was very cordial. No excuse for pitiful behavior. That’s not who Belfry is.

I wasn't even sure it was Belfry fans. it surprised me to see the Bell County team come through that way and surprised me when one cussed at the kid for trying to shake his hand. You know I like to poke at Belfry , but was in no way trying to say anything about them. Overall most of their fans are a class act.

I completely agree. 99.9% of the Belfry fans I spoke with at the game, and on here, are some of the most down to earth folks I have ever met. I’m like PJ, our coaches thought they were Belfry fans but they weren’t completely confident in that. They just knew they all had red on. It was a terrible situation all around to ask a team to make a 5-10 minute hike to the complete other end of the stadium. It’s just sad a few adults made the situation even worse than what it already was.
I don't know what happened at the concession stand but I will say this. Before the game started I got into an argument with a Belfry fan, a heated one that even the cops on the field had to come over.

I was sitting on the 50 yard line, three rows up. There was this guy, who I'd never seen before at a Belfry game, absolutely saying some terrible things to a few Bell County kids pre game while they were warming up, in particular to Landon Stephony and a assistant coach. When I confronted him he got an attitude so then I did. We went at it for a minute or two and I honestly thought I would have to punch this dude in the face but his buddy got him and they moved down to another section. It was embarrassing what he was saying to that kid and he was every bit in his 50's.

But like I said, I had never seen him at a game before. Some "fans" that come to the playoffs and championship games are not really fans. You never see them throughout the year when the team is fighting and battling through the season. Its only when they realize we have a decent team that they crawl out from their holes their hibernating in. Those type of "fans" are an embarrassment and a disgrace. It's not the real fans. So I apologize for them because they never will. Like I said, this happened in the stands before the game. Not sure what happened at the concession but it doesn't surprise me. Just wanted you guys to know that it's not the true Pirare fans that do this stuff. Everybody I met from Bell was great and I made a couple friends that night.

Everyone comes out of the woodworks when a championship is involved and haven’t kept up with the team all year. Which I’m not saying that’s everybody because some folks can’t make it to Friday night games or live away. But you have those folks that could care less about the program that show up when they see an opportunity to boast. Kills me

That's exactly what this guy and a few more were doing. Sickening!

Same here my friend. The interactions I had with the Bell County folks was great. Alot of polite, humble, and well mannered folks from Log Mountain.

Funny story how I met a couple. After entering Kroger stadium, my wife and I went up the wrong ramp and ended up right smack in the middle of the Bell County side. There were a couple guys standing there and turned and saw us wearing Belfry red and one said "Yall came to the wrong place" and we all started laughing and started talking about the game. Great people.

I really hate the way some of the Belfry "ban wagon fans" acted toward some of your players and fans. It was really embarrassing. Hope you guys understand its not the way we are or what we represent. Like I said in an earlier post, those people are not supporters of the team. They only come out when/if we make it to the title game. You never see them throughout the season. Really was unfortunate and embarrassing.

Confusednicker: My mamaw whooped me with her hand right before she died and barely could tap me and said if she didn't whoop me she wouldn't have no use for me.Her way of showing love. I'm the same way with you guys. I poke at you but think you are great people and if you knew me you'd know I'd do anything for you. I think I might have a photograph of the bird brains.

You don't have to tell me that my friend. I know what your doing and I know you'd do what you could for people. It's all in fun brother. You're one of the best posters on here. I especially like the ones when you get some of these guys ready to fight!!! 😂😂😂

I'm glad have a sense of humor and don't try to beat me up. I don't feel like fighting.lol
#1 Thank you to anyone who was forced to stand their ground against anyone who tried to belittle these boys from either team.
#2 I’ve worked with plenty of folks from Pike County over the years, the one thing I noticed about them is that they are just the same as folks like me from Bell County. Absolutely no difference,,,,,,just from a different “Holler” as best as I could tell.
#3 That was an awesome game and both teams were in it until late in the game. Belfry had the trenches covered but Bell was using and air attack so it was up for grabs. But I think we all know trench warfare usually wins the day in close battles.
#4 I’m probably hoping for way more than will ever occur but I do hope that these teams meet again next season at some point.

I have several friends in Pike County Smile

Its Not Hard To Know If It Was Belfry Fan Or Not,Because You Just Don't Hardly See Anyone From Belfry That Don't Have SomeThing Saying Belfry,They Take A lot Of Pride In That Name.
We interacted with several at Hamburg Chick Fil A before the game and it was all good fun.
With 2 legendary head coaches being in this game as long as they have, winning bunches of games over the years, it’s gonna bring out some of the “haters”. Both teams have great athletes, great fan bases, I know firsthand that Bell and Dudley has a bunch of haters, I would only have to guess that with a program with as much success as Belfry and Coach Haywood, they do to. With that said, I’m sure that it wasn’t any true Bell nor True Belfry fans that would act like what both sides seen a few acting like
I agree. All groups of people period have a few loud mouth degenerates that make the humble majority look bad. As a Pirate fan I've been embarrassed at times by a few morons claiming to be fans of my team but they obviously weren't brought up right and I apologize to anybody offended by these sorry excuse for fans. Most of us aren't like that and I'm sure it's that way across the state.
Hugs for all, get over it, people talk trash everywhere all the time. Belfry whipped that behind on a down year. Bell folks want you to forget that.

I talk trash all the time and don't heckle kids and say F you to them. I hope you don't either when you are coaching them. You don't seem like the type.

Exactly! There's a right way and a wrong way to talk trash. And the situation I saw and got involved in was a man in his 50's trash talking a teenager using vulgar language. That should never happen!
