Danville at Somerset
#31
Cellking Wrote:Somerset pretty good speed. If Danville has 4 kids faster than Doan, 2 Cornetts and Hatcher then they have 4 burners. If my memory serves me right Somerset had beat Danville 5 straight times until year before last and Jumpers had a very questionable holding call last year to bring a td back that would have won the game. Don't count Jumpers out.:Shaking::Shaking: Don't count Rabbits out.

Danville has 6 to 7 kids that are absolute burners, Boyle had a running clock on Danville but believe me the ADS are light years ahead of last years team.

danville should win this one.. 35-14 type score.

Somerset in a close game.

So let me see if I have this right.

Somerset has defeated one team with 0 wins

and 3 teams with 1 win.

The Jumpers beat a 1 win Rockastle by 1 one point. (Meanwhile Danville spanked them by 28 in a game that wasn't that close.

Danville has given the only loss Campbellsville has by a running clock.

The Ads beat Corbin badly, 20-0 at Corbin.

Now if you have a "gut instinct" that Somerset wins, fine. But don't think it comes from a comparison of what the two have accomplished on the field this year.

While I can't argue with the statistical value of your post I will say this: Somersets passing game was wiped out in the rock game due to weather conditions. Rocks interior is pretty good, but their secondary is suspect at best. Danville beat rock through the air, as they have all of their opponents this year. Somerset likely would have been able to do the same thing had it been a dry night (I realize that's just part of the game but with Somersets receiving core and quarterback it's likely true that they would've scored a couple more times had it been dry).

The Corbin game is the one that scares a jumper fan, Corbin is big and physical and the ads handled them easily.

Danville will see at least a modicum of speed to match their own this week, not at all positions but at the skill positions they will certainly. This game will come down to who makes fewer mistakes. I don't know if you can compare a very wet night with rock (vs Shs) and a very dry night with rock (vs Danville) in this one.

Not saying in any way that Somerset is the better team, they're just more equipped speed wise to match up with Danville than most, they also play a similar style which helps in preparation.

This game could very well be a blowout, who knows, but based on past (recent) history I think it suggests otherwise. Somerset SHOULD be 5-1, as they should've beaten Hazard at Hazard but that win eluded them with a last second Hail Mary, that would've given them at least one quality win going into the matchup with Danville. Looking forward to Friday, I hope it's a great game... Go jumpers!

The only thing I would highlight is that Danville beat Corbin on a horrible night of weather as well. Still, the bigger team did not score or move the ball vs the Ads.

Im surprised some thinks Somerset will win or even keep it close. Danville is every bit as good as the Beechwood team that won handily over Somerset.
#38
Somerset will be ready for this game. They are capable of winning it and not getting any respect. Now if Danville blows Somerset out I will admit I'm wrong.

No, they're not.

Somerset has a fantastic coaching staff and will have the Jumpers ready to play against a very good Danville team.

I have nothing but respect for Danville but I am pulling for my friends at Somerset in this one... I'll go with the Jumpers in an all out battle 26-20. Go get it Jumpers!!!

True. The "bigger" team also laid the ball on the ground 8-9 times. Like you, I think the Ads are a solid favorite, but won't be shocked if it's decided in the 4th quarter.

No, Beechwood is better than Danville this year. Likely by 2 scores.

Having watched both teams whip up on the rock. I think Danville comes out a winner speed kills and they have it. If its a bad weather game where the speed guys cant cut then it will be a very interesting game
#45
Somerset has speed at the skill positions but not the overall team speed to match up with Danville.
