Boyle Co. vs. Johnson Central (Class 4A State Championship)
toolaidback Wrote:And just think, you two were so close to changing each others minds on who the best team is.:eyeroll:

Where are you getting that? I don't think the discussion even developed to that point.

Matter of fact the only thing that I can figure out is that he didn't want to hear that Johnson Central dropped the hammer on Louisville Central, and high tailed it out of here.. Beats the heck out of me.

That seemed to really push him over the edge. Maybe it's an unexplained phobia that even the New England Journal of Medicine hasn't been able to fully diagnose and treat.

Sheesh, even those morons from ASH-land don't pull stunts like that.

Am I hearing Cuck!! Cluck!! Cluck!! in the background?
Bob Seger Wrote:Is that the same one who publicly stated he didn't want to stay in the discussion? For no logical reason?

I think he is emotionally involved in this game and is staying off the board because of it, don’t blame him prolly a good idea, I understand he hasn’t endured himself to a lot of people on here , heck we’ve had our moments but as the old saying goes the only for sure thing in life is death and taxes, well add him homering for Boyle Co to that list....

Lots of folks seem to be emotionally involved, yet they don't tuck their tails.

Hey come to think of it, where are all of the guys that were on here yesterday and Saturday, anyways?...

I've had no experience with the Boyle Co. crowd before, and thought initially we were going to have a week's worth of a good exchange of legitimate dialog about this game. Unlike what you can get out of those moronic Clucksters from ASH-land. Found out real quick though, that when you start talking facts, logic, etc. etc. etc. and don't kiss their rings, it drives them absolutely nuts and they flee from the room like a nest of cockroaches when you turn on the lights.
Could Westside have hit the nail on the head with his analysis? …..Like I mentioned, this is a new experience for me to talk meat and potatoes with the Danville based family of Royalty....Aint gonna lie, it's kinda come to a cottage cheese with pineapples type of an exchange of gridiron knowledge , so with that, my hopes and dreams for this day has WHAMMO!!, become instantly shattered.

And this is the fan base from a 39 time state championship program?

As Andy used to say, pitifuuul!!

:Shaking::Shaking::Shaking::Shaking:
I just watched that Boyle County vs Louisville Central game. I would love to see the film on Johnson Central vs Wayne or Madisonville-North Hopkins. Is there any public film floating of the game anywhere?

What facts would you like to discuss? Is it about a one game event none of these players played in?

Every fan base has them...I think you’ll find several in the Boyle fan base you can talk to Hatz, there’s a couple variations of the blackandgold that are pretty good posters... good luck
Hatz Wrote:What facts would you like to discuss? Is it about a one game event none of these players played in?

Derned if I know Mr. Hatz, all I know is that another poster proclaimed that when you out-muscle a Louisville Central team you have really done something. I agree, and went on to tell the historic tail of an encounter at Eagle Field by said team, you know, for the sake of nostalgia.. It seemed to really bust the bubble of said poster ,and then he proclaimed he was taking his ball and going home..

IDK, for some reason, I think the implication was that only a group of pig skin toters that hailed from Danville, Ky were the only ones who are able to accomplish such a feat. From that point on, his day seemed to really go down hill on a turbo charged sled, that is, when he found out that the archives proved otherwise.

By the way, glad to see you decided to rejoin the fray.....Aint no Clucksters living in the Hatz household!!

Confusednicker:
I think Reiley Colewick will be the unsung hero in this game. He's finally healthy after breaking his hand and playing in a cast. If JC tries to take away Reese Smith I could see Reiley having a big game.
Bob if you missed me so much why didn’t ya tell me when I PM’d ya?

I thought Central was a solid defense but their offense, other than the one drive and one big play, was not very good. Boyle seemed to adjust after that drive and knocking out the QB didn’t help their O.

As for your trip down memory lane I get it. Every program has a proud moment when they defeated a more talented team and knew their program had arrived. Especially when you dominate one like JC did that season.

Makes you wish for those “Hollywood Nights.” :lmao:

Well Jack, I guess it's just one of those things that somehow get overlooked when you are involved in such an emotional moment as what we were engaged in.....I have missed you immensely. Please come back.

Dadburnit, it just aint the same without you.

Like I said, the boys in ASH-land could learn a thing or two from you.

Very good Hatz!!
I’ve thought most of the year that Boyle was the 4a team to beat, then Johnson Central decided to flex their muscles a little more in the latter half of the season. All I can say is Boyle better not be asleep because they have a monster coming from the east. Both teams have played a higher level of football all season long and we definitely have the best 2 teams from 4a going to Kroger field.
I know many of Boyle's games are on YouTube. Does anyone know if any of Johnson Central's games can be streamed from anywhere? I've not seen them play, but I have watched a fair amount of Boyle's games online.

I’ve only seen highlights of some games.
It’s going to be a long week, can’t till Saturday!

I like your sense of humor Bob, I guess I’ll hang around the rest of the week if you have any questions about Boyle feel free to ask.😁
This game is too close for me to pick a winner. I have family in Danville but lived all my life in Johnson county and graduated from JC. I am just glad that these two groups of seniors will get to finish their careers at Kroger field. One last chance to represent their community, school and family. This will be an epic game between the two schools everyone has wanted to see play all year. Good luck to both teams and I hope for an injury free game.
I've got to be honest. I think we can move the ball on JC. I'm more worried about stopping them. Have to play very disciplined defense to stop that type of offense. Then you have to make the plays when available. Wilson Kelly will need to play the game of his career. Can't wait until Sat.

Good deal, Jack..

I once had a spat with my wife years ago too.. Uh, well come to think of it, I lost that one.

Anyway, we all good!!

:Thumbs::Thumbs::Thumbs:
Most interesting matchup of the finals.

I think Boyle will out athlete JC. I like the Rebs 35-14

If Boyle gets beat it won’t be because they slept on anybody it will just be because they got beat by a better team on that night just like Corbin last year.
I just can't get the wood shed beating that Belfry took from Johnson Central out of my mind! It will take a perfect game for Boyle to win this weekend.

Yeah - that score kind of jumps out at you considering Belfry is in the title game of their class.

Boyle clearly doesn't have a comparable win over a team that was genuinely good like Belfry. And JC blew them out. At Belfry.

I know a lot of JC fans felt the same way seeing Boyle County throttle Lexington Catholic. Whichever team is going to triumph will have to play loose and at their highest level. Because both of these teams really know how to punish their opponents mistakes.

Yeah but Lexington Catholic isn't on the same level as Belfry. I know they played some good teams, but they barely finished above .500.
Rebel55 Wrote:I just can't get the wood shed beating that Belfry took from Johnson Central out of my mind! It will take a perfect game for Boyle to win this weekend.

If it helps you sleep better, Belfry certainly didn't help themselves that game.

Belfry had a couple key turnovers that directly swung the scoreboard and also had a kick they failed to recover that led to JC points and after Belfry had some momentum at the end of the Half with only a handful of second remaining, JC managed to get a score that stole that momentum right back.

You could argue the game probably should have been 17-24 points closer if not for those key swings.. ... With that said, Johnson Central was clearly in a different class than Belfry in all facets that night and wore Belfry out up front and probably could have scored again or maybe twice if they really wanted to.

This is a very, very good JC team. I cannot say that enough. Great Senior leadership, very well coached and sound, nice size, a solid backfield, and a Defense that can turn you over.

Boyle is pretty special too though.

Who says? LC has 5 losses. 2 of those came from Boyle and 1 from Covington Catholic in a barn burner and 1 to Frederick Douglas. 4 of their 5 losses are playing for state championships. They were not world beaters but they had a pretty good run. Not Boyle or JC were tested like they were. Their schedule was one of the toughest. They also beat Desales that took Belfry to double OT. Boyle made them look bad but that doesn’t mean they didn’t have a pretty good squad.
