Great game. 2nd half kickoff was the biggest play of the game. A little lucky and a ton of heart by Hurt. I'm sorry, but Danville is a beast this year. Will take an epic performance by the Cards to pull it out. But if anyone could do it.........it'd be these kids under Joe's direction.

I think this was a complete role reversal from last year. They had the few elite players which we shut down and we had the more balance team just like they did us last year. No telling how many post were made saying how 3 could beat us by his self and he will get his points taking nothing away he looked good when was able to get to the ball. Was a great game one of the better I have seen since the overtime games against Mccracken Co. Now let the stories of how Vancleave beats us start LOL.

Because in 2009, I remember watching a faster, more shifty, as tall reciever wearing red and black that wasn't ranked that high. He did have Memphis wanting him but not any bigger than that, at least as far as I know.
Are we talking about X? Wright is truly an amazing athlete and deserves his accolades, but yes I have seen better. The difference is the recruiting process. Wright goes to all the camps and combines, X did not.
As to the talk he didn't get enough touches, he only runs three routes and MF had those covered all night. Forcing it to him would have lead to interceptions. Additionally, MF was getting pressure to QB, especially late. They wanted to go to him, but he was either covered or QB didn't have enough time. Great game plan by the coaches and great execution by the players.

Wright needed more touches. Either jet sweeps or little screen passes or even wildcat. Too talented to just touch the ball a few times in a game like this.

Got to give the coaches credit for holding out Gutherie at QB until we had to have him. The fans that keep a close watch expected it at this point and it worked just as we expected. It caught CAL umprepared

Yes. Xavier Shelton. I would love to see how it would have went if we had him or JJ on the field.

did x ever play at the next level, lost track of him after he was at Murray State but did not see him on their roster.

Harmon, Hughes, Tyce D, Wright, Dee Cain, on and on and on. We've faced some great ones, but X was just as good as any of them. I literally saw a team triple team him to no avail. He was simply a man among boys out there. What could have been I guess...

He was a family man. He was going to go to college at a junior college for one year to get some things worked out and then Memphis was gonna scoop him up. He went down there but got homesick. He came back home. Some guys just can't handle being away from family. Some would say it's a bad thing. But, one should always be committed to their family.
