Is Corbin the best team in the state?
#61
We won’t need a bag of tricks 64. You won’t see any of our players step in the field of play from out of bounds, run down the field and catch a pass when everyone including the refs felt he was on the sidelines.

Just answer me one thing 55 where these referee’s from western Kentucky or eastern Kentucky :ref2::ref2::ref2: And don’t say Tennessee

Corbin is definitely top 10, IMO. I want to see Belfry play, and Central as well. E-Town should've been in this conversation last year, BUT everyone kept counting them out. Everyone kept saying, on here, "are they for real"...They 100% turned out to be for real and IMO were the 2nd best team in 3A.

I watched the Corbin/Boyle game with Boyle folks. They told me Etown was legit and said they couldn't breathe most of that game. IMO that would have been a hell of a championship to have watched up there on Kroger Field.

Enjoy yourself, that is what these boards are for, for the most part. The jawing has come from both sides though I have to say some of your stuff cracks me up. Just remember at the end of the day these Corbinites are not really much different than Mayfieldians. Both are small towns with successful football teams that have fans that take pride in their teams. Corbin has been a KY football power since forever like us, not to the level of success as us but they are a storied program.

Corbin, small? Maybe the town, but drawing from many towns that border their little city. This give them, "BIG numbers", and big talent. I feel that small town mythology is similar to the David vs. Goliath story. David was the favorite, he had the more powerful weapon...Small town school is the ones going into games with 17 to 25 kids, dressed! TOwns with a Wal-Mart, are BIG towns, in Kentucky. Lol! If you don't have a Walmart and the biggest department store in your town is the Dollar General...THEN you're a small town.

We might only score 20 but you def won’t put 40 on us. It took an unbelievable team to do it last year. And MF is farrrrrr from BC, as the results show.

If anyone 3A and under puts 40 on Corbin and they're not named the Boyle County Rebels, I'll eat someone's hat. I'm not sure Boyle will score 40 on Corbin. Just saying, I am pretty sure no one else will.

Well we can share it. Because we might not win this game or the last game but I’d be hard pressed to find anyone in our class or under that would hang 40 on our D this year

The most impressive thing about your D is your pass coverage. The kid from Beechwood held the ball and held the ball and just couldn’t find anybody open to throw it to. No question Estep is a special player but the unsung heros of Corbin is their secondary.

IMO, IF they beat you, I can't imagine that it will be much more than 1 TD, unless you guys have an uncharacteristic turnover game, or penalty game. They won't score 40. If they do, the rest of 2 A might as well prepare for next season.

100%. Corbin's pass coverage is phenomenal. It was last year as well. That's why I was so impressed with Boyle. I was impressed by Central, for the 1 quarter they actually played. Lol. But Corbin has one of the top secondary's in the state, the whole state.

Our defense will carry us a long way. Our LB’s are also very talented and disciplined.

NOPE! That honor belongs to Cov Catholic.

I had a ref tell me a story about C from last years game. Now, honestly, I talk a lot of sh** on here, in fun of course. But, this is a true story and they are supposedly gonna watch for it this year. This ref said that at this game last year, there were a lot of fans on the sideline behind the chain gang. They were cursing the chain gang. Then at one point the chain gang was running with the chains down the field and bumped a coach. This coach told the member of the chain gang that he would whip his a** if he did it again. I truly hope that this stuff isn’t going on. That is not the type of examples kids in competition need to see.

Hound05 Wrote:Personally I think MF is probably the best team in the state. I mean they’ve only given up over 100 points this year to 4 nobody teams. Do you know what kind of focus you have to have to do that? It’s hard to get up and have energy when your opponents aren’t much. And to only give up over 100 in those 5 games speaks volumes. That defense is to be admired. I mean I’d hate to see what would happen if Corbin played those teams. I mean we only gave up like 20 something to two state champions. I’m afraid the only joy we’ll get this Friday is the charter bus ride.

You keep bringing this crap up. Yes Dville is a past state champion. However, they may not even be a semi final opponent this year. Beechwood is winning in 1a. Do you think they would like to see Mayfield back in 1a. That calling card doesn’t speak as highly as you would like.

No way. I’ve been on that fence for years and never heard the first cuss word directed at a chain gang or ref. Do they criticize them? Yep. But they certainly don’t cuss them. Much less the chain gang. That’s ridiculous and 100% untrue.

Were the refs in 2015 & 2016 from eastern Ky, please don’t say they were from TN.

I thought the Corbin and Boyle game was a good one. Boyle just landed the first blows and Corbin couldn’t swing back quiet hard enough when they were on their back foot. I wanted to see Corbin win but, it was a good game b

No but they are a go Top 10 team. You got to put Scott County, Male, Boyle County, South Warren at least to my opinion above them.
#82
I would like for Mayfield to play Scott Co. Two top programs with same colors and mascot. It would be a good measuring stick.

I just saw this post. It’s hilarious.

Do you people realize what a team like Cov Cath would do to them? They beat Beechwood 49 to 14 and toyed with them
