I'm not a jacket fan I just went to the game expecting a good high school football game. With that said I've watched them play 3 times this year and they didn't play their best ball, but the problem was they just didn't convert when needed. I left around the 3rd quarter and they had moved the ball well, moving inside the redzone 3 times, but turned the ball over on downs.

55 will like this. I had Wburg play Mayfield's schedule, on Calpreps project a matchup.
They finished the regular season 4-6, beating Fort Campbell, Marshall, and both Fulton teams.

Griffith also wasn't at full strength that game, that's why I think this game really has potential to get ugly with him on the sidelines. IMO Mayfield is already the better team, and now Williamsburg will be without their best threat to move the chains.

A running clock wouldn't surprise me either However I just can't believe Mayfield is not better than that.

I was at the game to watch south laurel and wayne and saw the north willimasburg game also since i heard how good williamsburg was from a bunch of friends. it was also on labor day and i didnt have to work and went with some friends from rockcastle. the griffin kid did play and it seemed north had no problem with them. i looked up stats from khsaa and it was this.
north had over 304 rushing
williamsburg had 64
the griffing kid had 4 catches and 7 tackles so he did play
north just controlled the ball and neve gave it to williamsburg
williamsburg is good though but north was just better imo and did a good job of running the ball at them

I'm sorry did I say he didn't play? Learn to read. I never took anything away from North. I acually like the Jaguars program better than the burg's. North had an excellent offensive gameplan and Williamsburg had no answer for it. But, I have close ties to both programs and I can assure you Skylar wasn't at full strength for the North Laurel game.

I'm not sensitive at all. I just like to make sure everyone knows I'm right and they're wrong....haha Not sure why you threw that Go Mayfield out, I'm not a jacket fan and predicted a big Cardinal win....

Does this sound eerily similar or what?
This year Mayfield is back in the state championship for the west side, just like last year.
This year Mayfield will be playing another team from the east that has never been there.
Last year Mayfield played the top scoring team in the state.
This year Mayfield will be playing the #2 scoring team in the state.
Last year Mayfield played a team that also wears black and red.
This year Mayfield will play a team that will wear black and orange.
Last year Mayfield played a pretty much one dimensional (run) team.
This year Mayfield will play a pretty much one dimensional (pass) team.

I am not one to make excuses, I have never addressed that situation before however this is my evualuation. First at that time North Laurel had a very, very good football team' We were above average but not real good, we played without 4 players who were not elgible they have developed into outstanding players ,we were just not a outstanding football team period. next without the 4 players we moved the ball on them early on, but. they got up on us 14 to 7, the next series we moved the football down inside the 5 yard line where it was 1st goal, at that point the refs spotted blood on Daltons hand he by rules had to come out for one play, on that play we fumbeled the shot gun snap resulting in NL take over which hurt. However we played well and exchanged the football back and forth, Then we had held them deep and it was 3rd and4 on about the 26 and the worst thing you can count on happened. we were offsides and it let them out of the hole. since that time the 4 boys who are now starters have made us a different team and NL lost some players due to injuries that were outstanding take my word for it North Laurel is very good. I don't think those situations would have made a difference in WorL but it sure would have been a different game.

If we can't play with 1 or 2 0r 3 players out we don't deserve to play in this game in the first place. If you do upset Williamsburg it won't be because we have injuries.

Good post and I may ruffle some feathers here but in 2011 Mayfield leaned on Jonathan too much, both offensively and defensively, coach learned his lesson there and kept Stuart out when he needed to be out.

Williamsburg fans, what happened in those 2 games?
I will tell you what happen in the north laurel game.We play 1 quarter before lightning storm hit,48hrs later Nortth laurel big boys was rested an ready to play,I believe if we had play 4qtr in one day we would have beaten them.
nicker:
Wayne county game was looking pretty with 1.02 to go before halftime 13-06.we threw an int an Wayne score as time ran out before halftime making it 20-06. 2nd half we score on first drive making the score 20-13 we stop Wayne on their first drive.we get the ball back 1st play throw a int 4plays later TD Wayne co 28-13 we get the ball back throw another int 7 play later TD Wayne 35-13 we get the ball back and 2 more int Wayne score late in the game making it 41-13 WAYNE COUNTY HAS MY RESPECTS
WE have done what you are suppose to do play good teams WAYNE PLAYING FOR 3A CHAMPIONSHIP thank you Wayne,9 game winning streak now mayfield try an stop us from making it 10 wins in a roe :Cheerlead

There you go...I sure am glad Williamsburg didn't play Mayfields schedule and really, really glad we didn't have Calpreps project a matchup decide the outcome.

Simply put, north laurel and Wayne were better teams then us when we played them. There were factors that made the scores more lopsided then it should have been, but they would have won regardless. Ours hearts weren't in the north game after what happened the night before. Skylar was physically healthy, but not mentally. In the Wayne game our QB was hurt and probably should have been taken out but he fought through it. The problem was he couldn't plant his foot to make a throw and all his balls were under thrown. We would have still lost those games but the scores are misleading

Way to be SUR, keep bringing it. You get my vote for fan of the year. I've got no horse in this race and regardless of the outcome I'm a Burg fan thanks to you. Your loyalty and take no prisoners approach is contagious!
Mayfield could be Goliath, and Williamsburg, David?
