Highlands beat them by 40 points! SK will have their best team ever this year and will crush Collions thye return 15 starters. Can't wait to go to Collions and watch SK take care of business. But ST X scrimmage is first! Go Pioneers!

Collins returns all but 4 players from last season. Sounds like it should be a great game with SK to start out the season.

Highlands beat Collions and shut them out. Ryle scored twice on Highlands last year. SK beat Ryle 20 to 0. SK returns 7 startsers on offense and 8 on defense. SK will be going full throttle August 23!

Just saw where Ashlands Quinton Baker went to VTO underclassman in Va and came out with 31 vertical jump-standing and was laser clocked at 4.48. He got invited to attend the rivals top camp in Texas next week

Highlands did not hold them under two TD's, they shut them out. Collins put up big numbers against a very poor schedule. I know UK#1 tends to blow a lot of smoke at times, but I think he is right on this one. SK will come in to town and lay a smake down on Collins. I do not expect this to be a close game at all! It is a very smart move for Collins to schedule this game though, the rest of the schedule will do nothing to help them get ready for the playoffs and the east side of the bracket.

Baker from Ashland, and Harris from Mad. Southern.

Green from Highlands was 400 meter state champion. He also ran in the 200 at state. Kid has speed, endurance and good size. He will give DBs a fit.

I wouldn't call it blowing smoke, I'd call it starting forest fires....... Looking forward to this game, not only because it starts the season but I think should be a good one.

I would be interested in that too. I know he is a speedster on the basketball court. He is decent sized for a RB too. 5'11'' and right at 200. Will only be a sophomore this year.

Not bad. Did they happen to say whether it was hand timed or laser timed?

Harris and Baker have legitimate laser times so I am going with them. Having hand timed kids at track meets and then compared it to actual times I can say that there is a huge difference.Hand times are always faster. Laser time is clearly more acurate.

Explain laser timed. What does it consist of?

The clock is started and stopped by the body breaking the plane of a beam of light at the beginning and end of a 40 yard sprint. A few ways of doing this, including wearing sensors on the shoe, and also with the use of video monitors (like those you see at the state track meet). It takes the user error out of the 40 timing, but does have its limitations.

Baker has always been a speed demon. I've played against him, definitely the fastest sophomore in the state

4.48 40 on laser @ VTO combine June 30th in Virginia

Baker is faster than King, it is not even close.

Lawrence County has a new kid, just a freshman, his name is Timmy Dalton #11. I don't know if he is as fast as any of the people who you are talking about on this thread,, or if he has ever been on a track or had a 40 time recorded in his life, but the kid is fast. When I say fast I saw him out run kids who had a head start of 5 to 10 yards on a kick return who were trying to get an angle on him. He separated from every player on the field and was in the lead by 20 when we broke the endzone. The funny thing is that when this kid runs it don't look like he is even running, it looks like he is jogging. I would love to see what speed he has when he really goes hard and fast as he can.

Hughes, McCracken Co Mustangs QB
Was listening to their game with Tilghman Saturday night and radio guys mentioned that Hughes was fast clocked guy at some UK camp of over 300 kids. Cats Pause has mentioned this guy as well so I am going to go on limb and say he is likely the fastest QB in the state

Evan Jaggers at Green Co. Little dude ran a 11:17, finished 3rd in Class A State meet last spring. Kid can fly and is STRONG. Wished he played somewhere else so he could see some open holes.
