I hope for his sake that he has established his new address before he enrolls at South Laurel. If not, he will have a hard time getting eligible to play, and I would hate to see him end up spending his Sr. season like Collier had to at North Laurel last year.

13th region should be the strongest overall in the mountains next year.
06-12-2015, 10:35 PM
I agree
Clay and South should be No. 1 and No. 2 in the mountains going into the season.
I thought Perry was the best 14th Region team I saw in a camp at Hazard, but they would be behind those two and maybe North and Barbourville.

I had heard that he did, kind of surprises me considering Corbin has so many good guards. I believe they live in the Corbin area and is friends with some of the Corbin kids, so did that play a role in his switching or was he unhappy at South? Will he contribute this year?

He played alot this summer for corbin. I think he will help this year. good shooter handles good got to get stronger is all

I don't know. I thought Corbin looked unusually thin last year for them, just playing seven in about every game I saw, and two of those graduated. I heard they looked good this summer, but I didn't get to see them.

Chase sanders is going to be a Heck of a basketball player. Just curious will he play football at Corbin.

The South Laurel transfer Chase Sanders, was not unhappy at South from what I heard. He had family at Corbin? Heard he would of been a reserve coming off the bench for South this year? Sounds like he can play because South, is loaded.

I talked to chase dad. He said it's just got to hard to do They live basically 30 mins from south and his mom and dad do a lot of work at their church in Corbin. Spent slot of time just getting him to games practices etc that it just got to be to much on them all.
07-02-2015, 03:26 AM
64 it would surprise me big time if chase played football.

Andrew Griffith!! South, will win the 13th region or should. I'm hearing Clay county, may up the stakes a little?? Could be interesting?
07-17-2015, 03:35 AM
Not a CHANCE. The JAGS will win the Region! South is overrated and don't have the Coaching or Bench to get out of the Region let alone the district.
07-17-2015, 03:12 PM
And North Laurel has the coaching and the bench??? Considering they haven't gotten out of the district lately I wouldn't count my chickens before they hatch.....OBI...OBI...OBI.....

Did anyone see Whitley play this summer?

You mean besides me?
Whitley is in the 3-9 group with North, Barbourville, HCHS, Corbin, Knox and Bell.
When I saw them at Harlan County, they were missing several players but still competitive.
I think they could be as good as last year, especially if Rice works out at center. I thought they missed a great shot last season to win the district.

Watched Whitley, couple of times against different teams in the 13th, better not over look them especially at home. Don't see anyone beating South Laurel, this year in district play, Whitley and Corbin will be a tough battle between the two for district runner up ?' with district at Whitley'? I think Whitley, is a team watch in the region like Harlan co. With all the questions around Barbourville, coaching changes, I'd move them up a spot from 6 to 5.

Whitely is really really good. District will be a dog fight between them and Corbin. Corbin has a slight edge.

I give Whitley, the slight edge with Rice and home court advantage? Again never under estimate Coach P?
