2019-22 Draft Alignment
#31
Several people better hope their regions go on a rotation or they are screwed. Already in tough districts and then their region (unless all get put on a rotation) are even worse.

Looking forward to a few Corbin/Boyle County playoff games in the coming years......starting this coming one @ Rebel Stadium. 😎

Courier Journal had an article that said they are not going to re-seed this year. Meaning, Corbin will have all 4 playoff games at home before the state finals.

I've heard nothing that says the reseeding isn't happening but personally I don't care where the game is played.

The reseeding was being done so teams like Boyle Co had the opportunity to not play on the road several years in a row that was a direct result of cross bracketing. AND most importantly to create excitement kinda like they do with the college football final four announcement.

Fixed it for you.

Not to say Beechwood doesn't have a pretty clear path as well, because they do. But NCC will not even break a sweat until the finals.

If there was ever a need for the reduction of classes, it is now.

Go to 5 classes.
Force privates to use 1.5 multiplier for alignement.
Make people play in the class yheyre supposed to.

With the reseeding in the semi finals, how do you figure that Beechwood has the easiest road to the finals in the history of football?
You do realize that more than likely Beechwood will have to beat either Mayfield or Danville in the semi finals, and quite possibly have to go on the road to do it. Easy road to the semis, yes, but not to the finals.

I think this is very favorable for Prestonsburg in 2A. If they were to make it to the Regional Finals their opponent would be most likely Leslie County. I think several semi-final trips could be very possible for them for them if they get their program lined out.

Not sure why Powell County, Bell, Jackson, Estill, etc are in District 5, and up state teams like Ashland, Russell, Greenup, East carter are in District 7?
#40
^ However, the team that comes out of 2A District 7 and 8 will run into Beechwood every year..

I have heard it will not happen in 2018. Massive pushback. Crossbracketing will remain.

You are right if seeding happens. I'm hoping this seeding deal ends up in the can where it belongs. Under the seeding scenario, there would be no way to accurately say which team should be the higher seed among the 3 teams you mention. Polls? Rankings? Can't work and multiple teams will get screwed every year.

Calpreps rankings currently have P'burg at #117 in state and Bath County at #125. Leslie County is #155. The rest of the region starts at #164 into the 200's. I would say P'burg and Bath Co both like it.

As for the 5 vs 7 it's east to west and the 9 teams in region 4 are about as east as you can get.

The seeding, reseeding or whatever you want to call it was voted on Thursday January 11th by the KHSAA board of Control and approved and will start this fall according to the KHSAA.

Glad that Corbin is now in our district, will make for a great regular season game. Throw in Wayne and we have a brutal district. Lincoln has their years too. Great competition. If we make it out of our region - we will have earned it.
#47
Russell county has decent years too. I could see our district sweeping the other in the regional playoffs a few times.
#48
Never mind, I forgot about johnson central.
#49
These things go in cycles, district 8 will compete with district 7 just fine in the playoffs but that is a killer region!
#50
When 3/4 of the 3A semi-finalists move up to 4A......😳

4A just became deadly.

Cov Cath should file charges against highlands for stalking. Doesnt highlands have 3A numbers? Will there life always depend on what there idols at cov cath do?

If Highlands is going to be an also-ran, and they are going to be an also-ran, then they may as well be mediocre in 5A as in 4A.

Johnson Central could actually compete with highlands now. They should have stayed in 5A like there numbers put them.

It seems to be true. I guess if you cry loud enough you get rewarded. Great parenting skills KHSAA. 😜

Boyle County won't cry about things. We'll take our 3+ years on the road in the playoffs and roll with it. This years @belfry @Corbin @UK road to #9 will be tough but will leave no doubt about who the best 3A team is.

Who ya with? 😎🏈

I just scrolled thru your link and read the article about reseeding and from what I read it was approved and will happen this fall, are you reading between the lines or am I missing something?

It's under the article headline about Louisville central going to 4A. It's towards the bottom. He isn't crazy, it's just hard to find.

You’re definitely missing it. It’s under the other news section. Below is what it says on the matter.

* As the KHSAA continues to search for an appropriate method, the board voted not to seed the state football semifinals during the 2018 playoffs. KHSAA commissioner Julian Tackett said Courier Journal’s Litkenhous Ratings and the Herald-Leader’s Cantrall Ratings would not be appropriate to use because they use margin of victory as a factor for ranking teams.
