Yep! I'm a big fan of traditional WINNERS. Boyle Co, Lex Cath, Cov Cath, Saint X, Trinity and FT Highlands. Oh yeah, my alma mater too Cincy Moeller.

Highlands has been head and shoulders better than the other teams in 4A last couple of years. JC may be the second best team in 4A and get blasted. But the Eagles will show up and make Highlands earn it.

Very reasonable analysis.

Second best? What? I think that title belongs to either Boyle Co, Cov Cath, Lex Cath or Collins out west. Second best are usualy the loser of the championship game or someone who constantly makes it to the state semis, ie those teams I mentioned.

If Johnson Central was not in the same Region as Highlands. There would be less talk of how they could not compete. What I am getting at is the championship had been either played at JCHS or Highlands. Not every year but probably 4 or 5.

Three of the top teams are from your region- Fort Thomas, CovCath, and Johnson Central. However, there are clearly no others. I feel sure tomcatfan72000 wasn't including Ashland in his list of "top teams". Boyle County, LexCath, and Collins are not weaklings. All three would likely lose to Fort Thomas. But they would have a decent shot at the other two from your region.

Since Johnson Central is located east of Winchester, it will never get much statewide recognition until it actually wins something. Losing to a northern Kentucky school every year in the region won't get you any respect.

The Johnson Central fans, though extremely vocal and confident, add nothing valid to the conversation when they have no real trophies. Win, then you can blow all you want. And, then, you will have some credibility.

Other than this year I would've put Ashland up against any team outside of the top 3 Ashland had as much of claim to 4 or 5 as any of those other teams. Remember last year a injured and decimated Ashland team hung with the mighty bluebirds for a half. Without out top 2 running backs and with out top receiver playing tailback and our 2nd wide receiver just coming back and not 100 percent. If not for those injures that resulted in the belfry game I believe the birds would've been in for 4 quarters if competitive football. But most schools outside of NKY and Louisville cannot deal with that significant amount of injuries and still compete. Point is lets say for arguments sake that lex Cath and Boyle were better. That still makes Ashland number 6 and 4 of the top 6 in one region. And I believe Ashland belongs at 4 minus the couple of years from lex Cath

You are very wrong, JC gets a lot of respect from HHS fans. Several years HHS knew JC was the main obstacle between them and a state title and it looks like it might be this year too. they might run a different style of football then NKY, and we might find it boring, but they do it well and put up a better fight then most 4A teams have over last 7-8 years.

Not to be a smart alleck but I find your offense a tad boring....I love to watch the belly read.....It is an art form when you find a QB that can execute it to perfection...It's kinda like watching a baseball game to me...Most people would rather watch an offensive outpouring, but I don't get all excited about the long ball stuff, I would rather watch a pitcher do his magic and watch small ball strategy...That's just me....

Ah sstack, Rex Harrison is just trying to get a rise. That's how most liberals are, they just want to be noticed.....

Think John McCain here.

I'll give you that. The 1989 HHS championship team in the Tom Duffy era used a triple option attack that was great to watch with Chris Gallichio at QB. Oldham County in 2003 had an incredible option attack. In the regular season game for first place in the district they had Highlands on the ropes and suddenly went away from their game plan. Highlands ended up coming back and winning, but barely. Never figured out why they changed tactics in that game. One of the kids, I believe the main back that was running all over Highlands, got hurt before the rematch in the playoffs and Oldham never was much of a factor after that. It's a lot of fun to watch, but works best with something of a passing threat.

You earn respect by winning and not by blowing about what you might do. Beat Fort Thomas one time and you will get some respect. Until then, you have earned nothing from those outside your district.

You win the maroon glasses award. Was there a full moon when you got blitzed by Fort Thomas last year? If so, maybe that is why you got thumped. Excuses are for losers. Ashland has a decent program. No more and no less. It is not a state power in Class 4A. It hasn't been a state power for a long time. It may have been a factor a goodly number of years ago but, then, so was Louisville Flaget.

Listen troll! I think I can speak for most of the people in the Johnson Central fan base , coachs and players. We don't need or want your respect. We respect one another. We are a football family. We don't care what you or anyone else thinks. I will say this fourm kills time till the next weeks game. I will say we will stick up for are own. Lions do not fear the opinions Of sheep!

When did I say Ashland was a state power. I said they a injured Ashland team missing 3 of there best offensive players and a 4th playing out of position kept it close for a half and actually led until the final minutes of the half. If you don't think having your top 2 running backs and your top 2 receivers wouldn't have allowed Ashland to add on another td then and keep the ball out of highlands hands and keep the defense fresh then you were watching a different game than I. I do believe highlands would have still won the game. But they would have had to keep there starters In all 4 quarters.

I disagree. Fort Thomas would have merely turned up the heat a notch. The margin would have been the same.

So you mean to tell me the great almighty's weren't taking there oppenent seriously? I hope you aren't really a fan an instead just a front running troll. Cause every True highlands fan I know complimented the tomcats determination and play in that first half. They never said the birds took a half off and didn't play seriously.
