Offensive line coming back is a lot more than you think usually there are only one at best coming back. Hergott will be better than all the haters think... the offense last year was set up for Beau. They will adjust the playbook to fit Hergott. I still think Highlands is at least a top 3 team. The Def is a question mark, the secondary will be strong lead by Beal. There are some good LBs coming back Def Line will be the factor. Pulaski, Cov Cath, BG and Highlands will be vying for the title. I am not sold on SW, cant really remember them making any noise last year. is Owenesboro in 5A? if so they would be in the mix too.Scott County plays both Pulaski county and Highlands this year I am pretty sure. That would be a decent guage on how each will fare for the season and how close they are competitive wise.

And no I have no kids on team, just love HS sports. Just pointing out that Vennaman is an all around good athlete. He was a good receiver partly due to being faster than any defender on him ( defenses either got burned on the long pass or would play off him and give up a ton of short passes. I remember one game HHS started off the game with 3 or 4 straight quick passes to him because the D was playing so far off him.). You do know what kind of season he had his JR year? He did not sneak up on anybody his SR year. Not saying there are not some good athletes in those classes, but the number of good athletes is way down.
Hey, I am the first one to say I hope I am wrong and HHS continues to dominate, but I just do not see that happening the next year or two.
Oh trust me, I know parents exaggerate. So Vennaman is a good all around athlete, based upon what? Track? He is on the baseball team, but so are others. What kind of junior year did he have? I seem to remember Feggins having a ton of catches. Not hard to be the top receiver when 9 out of 10 balls are thrown your way. There are some very good athletes that play 3 sports and play them well if I am not mistaken, in the few classes just below this senior class which was not special by any sense of the word.

Highlands has a new qb but he is 6'6 225 pounds with a great arm and his dad was a great qb also.

Pulaski County will repeat as state champs no question! We return almost every player. The rest of the state can just sit back, relax and watch us repeat. Highlands don't scare us and certainly not SW.

He does have good size, but has not shown that he can be accurate and is not a very good runner.
his dad was a good not great athlete and was a RB his JR year and do not think he switch to QB his SR year.

Nice way to cut down a high school kid and his dad. Wow!!!!
And I guess you and all of your kids are great athletes??????????????
How many times have you seen the kid play football? Any ideas of what he is doing in the offseason? I am hearing that he is training with Tony Pike at Beacon, formerly D1 training. I sure hope when he does a good job this year that you do not get on here and tell us how great he is because that would be rather hypocritical don't you think?

I consider Hergott from HHS an above average runner. A 220lb. quarterback running read option behind Hebel et. al. makes me smile.

Cutting down? Really? After watching him for past 2 years, I stated what others have also stated. Is he working hard in off season and can he show great improvement? Yes, other HHS QB's have shown great improvement from JR to SR years, and I hope he does too! But just stating his flaws at this time when some one else wanted to paint him as the next Peyton Manning. And if he improves and plays great it would not be hypocritical to get on here and state that. It would just show him maturing, and hard work allowed him to improve. I hope he has a great year because they are going to need him to.
As for his Dad, he is a super nice guy, but I would still say a good not great athlete, How is that cutting him down?

Love his size and he will do fine running the ball. I just wonder if we will see a different style of O by HHS if he does not prove accurate enough to throw the ball as much as they have over the past decade.

I'll take these 5 teams and give you the field: Pulaski, Bowling Green, Highlands, Southwestern, & CovCath. Should be a battle this season. Looking forward to it.

Fellas, Graves County won't be in the top ten of any class this year. They may make the top five of their district. They lost just about everything.
