The increased playing time for young kids will benefit Whitley at some point.Pulaski starts 2 freshmen and 4 sophomores on offense and about the same on defense, so I guess its just a matter of mixing them in with quality upper classmen as long as your young guys are talented.

Went from 30+ down to 9 or 10.

Never been near 30. Only 21 as 8th graders.
It's a battle to keep kids out. 54 were dressed midway through season and mid to upper 40's only 2-3 weeks ago. When FR and JV schedule ends a lot will not show back up.
Pulaski only has 44 on roster. Boyle dressed 49 and Harlan Co dressed 48 but has 64 0n roster so they have lost 16 players since beginning of year.

They need to keep more than that per class, especially in the younger grades, if they are going to be competitive year in and year out in 5A football.
Whitley's district is about as down this year as it's going to get. I would expect Letcher Central and Perry Central to continue improving if their coaching situations remain stable, and I can't see Harlan Co. dropping off, so it's not going to get any easier for the Colonels.

If you can keep 15 per class thats pretty good numbers for the future. Of the 44 or so that Pulaski has on the roster 38 of them play at some point on Friday nights.
