Now to put an end of this conversation with you...... each football class has 2 Semi-State games. So by using your logic, JC did win a championship.... they won their Semi-State game against Wayne County. And yes, they were awarded a KHSAA Semi-State trophy.
IMO, a 'State Finalist' Ring means more than a 'Semi-State Championship' Ring does. Being State Finalist means you were one of the last two standing.

What is the difference between being a state finalist and a semi state champion? Can you be one without being the other?

No. But you must not have read the other post in this thread. Some people who claim to be JC fans, were not grasping the idea why last years team got State Finalist Rings. The Rings were either going to say State Finalist or State Champions.

I read the other posts. I had no issue if the team received rings. I just didn't understand how you thought being a state finalist is more significant than winning semi-state.
What is wrong with people these days? Runner Up rings? You might as well as buy 0-10 rings.

I never had that thought goBIGblue82...... if you would read the previous posts I've made about this, you would understand instead of joining the other trolls.

Well now goody.

I wasn't trolling, I was asking a legitimate question based on your post. And that was your exact words I quoted. You stated that a state finalist ring means more than a semi state champion ring in your opinion. I simply asked what was the difference?

I don't think it's such a bad thing, heck Hello Kitty claims state championships for pretty much the same thing "at-large" still means they lost to a Louisville team. So at least JC isn't claiming to be state champ's with the rings. Its more of a milestone for their program, I know my uncle still has a medal from the 1986 Belfry state runners-up team.

As of 8/8/16.... here are the players listed on the espn.com recruiting database that JC will face in the regular season. The bolded is where these players have committed to play Division 1 college football, and the (X Star Ranking) is based out the 5, 4, 3 Star recruiting rankings.

Austin Dotson - Belfry; #62 OT - UK (3 Star Ranking)
Cole Bentley - Belfry; OG - U of L
RayQuan Horton - Belfry; DT
Jordan Scott - Belfry; OG
Woodford Lankford - Lex. Cath.; OG - WKU
Jack Fagot - Lex. Cath.; Safety
Kirk Fagot - Lex. Cath.; QB-PP
Legend Brumbaugh - Lex. Cath.; QB-DT
Sid Sharp - Lex. Cath.; ILB
Derrek Pitts, Jr. - South Charleston; #39 Safety - Penn State (3 Star Ranking)
Dorian Etheridge - Capital; #45 OLB - U of L (3 Star Ranking)

There is NO question the 2016 regular season schedule is the hardest in school history.
All four non-district teams (South Charleston, Lexington Catholic, Capital & Belfry) have at least one player committed to a D-1 University & ranked as a top player in the state or nation at their position. This list will change as the season goes on and after the season. But as it stands now before the season starts, I am amazed.

You need a copy of the recruiting card?
Until Paintsville has a head coach suspended for recruiting violations like Matney has been in the past; Central faithful will look silly calling out PHS.

You need some pain killers for the butt hurt?
Can anyone tell us if the foreign exchange student that started at JC plays football or just basketball?

He is 6'11"-7'0", what do you think?
I had only heard he was a big boy going to play basketball! The 7' range sure answered the question.

I have seen a photo of him beside of my cousin who is a legit 6'6" and he only comes up to the bottom of his nose. Also my son's girlfriend is a senior and said that he was taller than J.R. VanHoose.
The roster on the KHSAA scoreboard IS NOT correct.

Not sure what a "recruiting card" is in this case....also all this ALLEGED "proof" cracks me up.... let it go.. who cares.... there are 2 high schools in Johnson county it is their right to choose which school they want to attend...choices were made.... end of story... bring on the season!!! :HitWall:
Does anybody have the date and time of the Cabell scrimmage

I think they have a few players that should be Blackcats that live in Prestonsburg and more that live in Floyd County. Don't know if they were recruited or just went there on their own but they would have been some our our best players.

Didn't Pikeville get a couple of your top players last year? Prestonsburg has lost a few good players the past couple years, they all didn't go to Paintsville, so don't be singling us out.
As for JC, I made the prediction last year on Spikes pre game call-in show, I was actually his first caller of the season. I predicted both Johnson County Schools to play in BG for their respective class championship. This year I'm not going to say that. I am gonna say that I look for JC to make a strong run at being in BG again. The upgrade in the schedule will definitely have them prepared. Hopefully this year they can make it through without any injuries. The time is almost here. Good Luck JC
