Regardless of the outcome, this type of game will only make Belfry a better football team in the long run. Belfry always seems to play a competitive schedule, and this may be reason why they play so well during the playoffs. With that being said, I like Henry Clay by a td. Good luck to both teams.

Yes they are and they didn't like getting popped...yes they beat us, they had/have athletes, But go back and look at the stats for those years minus the one blowout...we shut there offense down..they had more yard against the bigger city schools they played during the year than against us....my point is, physical play will slow ya down...I mean LC should be a city team cause they don't like hit either..lol...just kiddin man I have to be a smarta$$...lol

I see a lot of talk on speed. You can be the fastest in the world but if you cant catch the ball or have field vision then speed does nothing for you. I've heard they are good at sprinting in the 100m but I have heard nothing on their football talent. Also we have a pretty speedy team our self. We probably have 6 to 7 guys that run 4.7 or better on our defense. That's not too shabby. But we will see.

The top sprinter is the Robinson kid. There is a very strong chance UK offers him soon as a DB. He is going to be one of their top visitors for Saturdays game.

Sounds like a good athlete. Is he affective on the offensive side of the ball? I don't think he will be too much to worry about on the defensive side because we will be in the middle of the field most of the time. I don't expect us to break any huge runs. Maybe a few 20 yarders.

Belfry's plan with be to go straight at Henry Clay. Clock management and holding on to the football will be key. Hatfield and the O line need to dominate and the occasional big play would be bug, but moving the chains like they did in the Bourbon County game could lead to good results for Belfry. Keep the HC athletes on the sidelines and they cannot hurt you. Also, if you kickoff to HC, you better cover.

So glad Belfry don't schedule cupcakes. We may lose this game, but it will get us ready for Bowling Green and thats the ultimate prize! I'd rather lose in August than lose in late November\Early December.

I remember another speedy team from the Lexington area that liked to run their mouths a little bit on Twitter only to be put down. Henry Clay may just be on their way to the top of 6A but they have to start that journey in the "Sea of Red" known as Death Valley. I think the best thing going for Belfry is the fact it's the first game of the season for both teams. I think this game is dependent on whether Hatfield is healthy enough to go two ways. As someone stated before, WRAPPING UP, is the difference in games like this.

Belfry beat them in 2011 at Henry Clay 34-21.

That was also a 3-8 Henry Clay team, one of the worst teams HC has fielded. Their best win was over 5-6 Madison Central team, followed by a 3-8 GRC, and a one win Dunbar.

No denying that whatoever... but the 2005 Belfry team was playing their first game after losing 6 starters each way including arguably the best backfield to ever come out of Eastern Kentucky against arguably the best Henry Clay team of the past decade.

The 2012 game wasn't what the scoreboard appeared. Belfry actually moved the ball at will on HC and had over 400 yards that game, but numerous untimely turnovers and atrocious tackling made that one get lopsided. Those were actually two pretty evenly matched teams that year.

I've never understood the "Senior" number, What does it matter if you have 15 or whatever seniors but only 7 play meaningful minutes? Belfry isn't relying on their "Seniors" (sans Hatfield,Francis, Taylor) to win tonight, last time I checked they are pretty loaded when it comes to underclassman.

That's stupid. It is awesome to have confidence, but I do wish the athletes would let play on the field do the talking and us fans do the trash talking. :-)

On the underclassmen note, yeah we're pretty loaded BUT Henry Clay has one of, if not THE best sophomore QB in the state. I hear they use him in throwing situations some?
