Somerset at Hazard 9-4
#31
It aint gonna happen Footballfan1999. Look for Reece Fletcher to get plenty touches this Friday. Hes 4 or 5 yds a carry and Hazard will turn this into a shorter game without the air raid. Somerset may win but it will be a one touchdown game or less at the end. Good luck dogs.

Somerset will likely come away with their lowest point total to date. Hazard has a good football team; this could go either way on Friday.

Hazard has defeated 1 team, Paintsville, with a winning record. (3-2) One.Struggled with Danville who is currently 1-4.

Somerset has beaten 2 with winning records and smoked Beechwood who probably would have a winning record playing any other schedule.

The Bunnies have scored 266 points and only given up 57.

I don't see this game as anywhere being close.

Hatz, by any chance did you watch the Somerset and Beechwood game? Well I did and yes Somerset won but it could have been a little closer if Beechwood receivers could have caught a few passes. Now I agree Somerset is a great team and definitely a threat in 2A. Now that’s just my opinion. Now it was the second game of the season for both and I guarantee both have improved. I do look for this game not to be a high scoring game because of knowing how Hazard likes to run the ball and kill the clock. Somerset likes to run to but I give Somerset the big advantage in the passing game if they use it. Going to be fun to see how this game turns out.

Didn't see it Patriot but went on reporting.

Somerset gives up only 66 yards rushing per game.

Hazard might like to run the ball but I'm not sure what success they will find vs the Jumper Defense.

RoShamBo Wrote:What does Hazard primarily do on offense? If they are run heavy, then they are in for a long night. Somerset's front 7 might be the best in 2A. If they can throw it down the field though they may find some success for a while and keep it close.

Watched Hazard play at Danville and they ran the ball a good 90 percent of the time on offense. To be fair, Danville was having trouble stopping the run but I would assume that Hazards offense is for the most part one dimensional which leaves them pretty much just running between the tackles. Not knocking them at all! Just my observation.

I'll pick Somerset 28-14 but an upset wouldn't shock me.

Hazard has improved and they have a great coach. I wouldn't underestimate them.

If you all really believe this game could go either way then people are wayyy over hyping Somerset. Hazard is probably the 4-5th best team in 1A and we're saying Somerset is the best in 2A. The game won't be close, and if it is then Somerset isn't the best in 2A.

That is true like I said it’s going to be interesting but I also believe that Hazard is pretty stout against the run. Haven’t really seen anyone throw the ball at them much but Williamsburg is not much of a running team to me except for the quarterback who is very shifty. This could go a lot of ways and I could be wrong and believe me it won’t be the first time for me trying to pick these high school games.

Hopefully we get a slobber knocker tonight.

I don't understand why people keep doubting the Bulldogs. I have picked Somerset to win, but it wouldn't surprise me to see the Bulldogs pull off the upset. Either way, I think the game will be close throughout, with Somerset winning the game late in the 4th quarter. Also, Hazard will give Pikeville all they want and more.

Somerset leads 7-3 at the half. The Jumpers lost leading rusher Alex Miller on their opening drive and seemed to struggle to focus afterward. All the scoring came in the last 55 seconds of the half. Hazard kicker Jonah Helm drilled a 49 yard field goal with 55 seconds to go in the half. Somerset responded with a 27 yard touchdown pass on the last play of the half from Sheron to Chaz Gilmore.

Alex Miller was airlifted to UK. Broken leg is what I heard. Huge hit to the Jumpers.

Hate to hear that!

Totally changes the complexion of the offense. I really hate it for him. He's such a good kid who had worked really hard and was off to a great start to his senior year. Hopefully he heals with no lasting effects.

Does anyone know if there’s a way to watch this one online

Hazard scores on a 5 yard run after a drive that featured 4 Somerset penalties. The Briar Jumpers come back down the field and score on a pass from Sheron to Grundy. 13-9 Somerset near the end of the 3rd quarter.

Kade Grundy with a touchdown run off of a fake punt. Somerset leads 21-9 with about 7 minutes to go in the game.
