The 16th wasn't real impressive at the state tournament last year.
The 10th isn't really that impressive at all, other than Mason and Campbell. Many regions will have 2 really good teams then bottom out. The 13th isn't that bad it just doesn't have 2-3 top 20 teams. The 13th usually has 2-3 top 30 teams then several very talented squads. Smith, Farmer, Broughton, Carmical, and Taylor can play with anybody in the state.

I understand that Andrew Griffith will be going to South Laurel next year. That is going to boost their play by 110%!!

Clay and South then everybody else. North coming it at 3rd but will have to see it for once to believe it.

It's true I just got done watching south play barbourville and east jessamine. Andrew Griffith will be and was playing for south. And my eye test tells me south Laurel will be the 13th region #1 team. :worthy:

Griffith replaces Allen. Allen was tougher but Griffith is more skilled and much more athletic. South could be very good.

Dink resigned from something today . Not really sure from what he had 7 titles. They have had a big shakeup over there, his dad was let go a couple months ago. They are some new board member not happy with his salary. They have taken his vehicle from him,he is only allow to use it during school hours.

Dink was making more than anyone in the entire school system and I guess the school just couldn't afford it any longer. They will miss him on the bench though.

I watched some of the games yesterday and South with Griffith looked mighty impressive. The Anders kid looked like he has grew some, id say he's pushing 6'4-6'5. Looking forward to basketball season already.

So Griffith already has had a change of address, enrolled at South Laurel and been granted his eligibility by the KHSAA? That was quick.

I don't think he has to be eligible to play summer basketball.

Does he have to be enrolled at South Laurel to participate. I would think so due to liability issues.

No. You see it every summer. I've never understood it. How can you better your team if you play kids that's not going to be there when it counts. I thinks most of the time it's coaches hoping they will come.

Dinky will be back Oct 15 coaching the Tigers!
Set out 90 days starting July

Who will take up tickets and sell pop corn at Barbourville. Dinky wore a lot of hats and will be very hard to replace.

So he can ride the South Laurel bus when they play someone out of town, even though he is not enrolled there?

Clay county in my opinion is the favorite to win. The smith kid is for real

Wonder if they would let you play a few games with them this summer? Maybe just on the offensive end, would probably help the other 4 players become better defenders.

Still think Harlan Co will be one of the elite squads. Carmichael can play with anybody

I would think that riding school transportation and not enrolled in the school system would be a huge liability issue.
