Avery Bullock Wrote:To all those who doubt Williamsburg's ability to go deep this year, consider this:
The Jacket starters have not been on the field as much as most starters in 1A this year. Some may say this is a disadvantage but I disagree. It's an advantage because the Jacket starters are more rested and less beaten up than other kids. Playing 3 or 4 quarters for 10 games has a tendency to wear down even the toughest player.
Williamsburg's starters have been able to get their work done in a quarter or two for most of the season, then turn the game over to the second team. Plus, they'll have all their kids healthy by the first round of the playoffs, notably Chris Helton will return to the line.
Williamsburg's best effort has yet to be seen. There is much more to this team than anyone knows. Herron has lots of weapons that he hasn't had to show yet.
Get ready!
Yawn! So against pretty mediocre Onieda your coach decided to take the loss instead of revealing all of yalls weapons. Yeah ok! I believe that. The one team that beat yall with your incredibly weak schedule Mayfield would have abused. Hell we have abused teams that would have abused them. You have no idea how much I am hoping yall make it to BG. Which ever West team gets there n i honestly think Mayfield should but one or two major injuries can derail that we learned that lesson last year will sleep walk past Williamsburg

Avery, is that the best yall got, Oh he mentioned three teams. Well the idea is du**a**, wburg will most likely not make it to BG. I really dont care which one it is other than I hope it's Hazard. Write it down, post it on your stupid little board at school, I dont care.:please:

Fairview is explosive! But from what I saw, they are a one trick pony. They run and have a few trick pass plays, that's about it. Their drives were generally as follows: +2, -3, 75 for a td. Or on 4th and 17 bust one loose. Against Raceland, it came in bursts. I think against a fast defense like Mayfield or Beechwood they will slow down eminsley. That's if they can get past Raceland a 2nd time. They have trouble sustaining drives. Against a weak schedule, it's easy to put up those kinds of numbers. Against Raceland, they went for 255, which is almost 150 yards below their average. Their defense is a litte suspect as well. They have given up some points to some teams that really shouldn't have scored on them. Their defense plays better with a lead. Once they get up a few scores, they will pretty much let their LBs do what they please.
I think the deeper they go into the playoffs, the faster the defenses will get and the more consistent they will have to be, in putting some drives together. Their biggest weakness offensively is at the quarter back position. He's young and inexperienced.
Raceland's strength is balance. They throw the ball well and run the ball well. Their defense is a little stronger across the board than Fairview is, I think both teams are stronger than Williamsburg across the board. As is Hazard and though I won't completely count Pikeville out, I don't think they can beat Raceland or Fairview this year, just too much youth and inexperience.

sur 64 & avery, look at the post from Bronson. That is the way you post and explain why you think your team will be the team to beat. He did not disrespect the other teams, he simply layed out the formula for which he thinks his team will win. That is the way people should post on here. The signs and other things are just distractions as to the fact that you cannot figure out a way to make a legitamate arguement. And for God's sake, the threatening of other teams kids shouldn't even enter the mind as was done earlier.

Dude you guys are playing great but if you guy cant realize that those numbers are from playing one of the weakest out of district schedules i have ever seen then when you guys did play the one team in your district it was by far not the same offensive juggernaut numbers. I can look at Hazards schedule and tell you ur offensive stats would be cut down by 30percent. I look at Beechwoods schedule and ur offensive stats would drop by 35 percent the same for Frankfort. If you played Mayfields schedule you would have started district play with at least 4 maybe 5 losses. Now dont get me wrong you are doing what you are supposed to.do and blowing the crap teams you play up buy you guys are so untested it is not even funny if yall get to BG and yall could cause Hazard is banged up i bet yall dont get 150 yards rushing against Beechwood Frankfort or Mayfield. Heck against Beechwood or Mayfields great linebackers yall may not even get a 100.

Though Raceland has not been tested quite like Beechwood, Mayfield, Frankfort, or Hazard, i feel that they have the 2nd toughest schedule in the eastern bracket, behind hazard. Pikeville plays a fair schedule as well. But i do feel Raceland has been tested with games against Ashland, Fairview, a solid lawrence co offense and a portsmouth west team that should have been much more competitive, but obviously was WAY over hyped. Racelands only 2 losses were self inflicted by turnovers. If Raceland controls the football, I honestly believe they can play with anyone in class A, not necisarily(sp) win, but be competitive, because of their balance o offense and the defense creates turnovers. Not saying they are a THE. Best in the state or even the region, just stating that they can and will be shocking some people IF, and thats a big if from what i can see, atleast in big games, they can control the football and the team as a whole can put good teams away.

Wow you have a comprehension problem. Of course our district is weak almost all of the 1a districts are. Let me break it down for you they played such a weak schedule out of district they had to get into 1a district play to play a decent team. Our out of district schedule was much harder and involves playing 5 teams ranked in the top 10 in their class one a 5a district champion and another 5a team ranked in the top 10 overall in the state. So if you cant understand that well anyone who thinks Owen County could beat Mayfield let alone win state in 2a is dreaming anyway

Pikeville's schedule was pretty filthy this year. Belfry, Swain Co. (NC state 1AA champs), etc. I think the two teams' schedules were pretty even. Also, although Pikeville IS young, they've gained a ton of experience this year while also facing injury problems that SEEM to be finally letting up. They will be a tough out in the playoffs. But I'm not knocking Raceland's schedule at all, to be clear.

If and when Raceland and Pikeville meet in the second round, I expect that it will be a much closer game than it was the first time around.

I expect a much more competitive game as well. But I still think Raceland's experience will get the better of them. Not to mention, their defense seemed like they were on a mission from god last week against Paintsville. I know Paintsville is in a bit of a downward slump, but the Rams defense looked was better than I'd seen from them all year. The offense will be at 100% as far as health goes, so that will make a big difference as well. But, in years past we have seen it time and time again, a Pikeville, Hazard, Beechwood, or NewCath team finish the regular season 5-5, then end up 10-5 or 9-6 with a state finals appearance or championship. So like i mentioned, I'll never completely count them or Hazard out. EVER.
As for their schedule, that is what I was trying to say in the post. I guess the word "fair" wasn't the best choice. With Belfry and the NC team, I'd say their schedule may be even a little tougher than Raceland's. I didn't even think to look and see how good, Swain County was. But I just checked maxpreps and they are 10-0. So it looks like they played a team about like Ashland and Belfry is Belfry. I think both of these teams would beat Fairview (speaking of belfry/swain county)...so Id say Pikeville schedule is tougher. Raceland, much like Williamsburg is still looking for that signature win. They have beaten the teams that they should have, and to be honest, I think they SHOULD have beat Ashland and Fairview. Turnovers both lost us those games. Ashland scoring 21 points 3 Raceland turnovers in Ashland's redzone and losing 2 turnovers in Fairview territory. If those turnovers, are touchdowns, they are COMPLETELY different ball games.
