Will Johnson Central beef up the schedule next year?

I look for it to happen maybe in the next cycle of scheduling if nothing changes with our current contracts. That would probably put us in week 1 in 16 or weeks 2-4 starting in 17. Always enjoyed our teams playing Coach Haddix.

So what teams are on the schedule and what wk?

As of now we are probably looking for one more game once the contract is signed. A huge get and a great test early on but I will wait to release it when the rest of the schedule is finalized. The schedule will remain the same with the exceptions of Week 6 which is now filled with district team East Carter and weeks 2 and 3. The rest of the schedule will play out like last years just changing the location.

If it meant going to Cincinnati for just one game, I would go do it. JC is the best team east of the KY River. Go play Trinity. Go beat them on their home field if you want some true respect. JC has the kids to do it with. Go play the big boys even if its one game a year. Will only help you against Cov Cath and Highlands at the end.

JC could beat Trinity, Highlands, Cov. Cath. and St. X on their home fields.....
and it would be our luck that they were all having "off years"

Last season... we SPANKED Belfry, the 3A state champs, 58-24 at the CAM.

Like to see maybe a;

Even a Letcher Central or Madison Central
Lexington Catholic or Boyle co.

Did the Boyle County series once as home and home.

Blowout and a close one at "Johnsonville."

Pulp, I continue to believe that JC has to step up and play a few years out of their "home and home" comfort zone. That will see how they stack up in the rest of the state and set them up for going further IMO.

Agreed and I think it helped us out in the long run during those years.

I've witnessed first hand how hard it is for JC to schedule better teams that are outside of Eastern Ky. No one wants to travel to EKY to play. The man is giving it his best shot to bring some tough games to Johnson County though.

Who is wk 1 with ?

I don't make the football schedule for JC.

I would love to see JC invade Trinity, St. X or Bowling Green.

Does US 23 only go one way or does JC not have a way to transport their team to an away game. Quit whining and go play somebody. JC is the most overrated team in the state every year. They play weak teams and run the score up. The key ingredient to your ranking is how bad you beat people, and believe me you guys have a coach that loves to rub it in. There is not 1 class of the 6 in the KHSAA that JC could contend in. :gtfo:

First when you say ," believe me" why should anyone on this sight believe you? YOU have been nothing but a troll on this sight. Your "penis envy" regarding JC and Coach Matney is enormous. If you would (can) go back and read my previous post where I drew the geographic area for teams that JC had contacted about 90 % of them to play week 2 or 3. Do you see any team in the geographic area wants a game to post a name and number for a call back. However, many names or numbers you see posted? Keep slapping your chops because haters will be haters.

The same weak teams that are in the 3A state title game for the 5th consecutive year that put it on you all two years in a row?

Taking what you said "go pay the big boys" like Cov Cath did the past 5 years. 20014 Away Moeller Lost 39-0, 2013 Home Moeller 45-7 Lost, Away LaSalle 2012 27-11 Lost, 2011 Home LaSalle 41-10 Lost, and 2010 Away LaSalle 50-7 Lost. You tell me in what way did this helped Cov Cath?

CC experience several serious injuries due to this games. JC only dresses 40 to 50 Varsity players. CC dresses 85 to 90 Varsity, thus 1 injury to JC teams would be like 2 or 3 to CC. This would cripple JC for possible the rest of the year.

Last if JC could get a home and away game with a top 300 / 700 team we would do it. But in no way does this playing one game on the road have any logic to it. So you tall me a better word to use to describe you post other then "stupid"?

Our problem in scheduling is not limited to the high school. Our middle school program is in the exact same situation. Other than conference games, we contact other middle school programs that are close and offer to play but we get the same answer, NO. That is why over the last three years, our middle school has had to travel to Harrodsburg, Louisville, Richmond, Somerset, Mount Sterling, Morehead, Manchester, Whitesburg, Stanton and Ironton. We would love to fill out a schedule with Martin County, Lawrence County, Boyd County, Ashland Verity, Paintsville, Pikeville, Shelby Valley, etc. but for some reason it doesn't happen. We have to do what we do to fill our schedule and so does the high school. Over the last 5 years our middle school system has 3 state championships and two state runners up at either the 7th or 8th grade level. Can't wait until our high school plays in a state championship game, and it WILL happen and see what the constant complainers say then.

I'm not picking at JC because in all honesty they are by far the best team in the area, but look at what you just stated. Your middle school has traveled to Harrodsburg, Richmond, Louisville, Somerset, etc. They have won 3 state titles and two runner-ups. Maybe the high school should also travel to play better competition.

Bingo!

I have contacted schools through both email and phone in Harrodsburg, Richmond, Louisville, Lexington, Somerset, Bell County, etc. None have dates that matched or simply decided not to respond to voicemails or emails. Week 2 next season is a definite plus as far as schedule difficulty is concerned.

Dale, have contacts been made with Highlands and/or Covington Catholic about a two or four-year contract, now that they are no longer in JC's region? It would be great for the 4A state champions to own a win over the 5A state champions at some point in the next few seasons.

Good luck with that.

Myself, I have not personally contacted them but others that are searching may have done so. The teams I have contacted have posted openings via listserv or in their respective state's association open date boards.

Thanks, but I don't think luck will have anything to do with the win when it happens.

You said "a win over the 5A state champions". In a year when either of those two WINS a 5A championship it will take WAY more than luck for JC to not be embarassed.

5A does not look particularly strong this season and from what I have heard about Highlands' upcoming talent, this may be as good as it gets for awhile. Johnson Central is a program on the rise, whether you want to believe it or not.

We don't want to travel, we have to travel. The varsity has Friday or Saturday night access to our field. With varsity, junior varsity and freshman football plus girls soccer, boys soccer and middle school soccer we just struggle for field time. These teams have a lot of game and practice times that utilizes the field. If we could play at the schools I listed, we could cut our expenses in half or greater.

So if Covington Catholic or Highlands wins a 5A championship "this season" (I assume you mean in 2015) and JC wins it all in 4A, JC should be given both trophies because "5A does not look particularly strong".

"from what I have heard about Highlands' upcoming talent' I bet you heard the same thing going into this season and it was true. CC was really down mostly due to injuries and we saw how that worked out for you.

"Johnson Central is a program on the rise" Seems we've heard that before.

Just be thankful they are gone and you will be competing in a watered down 4A because although JC has proven they can handle one once in a while, they may never be able to handle both in the same season.

It is so nice to see condescending Highlands fans such as yourself give such great scheduling advice to a program like Johnson Central.

I fully expect that when Johnson Central wins its first state title, fans like you will flood the Johnson Central threads to remind everybody that the Golden Eagles did not win a title while your beloved Bluebirds were in 4A. I believe that I read the same kind of comments when Bowling Green was compiling its long winning streak in 5A the past couple of seasons.

BTW, I will not be competing in any class next season. I enjoy watching and listening to games, but I never confuse a sports team's success with my own. For that, I am thankful.

I apologize, the YOU was inadvertent. Like you, I NEVER say WE when a team I follow wins or loses.

I have not been condecending nor have I given scheduling advice anywhere in this thread. I challenge you to find anything I have posted in this thread that is factually incorrect.

I really don't care if CC is on the Eagles schedule or not because the Blue Colonels are evil, but I would love to see the clash of the birds continue.
