Hazard, Pikeville, and Raceland all have issues in the same area, but different locations. ARMTACKLING and Filling the right gaps. Raceland did a great job containing Ashland's run game in all but 3 plays. Armtackling and a lack of filling up the B/C gaps lead to Raceland's loss as Baker took off for 3 big td runs in the 2nd half. Hazard and Pikeville had the same problems, only theirs came in the D gaps and on the edges. Now , let me say this, I am in no way taking away from Mr Jones or Mr Pugh, those are two hard nosed runners. One of which has more speed than I thought, in Pugh. But alot of their numbers were on account of guys waiting for contact or armtackling to avoid contact. You cant do that on Runners like these. You have to HIT THEM before they hit you. It is still very early in the season and I know all three of the above mentioned teams can shore these things uo by November. Raceland, Pikeville, and Hazard are all on about the same level. All have things to work on, but all seem to have the natural speed, atheleticism, and strength to knock off Williamsburg, imo. All three have played well against good teams early on. Hats off to all 3 coachig staffs in preparing well in the offseason.

Coach Dixon will not have to sit any games....

KHSAA sent a message to Coach Dixon and Hazard saying that Coach Dixon does not have to sit because Dixon should not have been ejected.... Pretty much saying the ref got it wrong...

Did Pineville and the other teams write letters of support for him to KHSAA to get that overturned? nicker:
