Jackie Pack had the best team in the dist both years at Wheelwright, he never won the all a or a dist championship. I really thought he should have got the job at south floyd but politics gave the job to Jim Rose.
He is a great coach and from what I have heard he is line to get a boys head coaching job but not at P burg

Please give us some evidence as to why he couldn't have, I need some research.

OK, but I need a little research my self, first you tell me what makes you think he could have ? and I absolutely can not wait to hear it

I cant think of any regional game that was a blow out. Maybe... just maybe they lost because in every game, someeone has to lose. Not because they was not a better team, or because the way they was coached. But because they lost a game. Every team that made it to the regionals lost except for one. No one else except for SV has reasons for getting beat if you read all the threads about every game. P-burg come up short on the scoreboard, no other reasons matter.

He had the best team his first year at Wheelwright and lost in the First round of district to Betsy Layne who hosted the disrict tournment that year. He then had two teams that were middle of the road with talent and No bigman. And how do I know, because I went to school there the whole time he coached there which was three years. And yes he should have gotten the Job at SF but politics has alot to do with things in Floyd County.

Jack Pack just doesn't take anything from anyone, he's a great coach and a great person. I know him personally and played for him, he's a great guy and has always been there for me. If I ever need anythingÃÂ know I can call him and he'll be right there. I'm glad that he is with the girls though, they needed a good coach. But if he got the boys job I would be happy for him.
[/quote]
I'm not saying he's not a great coach. He can X and O with the best of them. But you should not try and put doubts in the Boys by telling them if he was the coach he'd do this and he'd do that. High School kids are influenced really easy. And it is UNPROFESSIONAL to sit and talk about another coach, especially one at his own school.
He has done one hell of a job with the girls.. But i've been told if Coach Martin is out at AC then Jack Pack will be at AC.

I have been told that Ac is where he wants to be.
And I agree gish if you badmouth your fellow coachs and you are a part of the coaching fraternity it shows just what kind of person they really are, and why, and how you can burn so many bridges in so few years. I have known him for quite some time and I liked him but I also saw that side of him.

Any post that someone says another team cheated is just stupid. One of the refs had been banned by P'burg early in the season, One of the other ones had not called a P'burg game the whole season, and the last one has always called against P'burg. As expected you have no idea what your talking about.

The 58th will be just fine. Everyone this year before the season said P'burg wouldnt be much because they lost 6 Sr.s last year.
The players knew better and next year new players will come forward and shine.

That's true but Herrick really just saw limited action last year and so did Barnett. McGuire quit during the season and didn't see any pt. The only ones back that had much pt at all were Sean and Michael. Next year Patton will come on in a more controlled roll, Lincoln Slone will be back as well and you never know who will step it up from the under classmen Frosh and Soph of next year. Sure they'll take their lumps just like most team do that loose a starting lineup. Oh man this is off topic sorry, Let's get back on this topic or someone start a new thread on next years teams.

I know someone has to be the loser, how crazy is that statmestatementmost of the time the team with the most talent wins, but in this case that didn't happen. If you watched the game and you saw that P-burg was getting there butt's beat off the man to man. I have NEVER watched a game that so many points were scored in the paint because of being beat off the dribble of the man to man. All P-burg had to do was go into a tight 2-3 and if they where going to beat you, at least make them do it from outside not from layups in the paint. These boys should have been playing in Rupp and going home. So if you are going to make a statement, at least know a little bit about basketball.

They have to be at school now at 6am every school mourning to lift weights ! Now thats rediculos ! All im saying is that we have had the most talent in Basketball and Football the past 3 years to win state in football and go to Rupp in Bball ! Now if I'm wrong let me know !
Then maybe the powers that be need to look at the football program for the answers. Is this program hurting the other sports programs at PHS

Sorry but that is a funny post. No, not is it the team with the most talent wins. If one team has more talent than another team, they should win. But in basketball, that isnt always the case. The team that wants it the most and leaves everything they have on the court will do better than a team loaded with talent. Being able to play together, actually doing what needs to be done on the court that doesnt show up in a stat sheet. Tight 2-3 zone? What about help defense when you are in man to man and someone gets beat on the dribble. Wouldnt that help too? Only one person on a team can score, that is the one with the ball. As far as your last sentece... anytime you want to compair basketball knowlege, just let me know.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It is the size of the fight in the dog.
