Paintsville 19 Raceland 15

Ralph Furley Wrote:Well said Ramfan02. Some crews will never let both teams get into the flow of the game. Can someone please tell me why Coach Chirico loves Mike Hall’s crew? I was told last night that we have them again next week.

I don’t think the head coach picks the officials...

Good game. Congrats to Tigers. Rams showed no quit. I am looking forward to the rematch. Do take it easy on LCA. Their season has been tough already.

It really wouldn’t bother me at all if you didn’t see Phelps, Allen, or Hyden play.

^Any chance that would cost Paintsville a home playoff game or are they locked into 3rd highest RPI?
#35
Closer than I expected.

I would say they are locked in at 3 but that’s reckless speculation on my part. I can’t see a win being enough for them to jump Pikeville or a loss against the #1 RPI in 2A being enough to drop them below Holy Cross.

Regardless, having those 3 players healthy is more important than home field.

All I can say is welcome to the Paintsville/Raceland rivalry- where the talent level doesn’t matter and you might as well just start the game in the 4th quarter tied.

Unless there is a very big upset the semis will be played at KCD and Pikeville.

Pikeville’s RPI took a little dip with the Raceland loss because they’ve played both teams. Even with Ridgeview being an OOS team, don’t think they can drop enough to fall out of #2. Possibly can get to #1 if KCD takes a loss. Correct? Looks like 1 and 2 are about the only things that could change

I still don’t think KCD losing is a very big upset but I don’t see anyone over there that can beat them. Who would be their biggest competition in round 3?

I think you are right. Don't even know if KCD could lose the 1 spot with a loss.
Good thing is, 2 overall seed is as good as 1. Only difference it could ever make is which side of Kroger Field you would sit on.

As a 1 seed they would get a weak 4 seed at home. Probably Crittenden Co.

Only problem with being the 2 seed is Paintsville is the 3 😁

Much bigger problem for Paintsville.
Lots of football to be played but I'm fine with Paintsville coming to Pikeville in the semifinals.

Kinda like 76 for Paintsville. Grab a hunk a jersey and hang on!

Go watch the film, especially the Rams final drive. It really is pathetic. The refs called a million penalties until the game was on the line and get let the Rams tackle the defenders. Complete disgrace to officials that do a great job.

You’re giving KCD way too much credit. I’ve watched them in person. They would get SMOKED in the East.

Redneck Wrote:I wish I could post pictures on here through BGR Mobile. The Ashland Daily got a great snap shot sequence of a Raceland defender grabbing the face mask of Paintsville QB Jake Hyden. Not only did he not let go, he jerked Hayden’s head around, eventually pulling his helmet off of his head. That resulted in a 5 yard penalty. FIVE yard penalty. One that most definitely should have been a personal foul 15. And on top of that, the refs let the play continue after Hyden lost his helmet. Unless the rules have changed, once a player loses his helmet like that, the play is supposed to be ruled dead. What’s that say about these refs? Paintsville, once again, had more penalty yards than Raceland. Sounds like these refs just don’t know what they are doing.
The version of the game I watched the refs blew it dead immediately. The announcers started going nuts that they stopped the play.
I agree that it should have been a 15 yarder. However, I don't think the facemask was deliberate.

I didn’t see it, just seen the Facebook post that said Hyden continued on to complete the pass. Regardless, that most definitely should have been 15, deliberate or not, he jerked the kids helmet off after he turned his head halfway around.

No doubt. However, and I will say this slow so you can understand it. Semis. Will. Be. Played. At. KCD and Pikeville. They won’t even come easy or face a team from the east before the semis. We all know KCD is overrated

They blew the whistle just as he released the ball. The qb ducked down to avoid the rush the defender was grabbing for anything, ripped the helmet off and qb threw the ball before I knew the helmet was off. It was very quick.

The refs blew the play dead immediately when the helmet was ripped off. The announcer on aroundpaintsville.com was freaking out cause the ref blew it dead. Had no clue what he was talking about until he said it two or three times and someone had to explain it to him.

Also a great shot of pass interference on last play of the game

That joker who announces on the video should start a comedy club. His lack of knowledge about football is comical!

Doesn’t matter. In two weeks we will have out of region refs again and the game will be called correctly and we will win again.
