It's pretty tough, I've only known of it happening one time. I think this year it could happen again though.

Are you saying in the same calendar year?

I would argue JC is the best Public school in the state with the combined Football & Wrestling success over the past 14 years. No other team (besides T & X) have won the state wrestling title and a state football title in that time period. The other public schools that have won the state wrestling title have not had the same type of football success like JC has had in that same time period.
JC's post-season Football & Wrestling Results from the 2004/2005 school - Present *Wrestling IS NOT classed like football.

State Champion, Geordon Blanton (160 lbs.), Wrestling.
Eight state meet place winners out of fourteen weight classes, Wrestling.
2017/2018
4A State Runner-Up, Football.
Wrestling season is still ongoing as of 1/24.
46 total place winners at the state wrestling meet from the 2004/2005 school year through the 2017 season.
Campbell County, Union County, Fern Creek & Woodford County have all won the state wrestling title in the time period I have listed above (T & X have won it as well, but I'm not counting them because they are private) have not come close to JC's football success.
Belfry, Danville, Central, Boyle County & Male have all won state football titles (yes, I know more teams besides this have won as well) in this time period and have a good wrestling program, but have not consistently been in the Top 20 in the state wrestling meet like JC has.
Ladies and Gentleman of the jury, I have presented enough evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Johnson Central is the best Public Football & Wrestling school in the state for the time period I have listed.
The prosecution rests, your Honor.
I'm calling it right here, right now. I have facts to back up my statements.
Johnson Central has collectively been the best public school in the state in Football, Basketball, Wrestling & Baseball from the 2005/2006 school year to present day. Public schools, for the purpose of this post excludes all Catholic and Christian schools.
Boys Basketball 15th region champions
2006
2012
2013
2014 (Elite 8)
2015
Baseball 15th region champions
2007
2014 (Elite 8)
2016 (Elite 8)
2017
The only other public school that can make an argument during the time period I mentioned is Scott County.
JC gets the edge in Baseball. JC has more trips, both have been to the Elite 8 twice in this time period.
Baseball - JC.
Scott County hasn't been to the Sweet 16 as many times as JC in the mentioned time period, but they have advanced farther and won the state title in 2007.
Basketball - Scott County
Football, both have won a state title in their class in this time period. JC has been to the state finals three times, Scott County has been twice.
Football - JC.
JC has far and above had a much better wrestling program during this time period. Individual state champions & final standings in the state tournament are completely one-sided for JC.
Wrestling - JC.
Belfry owns football.
Bowling Green owns basketball.
Union County owns wrestling.
PRP owns baseball.
I'm not saying JC is the best in any of these sports, but their overall body of work in these four sports has been the best by any public school in the state from 2005/2006 to present day.
