Covington Catholic/Highlands Predictions

You're right, it's always tough losing to CovCath, luckily it's only happened 17 times in 62 tries.

This will be the first year in a long time I will unfortunately not be able to attend this game. The tide will turn this season in favor of the blue colonels during the regular season. Highlands hasn't faced a colonel team like this since probably 2006.

Cchs is well disciplined, takes good care of the football, and have too many weapons. Highlands is easy to game plan for by containing Hoge and doubling Venneman. I believe the birds weaknesses will be exposed and that one year out of 8-12 when the colonels upset.......that's this year!

I'm predicting a 1-2 TD win by the colonels. Both teams will have plenty of time to develop and meet again in the playoffs. Enjoy colonel and bluebird fans, it's your alls week to appear diplomatic and let all of us know how good you are. That's never been an issue with either program...Confusednicker:

Easy to game plan for , but can they execute it? Hodge has shown a very good ability to scramble and no one but Erpenbeck is fast enough to stay with Venneman. I do not believe Erpenbeck plays DB/Safety and if you put a defender in front and back of Veneman, you hope that another WR steps up and has a big game. More exciting heading into this game this year instead of the usual HHS should win fairly easily. I still say HHS wins but just not in blow out fashion.

sstack....the bell tolls. It wouldn't be any fun if you all won all the time!

It very well could, but I am sticking with the birds until CCH proves the are new man on top. Have you seen both teams play this year? Or are you just going by what you have seen one team do? The Henderson game is the game still leaving me questioning if CCH is ready to take over the crown.

Actually the blowout games in the first quarter do get a little boring. Should be fun tomorrow night!

Beau is a beast this year Alex will be fastest on the field. But they still have to execute. Highlands line must bring their A game. Birds defense can be questionable at times. You can move the ball running right at them. AKA Campbell County. I think Birds pull it out. But going to be close.

When was the last time that Covington Catholic beat Highlands? Anybody know.

2006, Cov Cath won 29-27 in the regular season and 25-15 in the playoffs. Highlands was 7-5 that year, but could still play with anybody. Cov Cath ended up winning the state title in 3A that season when there were only 4 classes.

Thank you for the information.

BoyleCounty, I want to say that they have six state titles in football but I have been wrong before. They won back to back twice in the late 80's and early 90's, and they also won in 1997 and 2006. Cov Cath won their first title in football in 1987.
