Hazard 2016
#61
Maybe they can call South Laurel. Their coach may take his skirt off and play 1A teams this year. But get it in writing. He will not honor their agreement.

I would guess they leave it alone and just go with 9 games.

It will be hard to find a game at this point. This makes it hard on teams. Long layoff just before playoffs then one game with Breathitt before they start. Should have to give one years notice if you are going to opt out of games.

If they can't find a game they will play two games in a months time and if injuries occur it could be good but it can lead to scouting opponents for playoffs.

With Phelps dropping out, that's one less hurdle Hazard will have to clear on their way to a runner up finish in the district. Now, if only Jenkins and South Floyd would drop out.

How do you know its a runner up finish? Pikeville will be the team to beat but they lost a lot and it will be a more competitive game this year than in 2015. Pikeville does return several skill kids who played a lot last season and will make them tough. Hazard does return a solid group of young men and hopefully injuries do not set back the team in 2016.

Winner or runner up, they better gear up for the gauntlet they'll have to run in that two game stretch of their district. Seriously, I don't see how they've done it all these years.

Yea they gotta gear up and be ready.

Come on bac, the dude is trolling you. Not a good troll but he's trying.
#70
Yea it's exactly the same gauntlet Pikeville has to deal with year in and year out. As years go by watch out of district schedules.
2017 will be a dandy to gauge level of competition.

I know. Sometimes you just got to go with it. Nice to see ya back.. Didn't know if ya would keep up with it or not. I am excited to see this young bunch get on the field next year and I must say this freshmen class that will be sophomores has the mean streak of wanting to hit people and be the hazard from 2006-2012. It seemed like everyone wanted to hit you in those year but the past. 3 years the teams haven't been same but is am not knocking the kids who did bring it. There just wasn't enough kids who did. I expect Hazard to try to be the aggressor this year.

2016 should even out but Pikeville is favorite. But in 2017-2018 Hazard will be favorite.

I don't. I just expect Hazard to be the team with the most experience.

I expect different then I suppose. 3 year starter running the show has experience written all over it.

Yes he will have experience but he will have inexperience at reciever his senior year. Him and Rhodes and I believe will be the only seniors in 2017 unless more kids come out.

Receiver is the deepest position for the Panthers #Loaded

Who is going to be his targets in 2017? 2016 is loaded with capable recievers and players. They all will be young in 2017.

He won't have any  Panthers don't have a shot in 17' & 18'
It's the Bulldogs Region we're just living in it :notworthy:notworthy:notworthy.

Let's get back to the 16' season it's still 4 months away

Pikeville was much better last year than anyone else. Period. Holding on to that status will not be easy most likley. Never know how kids will develop but it's a new year Freshmen and sophs grow up. More than one team will be much better in the east.

Who said they didn't have any shot? I'm just pointing out that Hazard will have the more experienced team and be the favorite. No need in thinking or getting your feelings hurt.

But back to 2016 where Pikeville is the favorite until beaten.
Oh I do want to ask a question? I couldn't find where these teams played in grade school in 2012. I know they didn't play in 2013 either but picked back up in 2014-2015.

I agree. They lost a lot of talent and production but return a good amount of skill players but losing a back like Pugh will hurt. I agree 5 teams got a chance in 2016.

Teams returning most of their starters I THINK would be:
1)Hazard 2)Raceland 3)Harlan 4)Williamsburg 5) pineville
Think maybe that's the most returning
Hazard must replace 2 linebackers 1 D end
And Quarterback. Everyone else back.
#84
2014 Hazard middle 35 Pikeville 8 at pikeville

redstone1127 Williamsburg lost 13 senior 10 of them was starter. Will only have 6 senior this year. Maybe two starter in senior class.

Williamsburg is a year away. Line is real young

How bout lets get through his JR year first....

And Pikeville middle was 1 play from a state championship in 2015. Not that any of that matters. Hazard has to dig out of a running clock in the 1st half hole and Pikeville has averaged about 1000 yds/game vs Hazard. The gap can be made up over time but the gap is huge.
#89
Last year there was a huge gap. It's not last year anymore. Still Hazard will not have room for injuries like they experienced last year or it will be very tough. If no one is lost it may be a dogfight.

Or may not be. Pikeville offense will go up and down the field all night vs. Hazard. The Bulldogs' O will have to try to keep up.
