Can we also just stop for a second and consider the fact that most A-list coaches wouldn't want a job at South Floyd simply because of the location? You guys have a decent coach who has made a pretty good name for himself. You might not get any comparable applicants if you let him go.

And this thread sounds like it began from parents and players whose feelings are hurt over a more talented kid getting playing time over them/theirs. I don't know about the rest of my fellow coaches on here -- but my kids sign an agreement at the beginning of the season stating that playing time is not open for discussion and any complaints will be "rewarded" with even less playing time. It seems to help prevent situations like these.

Only reason it's not open for discussion is because he is not allowed to take the tacketts out I was suprised the world didn't end with he took one of the tacketts out during the Letcher game

do any of u people on here see us lose most of our games, so no other coach would even let them boys off the hill, and any other coach would have taken them somewhere to , basketball is about winning games and if u cant do that make a position so u can get a coach like everyone else does , u cant just go get a teacher and make him a coach u got to have the right personality he is to easy going ,

That consolidation could take years. I don't agree with you that they will wait. Let's just say the school isn't done for 3 or 4 years. Would they wait then??

However, I think the coach at South Floyd has done a tremendous job with the hand he's been dealt. This is obviously a disgruntled player or parent controlling those two accounts. If it is a player, then I highly suggest some work on your grammar before you try to get better at basketball. There's only one job that should be opening in Floyd County anyways and it's not SF.

I don't think they are and he knows the people posting on here and they're not bad but evidently frustrated over lack of playing time which goes with basketball. I think as a season goes along frustration of playing time, dressing for games etc. build up. Parents and family are usually the ones frustrated but it is better to have a meeting with a coach and talk in person without ripping him on a social network. Season ends in the next couple of weeks and then is the time to address any concerns or what the plans for the future hold. Every school in the state has parent situations arise which they handle it in their own way.

They have 2 players, the Tackets. The rest are either too young or not very skilled.

I don't think anyone's a bad person and I understand frustration as I said before. I also believe they have more than role players past the Tackett kids and when they get down the bench a little they are young. The sophomore Collins kid is impressive and going to continue to get better. Again though the season is coming to an end and next year will be better, I don't want any of our kids going someplace else to play because we have a good group coming. I really didn't have a bet with Holbrook either! See everyone at the game

I hate to agree with them, but there are only 2 good players on that team. The two Tackett boys.
