Pulaski County 41 Highlands 31
#31
:insane:
Forever Maroon Wrote:Never dreamed a little ol' finesse team from Pulaski County could do what they did to Highlands. I guess that misconception was put to rest after tonight. This PC bunch bowed its neck and smashed Highlands on the O & D lines in the 2nd half. Proud of this group os young men! Never quit... NEVER! I wonder what the Highlands head coach has to say about Jake Johnson as a WR now? Had some not so flattering words about him this past week.

I would say he is saying Johnson is a nice player but the Gregory kid killed us today.

Before playoffs started I said these would be state champs. So far its possible 1A-Beechwood 2A-Mayfield 3A-Belfry 4A-South Warren 5A Toss up PC or BG 6A-Male

Well we all get what we waited so long for. A rematch of the best two teams in 5A over the last few years. I expect this will be the closest game yet betwern these these two great programs. Great coaching and lots of talent should make for one of the best games of the weekend. I'd just like to say good luck to both teams before the mud slinging starts.
#34
Congrats coach Hines! The coolest voice in coaching in the state. Lol.
#35
🎂 all gone PC menu

PC was down in games during the season. Once 21 to 0. But always were able to comeback and win. That's the sign of a good team and good coaching no matter who you are playing. So their comeback against HHS was no surprise.

Well said, could not agree more!

I think #2 showed why he is the best receiver in the state. UK better jump on that kid fast. He has as good as hands as anyone they have up there right now and why in the world is PC QB getting overlooked by some of these bigger schools? How much more does he have to prove? Also the Gregory kid might be best all around athlete in the state.
#39
Gregory, Johnson , and Hall are all great high school players but they are not good enough athletes to win an SEC East Title with.

Georgia, Tennessee, Florida all have better defenses than Scott Co., Highlands and North Laurel and are equally as good as Southwesterns. (tongue in cheek)

The same kid that is the best receiver in Kentucky, might be the 100th best receiver in Florida, the 200th best receiver in Texas.....etc... its a big world out there outside of Eastern Kentucky.

Don't tell dogpeterjumper that, he says Hall has offers from Memphis and Tulane and Johnson is going to Vandy or Wisconsin. Sorry, not gonna happen. Both are outstanding for Eastern KY, but that only makes you NAIA.

Can't really say for all the others but, if Highlands QB is going to Central Michigan, Riley Hall is definitely D1 talent. If you watched that game last night Riley Hall was better than the D1 QB from the Bluebirds.

So you are stereotyping Eastern Ky football? Johnson and Hall have produced on the big stage 3 straight years. Doesnt have to be an SEC school but they are definitely good enough to play at the very least MAC football somewhere . Their numbers speak for themselves
#43
If PC doesn't turn the ball over twice and have a TD called back. It's not even close.

HHS QB will never see the field in college. No mobility, goes down in pocket with light breeze and throws good pass once every 10 throws. PC QB is much better, but no D1 either.

So I guess if Damian Harris had lived 30 miles further south he would be playing for Union or Campbelsville? It's not like nobody from this area hasn't gone D1 before, Mitten from SW went to UK,Cole from SHS went to Vandy(and Johnson is better than Cole was),Massy,Price older players but still went to UK! That's just to name a few! Daulton from SW is on a visit to UK today as we speak! So tell me again why a Kid from Eastern KY can't go D1? O yeah wasn't their a guy by the name of Couch from Eastern Ky?
#47
Riley Hall may not be 6'4" like all the D1 prospects, but he has the intangibles and the drive to win. It makes me sick to my stomach to see this guy not get an offer. You know who else isn't 6'4"? Drew Brees, Russell Wilson, Flutie, and the list goes on.

I understand this is Eastern KY, but you cannot ignore this guys stats and decorated career as a QB. He's went thru hardships (injuries) and came out on top. I understand that might be why the D1s shy away, but you cannot tell me that with another couple years in a weight program and having the drive he has, he won't be successfull. Because he WOULD.

As I watch Barker for UK not able to hit a receiver in the numbers on a simple hitch route this afternoon, you can't overthink height-weight in recruiting. Why UK wouldn't take a chance on Hall is frustrating. He's a great kid from an amazing family who would ONLY improve UKs morale in the locker room, not to mention be a hometown hero from fans all over the state.

Over 10,000 passing yards and going to the State Championship game for the 3rd time in a row. He's the best in the state and has been, I may be bias but his wins speak.

But go ahead UK/WKU/EKU - skip out on a stellar young man with character and potential in order to offer those kids from FL with a little more height, you always do.

Ledger and Durham from Rockcastle went to UK

PC folks are gonna say Johnson was better than Cole. Somerset folks will say Cole was better than Johnson. Southwestern folks gonna say they were equally good. Now I ask you, what were Coles career stats at Vandy? How much of an impact did he make at Vandy?

I see Johnson and Hall being able to play for EKU.

I absolutely agree, but I see them having more productive careers at a level lower than that.

Where's all the other Birds fans on here?

Not sure about his career stats but I do know he was a starter his Jr. and Sr year but that's beside the point! Kids in this area are capable of going D1!
#53
No way Hall and Johnson can play for EKU.
Why?
Because EKU won't give them a chance because they ain't from another state like Fla or Ga.

These two could be home grown Heros if given the chance.

See I was thinking Cole saw the field more as a freshman and sophomore and rarely played as a senior. I could be wrong though.

I agree Hall and family are great people. But why would UK offer him? What does he do better than Barker or Toles? You might answer win but didn't they both win in HS? Sorry but UK doesn't need to use a scholly on him. At UK his contribution would be holding up a towell shielding the offensive call from the opponents spy.

You are biases and that's ok. I was biased when I thought Scott Blair and DT Boone were good enough to play for UK

Maybe if their families hurry up and move to Fla or Ga EKU might recruit them. :please:

I looked it up Cole played in 1-10-11-2 =24 games
Had about 750 yards in receptions.

Anyone would help UK after the meltdown against U of L. They are terrible
#59
We need a 6'4 QB that can run or throw. And with our OFF. Line running is probably more important than throwing.

Didn't really keep up with Cole in college I think he got hurt his Sr year but the point is he was good enough for D1 and so is Johnson. Hall is a toss up because of his size I'll give you that!! As far as Blair I believe he was good enough to play D1 but not sure about Boon! Were did those guys go?
