I don't recall any names on the title of this thread other than SW and Belfry.

Keep it original :hilarious:

Dude that Lame A$$ comeback of" Keep it original" proves that you had no comeback in the first place :biglmao: But maybe one day I will be a sad upset fan because Belfry can't win a game and start Hating on the Team that is always winning and hanging Banners and playing after Thanksgiving., But I doubt it happening for at least another 5 years or even Longer...and during that time your team will still Suck A$$TongueirateShoTongueirateShoTongueirateSho

Belfry rolls. SW has misfortune of playing two teams on a different level this year. Pulaski will wax them also.

Those Kids from Belfry worked there tails off to get to those State titles games! Winning a Regional Title is a hell of a long way form 0-10. Every HS in the State Hangs Regional title banners! Only a loser like you would write something so stupid!

I doubt every school in the state hangs regional title banners. I can think of a few programs that win the region 9 out of 10 years so I doubt they would hang them.

All I know is when I walk into any GYM in Eastern KY there a banner of some kind to mark past Regional Champions. Some of them go all the way back to the 1930's. Some people that write on here forget that in HS sports the kids are not getting paid to play they are not getting a scholarship either they play an work because they LOVE the game an want to compete! Only a REAL LOSER would call a HS kid that doesn't win a state title a loser!

As far as football goes... We actually display district titles but not regional. Not sure why though!

No really reason to hang a regional banner...if your a state champ or State runner up obviously your a regional champ..that's Prolly why IMO

2005, 2006, 2008 were all years we were regional champs with no State runner up though.

I believe it has to do with the competition in the district. For a long time, the only regional power outside of the district was Breathitt. Sheldon Clark, Prestonsburg (pre 6A alignment) Lawrence (post 6A alignment) and even recently Pike Central has played well enough to run past the other teams in District 7.

Of all the games in the first half of the season this is one that scares me the most. Southwestern gave the Pirates a scare last year and they seem to be much improved over last year. Their stat line against Somerset (obviously down) and score against North Hardin looks scary at first glance:

vs Somerset -
317 Rushing Yards (6 backs)
Doan - 107 yards, 2tds
Gover - 11 carries 81 yards 1 TD
Edwards - 9 carries 76 yards
QB Pruitt- 6-of-6 for 67 yards and rushed for another 33 yards. 2 total TD

Then you look at how they played Corbin and how poorly Somerset has played since that first game and the perception changes a bit. The Redhounds held Doan in check most of the night holding him to ~65 yards. Corbin used balance against the Warriors and only gained about 100 on the ground while they got another buck plus in the air. I think the Pirates Defense is top notch against the run this year and will hold Doan fairly easily. I also think the Pirates stable of bruising backs will have Southwestern looking for answers as the game goes on.

Close early then the Pirates pull away:

Anxious to see what the Pirates do against an opponent with a diverse and well thought out game plan, Henry Clay was extremely athletic but lacked an identity and creativity on offense for attacking us. Harlan Co well it was a simple attack to say the least (No offense). Like all of our fans I was quick to jump to conclusions about how good this team is but in all reality we haven't really been tested on defense yet I don't think. This game being on the road against a diverse offense should be a good barometer for where we are at, also I can't wait to see how we match up against CAK in a couple weeks, being a mid season matchup with both teams having time to find an identity and with the caliber of opponent they will be, should tell us where we stand with this team.

JD of SWHS will run all over them. SWHS wins a close one.

They said the same thing about the kid from Bourbon last year. Ask them how well that worked out for them.

AH, KT, DJ, and XW of BHS and others will run all over the Tribe...Bucs roll 35-14.

Iron Man he had over 100 yards against them last year in his second game as a freshman. Don't see any reason he won't have at least that this year.

Entire defense returns, bigger, stronger, and more experienced. There's a reason.

They beat SWHS by 11 last year at home. SWHS returns pretty much everyone. Adds JD from Somerset and 3 or 4 more quality transfers and a better coaching staff. Should be a good game.

Poor Tackeling and turnovers kept Soutwestern in it...we had like 400 yard rushing against everybody you have coming back...And guess what we got about everybody back from last year and some transfers in to....This time last year our defense was trying to find themselves, and had very poor linebacker play.. Now we got it together...And let's not talk about our OL or Backfield..it's gonna be a game don't get Me wrong...but I'd say we got about 4 or 5 kids on our defense just as fast as the Doan kid...we got faster also over the off season...and we are Extremely Bigger..
#59
Didn't know all that. I changed my mind. You guys keep Doan under 50 yards and win by at least 40.
#60
^ Doan is a burner. He will get some yards. I am looking forward to Friday already.
