Just don't start rooting for us 64. You already jinxed Williamsburg.

Both teams have an underrated defense. Mayfield's receivers are also vastly underrated in comparison to Caldwell's wrs. BUT Caldwell deserves more love on the line. Both of these teams have excellent lines. Caldwell has a much better RB than Mills (not a dig on Mills) The best wr on the field will be Jackson for Mayfield. This game is actually much closer on paper than some realize. Guhy is still as solid as ever but Sindelar has been lights out this year. If he shows up big Caldwell will win. If Mayfield can run the ball with consistent success they will win. Big questions are is Mayfield as good as they were last year? Is Caldwell better than they were last year?

I'm take Maywell in a 28-28 tie. The Tiginals are looking good this year.

The answers are probably No and Yes which should make this an excellent matchup. I look for this game to come down to turnovers. Either team can blow the other out if they make a lot of mistakes to exploit. This is the biggest (small school) game in the state this year!!!!

Joey, just say Mayfield. You can't lose there. We will come out of this one still undefeated. I have done my research. I feel we will win. If Caldwell plays as good as they have so far offensively, it could be close. If they don't they will get blown out again.
#35
No blow out this year. Pick Caldwell County.

You only got 4 more days to be singing that killer. Then you will be on to talking about the playoffs.

Ahhhh, The Playoffs. Seems like so far away, especially with me being out here in my seat at Tiger Stadium all week, waiting for The Game to start. Then, on to the playoffs and our trophy.:1:

You gotta leave that seat soon. It is supposed to rain 2 days this week.
#39
Mayfield by a touchdown.

Ok, bro. just for you.
The Mayfield-Caldwell County game will be a high scoring affair, I believe.

Sindelar and his receivers had a hard time getting their timing down early in the season, but now they are going out on the field to just play catch. At least that is what it looks like to me. Both teams have great offenses. Where the game will be won is on defense. Who gets that timely takeaway, that "step in front of the receiver" INT, causes a fumble. That will be where the game is won. All year long everybody has said that defense is Caldwell's weakness, IMHO not the truth. My Tigers simply play a "bend, but don't break"-style of defense, that gets stronger as they get backed up.
Sindelar to Cain or Sindelar to Pepper are both deadly combos that will open up the field for Jaylen Boyd to run free. Also, unlike last year, when Elijah Sindelar, again IMHO, wilted under the pressure that Mayfield put on him, will not check down and throw the ball away or pull the ball down and use his athelticism to run for a 1st down or more.

The kicking game at Caldwell County is HIGHLY under-rated. Brett Seymore is the best kicker to pass through Tiger Stadium in the Blue and Gold. He is money inside of 51 yards, and has not missed an extra point in some time. Great kid too.

The defense has more names than I can mention. Drake VanHooser and Landon Burns are the leaders of the Tiger defense, but you can't go without mentioning Austin Palmer or the only iron man on the team, Dee Cain.

Injuries have hit Caldwell County the last 2 weeks, and none of the players injured in the last 2 weeks should be in uniform Friday night.

IMHO, penalties and even a single turnover could be the difference in the game in Princeton this Friday.

One more thing, get there early to get a seat. I sit in the middle top section, right around the 45 yard line on the schoolhouse side of the field. Come up and see me. I should be there by 5:30, if not earlier. Would love to meet any of you guys!
#45
Killer, we intend to break that defense. I keep hearing this about your line. I saw how our line handled them last year. We got the entire line back and they have 14 more games of experience under their belts. They are a year older, bigger and stronger.
#46
Thanks dreamer...
#47
Oh btw...
#48
Ya. 55. I think we maybe the under dogs in this one ... their line is big.. not sure how sure footed they are but u know how we handle bigger lines if big is all they are look out sindelar... but foreal theyve got us on paper... dreamer is right.. its going to depend on if our secondary is up to the challenge.. if we can stop them or come up with some int. Then it could be the difference in the game .. im not sure how balanced of a offence they have . But they will be forced to throw ... and once the passin game starts to fold its lights out kitty cats.. mayfield is a little more balanced but can grab quick yards in the air if pressured.. yellow flags and cough ups are deff going to tell the tape..
Just cant vote against my cards although if they dont get off the buss it could be close and ugly.. assuming they are on fire it could be a 3-4 td game..
Mayfield. 45

I think they re fully aware of the team the Tigers have. I don't think they will be flat.

I have been looking forward to this game all year for some reason, I guess its cause all the Tiger faithful have been saying how last year just wasn't the same Tiger team they have been watching. I think Mayfield is at full strength, we have had some bumps and bruises but I think all the boys are healthy, maybe somebody can fill me in on who, if any can't play in this game.

There seem to be several players go down last Friday night for the Cardinals. I was wondering also if everyone was healthy?

Mayfield/Caldwell Co Comparison

I have been doing some research in preparation for this week’s big small school game. Everyone knows Mayfield is ranked #1 in the ap polls for 1a and Caldwell is #1 in the 2a polls. They are both 9-0. They both operate from the spread look on offense. They both have really good quarterbacks. They both have a wealth of receivers. I wished they would turn in stats to KHSAA so I could use some of them. Mayfield has averaged a score of 45-18 per game. Caldwell has averaged a score of 51-19 per game. I checked several different resources to break their scheduling down even further. This is what I came up with:

First by the AP rankings.
Mayfield has beaten #7 in 6a, #9 in 3a, #11 in 2a, #11 in 5a and #3 in 1a.
Caldwell Co has beaten #11 in 2a.

These are some other things that stood out to me. Caldwell played Christian Co. They beat Christian by 23 points. Graves Co beat this same team by 17 points. Mayfield beat Graves Co by 28 points. Caldwell played Murray and beat them by 29 points. Mayfield beat Murray by 10 points. Caldwell beat Fort Campbell by 13 points. Mayfield beat Fort Campbell by 16 points.

The last thing I did was play the matchup game on Calpreps. It indicated that Mayfield would win on a neutral field by a score of 38-34

On the injury front we have some concerns. Not sure how much of a concern though. Jon Hayden would be first because his may be the most severe. He suffered a concussion or similar event against Russellville. I don't know his status this week. Next would be Lane Kennemore and Cole Kendall. They both suffered some type of shoulder injury. I don't know if they will be in this week or not. It may just be a stinger type thing and they just need a day or two off.
#55
Caldwell County is fairly well now. We lost OLineman Tyler Beavers in the Murray game and he is not coming back until at least week 4 of the playoffs, and Chandler Blackburn, a linebacker, that broke his arm versus Murray, and will be back in time for the regional Championship. No real walking wounded.
I heard through a "little birdie" that your main WR, Jackson's knee, may be a little hurt this week.
#56
Mayfield by 3. Game is very evenly matched and will come down to a turnover or a big special teams play. Mayfield has been to the wars and understands how to play in big games.
#57
I think Deon will be fine. He tweaked it on the int return in first half. He came off for a little while and then went back in and scored a td and had another big catch. It didn't look like he was hurting then.
#58
Now that there are other 6A schools close by, why not consolidate with Graves County and make yourself a state power in big boy football?

DreamKiller would cause mysonis55 move an go to Russellville or Fulton city :biglmao:

He said the C word dont think Mayfield is interested in that. Wouldnt mind playing up a couple classes but giving up the Mayfield tradition dont think it would fly well with all our fans.
