Someone will have to help me on 14th Region. I know Jenkins, and Letcher didn't go. Fleming Neon was region runner up, but the rest of the 14th I don't remember. LCC hasn't yet. Whitesburg made 2 trips to the big dance.

Real Badman Wrote:It's a good idea in theory. Realistically though when you become a new school you seek an identity, not the same ole ones. I'm sure the kids of Mullins would be so happy to see the Johns Creek banners hanging in Pike Central or Millard happy about all the Elkhorn City banners hanging in East Ridge or Dorton happy about Virgie banners in Shelby Valley. It doesn't bold well for community spirit. And that's the kind of attitude that holds many back, IMO. You have to have pride in your school's history. Keep in mind, even though those may be looked at as "other" schools, in most cases, they consolidated far enough back, many of the kids have no memories if the other schools. So it should be still represented. Along the lines of "this is our history, this is what made us who we are NOW".

Estill County has never been to the sweet 16, however the old Irvine High School has been.
