Good Job Raceland!

Really nice performance by the defense tonight. I fully expected to see at least a bit of fireworks from the Paintsville arsenal, but luckily we were able to avoid almost any big plays. Good luck to the Tigers in the playoffs. They will definitely do some damage.
#34
How many times did Paintsville throw??
#35
According to the Ashland Independent's web site, the Tigers were 7 of 16 for 25 yards and no INT's.

Almost every pass that was thrown was done with someone in Kash's face, knocked down by DBs, or underpressure. What I couldnt understand is having a guy with wheels to get past any DB we had, and not getting him down field. Every rt he ran was a 7-10 yd dig. He went down field once, then Kash through a short dig pass to his first read.

Paintsville just couldt get anything going at all. Penalties hurt them on their first 2 possessions. The safety, followed by the ensuing drive and score seemed to instantly break the tigers stride and spirit.

Kash is a workhorse and just an all around tough ass kid. Offensively, He seemed to spend more time on the ground than in the pocket, he had a few decent runs for 7 or 8 yards, but for the most part was kept down at the LOS. What impressed me was his play at LB after taking the beating he was taking. Idk if anyone else made a tackle in the first quarter.

Penalties... LMAO!! Congrats to the Rams..

Congrats to Raceland on the win, my understanding was Kash came out of the game late in the fourth with cramps and was not knocked out, Belcher reaggravated the hamstring that's what I was told. I was surprised Raceland was that small all over the field but they just had better athletes and beat us, and really the score was about right.

Congrats Rams! It's impressive to see how competitive the 1A is in the east this year. I think raceland proved tonight they have as good a chance as any to make it to bowling green. I think they may have one of, if not the best defensive backfield in 1A this year? They have the athletes to shut down most anyone's passing game as well as being able to contain anything around the ends. Very impressive group of kids.

We are small but very strong and very quick to the football. Sorry to hear about Belcher, but glad to hear Kash was simply cramping. Noticed him limping for quite awhile before he finally went down. Glad to hear it wasnt a knee. He is one tough kid. D1 size to play either position imo. He is a very good LB.

Your right TB Belcher pulled the hamstring on the opening kickoff and Kash was cramping. The tiger didn't play well. and give credit to the rams their a good claas A football team..

I want to gove kudos to Isaac Wallace and Jerome Hall and Morgan Carmen. I had the pleasure of coaching Jerome and Isaac in JFL. Great kids that are as kind and respectful as they can be off the field. But as soon as they step on the field they are real turds lol. Morgan is an extremely quick big man and played great o defense last night in shutting down his edge. Paintsville tried shooting the knees on Jerome and Isaac not to hurt them or play dirty, but to try and create any lanes they could to get their LBS in the gaps, and they simply manhandled them. All three of these boys, along with Bailey Walker and Nathaniel Davidson are just a small part of a very tallented sophomore class. Smash mouth football is alive and well for many years to come. Couple that with the atheletes in the Frosh and JR class and I dont see much of a drop off in Raceland for many years.

Again, Paintsville is on the verge of making a turn, they just simply ran into a muc quicker team last night. As always, Chirico and Co were class acts. I think the refs were a little over the top w the flags on both sides. Good luck to the Tigers the rest of the way.

Raceland's defense played one heck of a game last night, and after reading the paper, wow! The Tigers had 111 yards off total offense, Belcher had 16 yards rushing, Hendricks had 2 yards rushing and Daniels 53 yards rushing, that's impressive to hold that trio to those numbers.

I think the Rams are peaking at the right time.

But still yet to put 4 quarters of solid football together. That will come back to bite us if we dont play better in the 3rd quarter.

Told U guys, best team in area, both sides of ball. Snowed, L. C. And I think L. C. Is third best team in area.

Phelps

Assuming a win vs. Phelps, the 2nd round opponent would then be the winner of South Floyd/Fairview, correct?

The key to beating Williamsburg is simple, Pass defense, if you have it that doesn't mean you will beat them, but, if you don't have it You will loose in A hurry. I have seen every game the only team that had A pass defense was Newport, that didn't beat us but it sure slowed us down.

You guys Are A much better team than I thought you were. Damn good win.

No, what are you talking about. DONT get your lingo explain so everyone can understand.

Ashland beats Raceland and then Johnson Central absolutely destroys Ashland. Then you state that Raceland is the best team in the area...I think he is asking you to define what teams comprise what you are stating as being "the area." You are being a little vague here,

Are you considering Belfry? Have you forgotten Pikeville?...Raceland also beat Lawrence much worse than they did Paintsville too..

I have to say, I'm wondering what you're thinking as well.

Ashland beat Raceland at the beginning of the season before they had really come together as a team. As the season has progressed Raceland has gradually improved and Ashland has regressed. If these two teams played again Raceland would probably win by at least two scores. I am not saying that Raceland could beat Johnson Central or Belfry but this Raceland team is playing much better than when Ashland played them. The playoffs in class A are shaping up to be some of the most exciting football in the state.

Hope Raceland has a great post season, Orange Blaze. There was no disrespect intended.....I just think that right now Central is probably in a class by themselves in this area...Now when they get into post season play, who knows.

My point in asking the question to 1,2,3 was wondering what he considered "the area". Perhaps he didn't include Johnson , Floyd, and Pike Counties...I was just wondering.

Nice win for the Rams, who seem to be doing what they need to do to continue posting wins.

Next week will be a big test if the good Ironton team shows up.

When I lived in Raceland, "the area" was considered the counties that the Daily Independent covered. That included Boyd, Greenup, Lawrence, Johnson, Carter and Rowan Counties.

With Central being included in that area then Lawrence and Paintsville should be as well? The Daily Independent Top Five should be fairly easy to figure out.....

1. Johnson Central
2. Raceland
3. Ashland
3a. Russell
5. Paintsville

Lawrence could have an argument for #5, but if Paintsville is included then I'd put them there first. Ashland and Russell are pretty similar and their game could have easily went either way, and that is why I think their in a dead heat for the #3 spot.
