I hope we win but this type game can only make us better for district play and help prepare us when it really counts. Can't wait til Friday to see how this very young and inexperienced Black Bear team matches up with Belfry.

This has the makings to be one of the best football games in the state this Friday Night. Both teams are physical, and both like to play "smash mouth football". I look for Belfry to win, but the Black Bears will give the Pirates a scare. I look for the talent, speed, and toughness of Belfry to prevail in the end, but the Bears will hang tough throughout. The Pirates will once again break Granny Bears heart, by a score of 35-24. Good luck to both teams!!!

My heart says Pirates by 2 TD's in this one (Sorry Granny). However after the PCB there are a ton of unanswered questions.

While we saw a Pirate team that was smooth, quick and talented that made few mistakes we are left wondering. Was Henry Clay overconfident, over-hyped, tired from the long ride and game-time delay? This early in the year we don't normally see a Belfry team as mistake free as they were Friday night. The Pirates looked to be in mid-season form on day 1 of the regular season, this is both scary and exciting.

If the Black Bears get up on the Pirates do they have that motivational leader that Sani was (ala down big to Pike Central last year).

Last years team had the identity of a second half team with a kid who never gave up under center. This years team is still finding its identity but if Fridays dominance was any indication of what that identity is going to be then this could be a very, very fun season for Pirate fans.

I'll admit, TOTALLY missed on the Henry Clay/Belfry game, So I'll go with Belfry maybe a tad more competitive, but Belfry has the key, Austin Hatfield.

Don't mean to hijack this thread but how bout Sani Warren's college debut, Impressive!

Agree, Austin is 100% BEAST. The kid takes an army to bring him down most of the time. When they get that stable of backs sorted out around him the Pirates will be dangerous. 03, 04 Dangerous I don't know, but dangerous.

Was super Happy to Sani go out and tear it up for UPike.
