Playfast Wrote:Somerset was very talented these years. I am not sure what team you were watching. Cole did a lot of damage with the screen game. He was fast, and Somerset had some lineman that could move.
John Cole was a great receiver, had a great career at Vandy...Never meant to imply that Skylar or Cory was better, just that while John was surrounded by good players at Somerest there weren't receivers on that team other the John Cole better the Skylar or Cory...

Playfast Wrote:I believe Skylar has over 1,000 yards per season if counting the playoffs. I am not sure how that works. I do not think he would be close to the record from Cole though. I believe Corey led the Jackets in recieving last year, but I could be wrong on that one as well.
After a little research I found that Skylar is pretty dang close to this record. Less than 1,300 yards away. I stand corrected.Corey would be 1,800 yards away because of illness during his freshman year.

Playfast Wrote:I think it is funny all the talk on here, but no one has an idea about next year at this point. I am sure Williamsburg will be alright, and have a really good chance to get back in the title game next year.
Lets Clear Some Things Up
1. Williamsburg would be lucky to have Cameron stay and develop as a QB.
2. Dalton was a very good player.
3. Yes, Andrew is a very talented kid!! Williamsburg would be lucky to have him come back out for football.
4. Skylar would be good playing quarterback, wr, rb, or whatever.
5. Williamsburg's defense will be good next year no matter what they decide to do.
6. Williamsburg is going to be very good, and it is going to be another fun year of football for the big Orange!!
Stop arguing over stuff that does not matter!!!
This is the best post I have ever seen on BGR. Schools and communities would give anything to have what we have, we have excellent
children we have excellent HS coaching we have skill and talent and our parents are just outstanding, It kills me to see what we do to each other, we have all kinds of opportunity to make it even better, lets get in the boat, let our children make our dreams and all our driving and all our coaching worth a life time of memories to us. I am so glad that I am a Jacket to every one involved I can never repay you. We had our first step to BG Sat night it was a giant step thanks to everyone.

I got A better Idea have animal control pick up Gargamel, Bolt and Gut who are the same, take them out to the vet Dr. Culver see if he will put them to sleep.

I disagree....John Coomer, Megargle, Kenny Hughes also shared the ball with John Cole and I would put them up against anything that Williamsburg has. I have seen both play and while Griffith is a good player he is not as good as John Cole.

I believe the post may be in regards to the amount of yards. Williamsburg has two recievers above 3,000 yards playing at the same time as each other. That is very rare!!! Two years of Coles career he had Norman as the other reciever. I do not remember the other ones you are mentioning.

Yes Coomer had 803 yards receiving Cole's senior year, Hughes was the running back that had 1535 yards rushing. Megargle was the TE. JP Hinderlight was on that team too. Coomer, Megargle or Hinderlight would have set records on their own if not for Cole.

Cole was a very special player. Griffith and Shelton can not match his speed.

New jacket I didn't Know you were going to be the head coach next season. I talked with Jerry as of today he doesn't know who will play where, and I will bet he doesn't know you got his job. As of yesterday Andrew made the decision to stick to Basketball and I for one like the kid and respect his decision.

Newjacket Wrote:Don't get me wrong I would love for Skylar to stay at receiver and break all the school receiving records. I just don't believed there is a better option at QB. Skylar was the best middle school QB I have ever seen, but high school is a whole different ball game. I could be wrong though. Like you said, coach will make that choice.
Coach New Jacket his ability is not now nor never was, in question we still call it a football team I THINK it may come to him but, coach Herron has got to make that decision based on whats best for the team. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT COACH Him at quarter back, cost us one of the best receivers in the state and, one of the best defensive backs you could hope for. FOOTBALL 101

I agree that Skyler will be missed if he doesn’t play receiver or d-back.. But I just don’t know who else on the team can handle that pressure of making plays on every snap. There are a lot of young kids that might be able to handle it later on. But if we want to get back to state the only way I see it happening is with Skyler leading us.. This will just allow a young receiver to step in to varsity role rather than a young QB step into a varsity role.. I see this just working better for the team.. Jacket Pride..
