What years did Greenup County defeat Ashland?

I know that GC won in 1990, 1998, and 1999. I could make a guess that GC defeated Ashland in 1977 (since GC was state at-large champs), but I do not know for certain.

Greenup County has beat Ashland the following years.
Ashland has a 34-9 overall record vs. Greenup County.

1979: 14-0
1987: 28-7
1989: 6-0
1990: 18-15 (Ashland's only loss in their State Championship season)
1997: 24-20
1998: 36-32
1999: 38-7

It will be a dry field at Putnam so the Tomcats will use their speed to win going away.

I might just take in this game on Friday. I have not been to Putnam since 2009.

Ashland 52
Greenup 8

Although Greenup is improved they're still Greenup.

Greenup athleticism matches up pretty good with Ashland. It will be a much closer game then it was last year.

I know that Halstead, Sammons, Greene, and Kelly are the athletic leaders on offense.

Who are GC's athletic defensive leaders?

I agree. It will be closer. Plus, Greenup County has extra motivation after last year's incident.

Does GC have athletic defensive players?

There are no stats for tackles on Scoreboard for GC.

What was last seasons incident? I didn't go to the game. Two years ago Greenup came out during warmups and both teams had to be separated because a couple of Greenup players started stomping and bouncing on the A at mid-field and O'Byran and company put an end to that quickly. I personally like Greenup County minus anytime they play the Cats but these 2 programs don't like each other very much.

Greenup has a lot of 2 way players so their basically the same kids.

Interesting.

GC only lists 15 players as having varsity stats on Scoreboard.

I may be wrong on this, but it is my understanding that Greenup County took offense to something that happened during the game and some members of the team had to be restrained after the game. I guess you could say normal rivalry game stuff. As long as there is no actual violence, I think this type thing is great for a rivalry. I love emotion.

Sometimes the rivalry can go too far as in the case when GC last defeated Raceland in 2010 by a score of 60-34.

After the game, some of the GC players ripped down the Raceland signs along the visitor fenceline.

Doubt it since the Raceland coaching staff was not very happy about the extracurriculars.

The topic of conversation had shifted to onfield incidents between opposing teams. I was merely pointing out the fact that Raceland's coaching staff believed that the GC players were creating an unsafe environment for the visiting fans from Raceland.

I find nothing amusing when it comes to the safety of others at a sporting event.

We've seen enough.

This one is done. Way too much unnecessary drama. You can start another one on this topic if you want.
