For to stick with the mountain team, I don't think the rebels are as good as they have been in years past WC is a very soils team an can pull this out for the mountains. WC 21 BC 17

Whitley did rush for 617 yards last week against Letcher.
And while that is Letcher, thats still pretty impressive considering it could have been 800+.
#39
If both teams play for the win it should be a good game. If Boyle gets a two or three touchdown lead I look for Whitley to set its starters. Then it will get ugly.
#40
coach french will have his rebels ready to rumble. boyle county 42-21.

Boyle has unfinished. GO REBELS.

Hows the vistors seating ?
#42
They have a nice section for visitors....even have concessions and restrooms on that side of the field......a great place to play.

The visitors stands arent huge, but it puts you right up on the players, and theres no crappy track around our field, so you feel like your right on top of the action.

I think you will enjoy it, Whitley has changed so much since i went there and it is just a beautiful campus now. Looks somewhat like a small college campus...

Jack Lambert Wrote:I'm looking forward to this game sounds like it will be a great atmosphere for football.i really enjoy going to eastern KY to watch Boyle play football.i have pleasent memories of every where Boyle has played in that part of the state other than Johnson Central.i really enjoyed the games with Bell co.Eastern Ky has some of the best fans in the state, they're not arrogant like alot of the places i've been across the state, and i'm sure Whitley will have some great fans to.

What he really meant to say is that Highlands, Lex Cath, Trinity, Saint X and all the teams that put a beating on Boyle Co. Jack is not too fond of.

We dont play trinity or st x. And we have a pretty good record with to other two.

Posts like this is why i have ID--TS like you on my ignore list.for the record Boyle has never played Trinity or St X to my knowledge.and we've beat Lex cath a whole lot more times than they've beat us.as far as Highlands goes at least we've beat'em twice, and handed them the worst loss they've ever had in a state title game.as far as i know Lex Cath has never beat any of the 3 teams i just mentioned,so until you beat somebody keep your trap shut.

Really don't know much about Boyle football, do you? :Sad04:

Boyle County has beat highlands in the past before.. they were really unbeatable under head coach Chuck smith, I know pretty good alot about boyle county! all you need to know is Boyle county is Boyle County! It is what it is!

Now whitley county is pretty good team this year. i mean they are off and on team.. if they play like they did against us Bell County it will be a heck of battle but if they show up and play like they did at harlan county there gonna get whipped from the start.. After saying all this i am going with.....

Boyle County 35

Whitley County 21

I find that people are somewhat misninformed before they post.

Boyle County is a top 10 program in the state IMO.

I dont care if Boyle is having a down year, theyd still be one of if not the best team in the mountains, and ill take a win over a powerhouse like that anyday.

IMHO, I think youll see both teams playing all there guys and being in for the majority of the game unless the game isnt as close as i think it will be.
#52
Whitley's defense will be the difference in this game. IF they can hold the recently very balanced Boyle offense in check, it'll be close. But i don't see that happening, Boyle's offense is on fire lately. And i dont see Whitley putting up more than around 21 points. Maybe 28 if they hit a couple of big plays and Boyle's D gets tired late.

I tend to agree with you. I was thinking more about the Boyle County: (35-42) Whitley County(14-21).

Whitley County loves to run the ball which will eat alot of clock. Boyle County will stop them but will give a few scores. It could be a close game but I don't believe it will be within two touchdowns.

I have liked when Whitley has really spread out the option this year.
When put in a shotgun it tends to make the field much larger for the option, and as long as the defense isnt faster than the offense it works.
Its definitely not a record breaking year for any one player at Whitley, but thats a good thing IMO. 4 Backs with between 450-800 yards.

I don't think Boyle started the year as a better team than they were last year. However, I do think playing the schedule they play with the level of talent they face has really brought this team to a level they couldn't have reached otherwise. I think since Bolin is out that the region is actually Boyle's to lose. I have to think they are the favorite now, but they better not underestimate Russell Co, Knox Central, or even Lex Cath without Bolin. I don't know which has surprised me more, how much better Boyle is playing or how well Lex Cath has played without Bolin. This will be the best region for football fans watching the playoffs this year and any one of the four teams could win region.

Whitley Co is a good team, but I think Boyle will win in a close one. I think Whitley will have trouble running against the Boyle Def. But Whitley's Def is better than you might think. Should be a good game. This may be a low scoring game.
