mysonis55 Wrote:Doug, that is the wrong answer. Watch your film. The burg flowed to the ball, which is also called over pursuing. Especially when either Tyler or Bright got the ball. We knew that coming in. Look back at 2012 vs Fairview. They did the same thing and we had Dillon Reed do what I am referring to and it was a wide open grand slam of a homerun.
Williamsburg had you worried.pretending like Mayfield didnt play their harderst and held back is a sickening display of arrogance and poor sportsmanship.especially when they squeaked past the Jackets. I watched the game. Cardinals were on the ropes.

It was a great game. I never said we were not concerned. I said we didn't have to reach into the bag too far. That is the difference between being there a lot and not. Every time we go, we have certain packages that we have not yet used in a game or maybe only one or two times. They are things that in desperation we can resort to. We truly had those and did not go in that bag. It would be crazy to think it wasn't a great game. I just posted somewhere that it will go down with the great championship games like 93 vs Pburg, 95 vs Beechwood or 02 vs Beechwood.

Amen I took a jab at Williamsburg last year after the game to pay back a certain fanbase particularly one poster. It was completely a joke, then everyone made a big deal about it and come at me like the confederates charging Shiloh, then of course me having no filter I let them have it, and get in trouble. Some people can say what they want, but don't like it when someone from another fanbase takes there turn poking.

Of course, you immediately are the bad person if you are from the west. Far less westerners.

any time you go into overtime in a championship game you are reaching into the bag and giving all you have. to say otherwise is insulting to the opposing team.

Doug, we can just agree to disagree as usual.
04-18-2015, 04:58 AM
Killbilly, I love that shirt. We need to have one made up for 64 when we see him at Lindsey Wilson. We can give it to him just after he goes 0-3 against the Cards.
04-18-2015, 05:52 AM
We never did make him take a picture with a Mayfield shirt. That one would look good on him. You could even change it to say 64 is owned by the Mayfield Cardinals.

Anyone know if Kash may get an offer from UK. He is on the catspause website.
04-18-2015, 06:38 PM
I kind of expect them to, but wouldnt be suprised if they didnt. Stoops had a really good projected recruiting class again, but Kash is definitely going to end up somewhere good. Is he being looked at at LB or QB for these other schools? Could also see him being moved to TE with his strength and leaping ability.

2. Raceland ( Scotty_Bronson you are the man have a heart for jetpilot )

4. Williamsburg ( man this hurt alot.)
5. Harlan Ind ( May have the best record in the first 10 games )
6. Hazard ( Rebuiding for sure, help is on the way ? )
7. Pineville ( Best 1A qb in the east )
8. Fairview ( who knows for sure )
9. Williamsburg ( saving a spot at #9 )
10. Williamsburg ( Remove the 0 from 10 and williamsburg could shocked 1A in the east )

I think 1-3 are on point. But Hazard is too low, they picked up a few additions that will help replace Jones/Morgan. Pikeville has alot coming back and a few kids have moved into their area and enrolled at Pikeville, a reciever to fill in where estep left off, so I expect them to be pretty damn good. Paintsville, shouldbe tough, but I think the "ooh lah lah" of Kash Money Daniel is beefing them up a bit. Offensively, Kash isnt as big of a factor as he is on the defensive side of the ball, not saying he isnt a playmaker , but he isnt a Chris Jennings who can almost single handedly destroy a team on his own. Phelps returning helps and the Tigers should be a factor come play off time, but Im not sold on them based on Kash alone. Last year they had arguably a better backfield, but there is alot of time between now and Week 1.
I think Pineville and Harlan will be improved, but not enough to be that high just yet . Id still put Hazard and Fairview over them.
My whole 1A looks like this:
1. Beechwood
2. Pikeville/Raceland (cant figure these two out just yet)
3. Russellville
4. Paintsville
5. Hazard
6. Williamsburg
7. Fairview
8. Pineville
9. Harlan
10. Paris
With a definite 2/3 of Raceland and Pikeville, Paris goes and everyone else drops a spot. There are no "sure things" for me this year. Many of the Pikeville/Raceland faithful tooted horns far too early last year .

1. Beechwood
2. Raceland
3. Pikeville
4. Russellville
5. Frankfort
6. Paintsville
7. Hazard
8. Williamsburg
9. Paris
10. Any number of teams
1A is the only class this year that I think is essentially a near "Can't miss" for one team. With that said it will be an absolute dogfight to see who will act as tribute in the Championship. I honestly think Beechwood will be in a class all their own.
Raceland to me has the most complete team returning.. but Pikeville has the best individual chess pieces. Paintsville has the best player, Russellville has the most upside, and Frankfort has the most athleticism.
With respect to bac2369 I simply am not feeling the Hazard vibe right now. They lost their superstar RB who carried the Bulldogs on his backs most of the season, they also lost their talented QB. As long as Dixon is at Hazard there will be a quality product on the field..but I struggle to see Hazard having the individual playmakers necessary to hang with some very stout competition in the East.

I think they show marked improvement... but the gap is way to wide to close against some quality programs in their district and region. I think a 2 seed and home playoff game is very much within reach and probably even a 2nd Round advancement. Just cant see them beating Wburg, Paintsville, or Raceland though come November.
I think they are firmly in the 12-16 range in the class though and will not be a pushover for whoever does finally eliminate them.

Cant believe I left Frankfort out. Id put them somewhere in the top 5 or so. Outside of Beechwood (and possibly including them) things are really goina be a dogfight in 1A. Especially in the East though. The big 5, Rams, Tigers, Dawgs, Jackets and Panthers, all lost some key guys, but bring back alot and some other pieces to replace those guys. As it stands right now, Raceland seems to be the deepest, having a few lineman playing only oneside of the ball and not having every RB double up as a LB as well. I know Pugh will likely play only one way, but guys like Kash will have to be a force on both sides of the ball. Any one else know of other guys playing strictly one side?

Hazard will most definitely have to adjust without Jones in the backfield. The smith kid should fill the void there but he will be no Jones. Ratliff will mostly likely be starter at QB and he is no Morgan but he is very good and has an good arm. Jacob Blanton will be back and hopefully he can stay healthy for a full season because Hazard lost him in the first game and he would of made a difference on both sides of the ball. I expect Hazard to throw it more but I could be wrong. Hazard will have very good skilled players returning but the defensive side is where they will need to improve. But I guarantee Hazard will be ready for playoff and expect some freshmen to play and contribute. Plus you never know if any of the county kids decide to come to hazard instead of PCC. But here is my rankings as of now.
1 Beechwood
2 Raceland
3 Paintsville
4 Pikeville
5 Hazard
5 Russellville
5 Frankfort
8 Williamsburg
9 Campbellsville
10 Louisville Holy Cross
