You know, if I ever needed support from a government official because of a situation where I didn't perform well, I would hope and pray it wouldn't be Al Gore! Altitude sickness??!! Is he for real?? If anything, it would be lack of oxygen due to global warming.

I am a democrat. I would say that Romney won the debate. However, it does not matter for me or anyone else on this board. The state of Kentucky has already been decided. We will send our six electoral votes to Romney.

Well, I am a concerned American citizen. My husband thinks I'm quite the conservative; my daughter thinks I'm a tree hugging liberal. They both refer to me as a republicrat.
I does matter to me who wins this election. While I'm not a straight levered voter, I do not think our current president is the right choice for my country. I'm not sure Romney is going to be great either; however, I'm to the point where I believe anything different would be an improvement.

I am thankful that you are concerned: I was just pointing out about the electorial college. I think you are what most Kentuckians are...somewhere in the middle.
I think it is interesting we typically vote Republican in Presidential elections while we vote Democrat governors and legislators...Kentucky Monthly had article to explain this phenomeon.

I consider Fox News a reputable and fair news site, but here are a few more to get you started. I agree with what TRT said, they are all over the place and haven't "settled" yet, but I do believe the trend is that the gap is narrowing.

Quote:Yesterday, Rasmussen Reports released a swing state or battleground state poll that had President Obama ahead by 6% in those states collectively. Obama was at 51% compared to 45% for Romney in the swing states. Third party candidates were at 2% which is more support than they have in the national Rasmussen presidential poll. Undecided voters are at 3% in the swing states which is identical to their level found in the national Rasmussen presidential poll. Swing states or battleground states combine total 146 Electoral votes and include the states of Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin. Rasmussen Reports released their swing states poll yesterday, Thursday, October 4, 2012.

I see what you did there, but no sorry I will be voting for Romney.
In all seriousness after the debate I think that Romney has it in the bag.
Not to mention, look at the numbers of previous presidents.
Of the 42 men who served as president before the current incumbent, only 15 won two consecutive elections.
Among the others, 5 died during their first terms.
7 incumbents declined to run again.
5 tried but failed to win their partyâs nomination.
10 won the nomination but lost their bids for reelection.
3 former presidents (Martin Van Buren, Millard Fillmore, and Theodore Roosevelt) -If you want to count these.. Attempted to make comebacks and roared out of retirement as third-party candidates.
All three failed miserably winning only 27 percent or less of the popular vote.

Yes, how would I be able to quote them if I didn't? The fact is, since the debate, he's up in 5 out of the 6 polls shown above.

No, the truth is that the voters are even dumber than we thought. Many seem to prefer "cool" over competent. But, we should remember that they are products of the public school system since most all of them attended school for three of four years at least.

You are seriously in denial. Its amazing to watch you fall apart.
As I said, SINCE the debates, people have switched support to Romney... including now, Colorado where Romney enjoys an 8 point bounce. He leads in 5 of the 6 other polls sited since the debate. So yes, it does tell me something. Romney is leading in several key states since his amazing performance and dominating victory in the debate. It also tells me that you now don't trust the polls. Interesting.
National polling if useless. We are a federalist nation where states are the voting force. Thus, if Romney pulls off virginia, nc, florida, and ohio... he gets his pick of new hampshire, iowa, colorado(where he's leading by 3 points as of today), or nevada.... only needing one to hit 270. As I said, I believe obama will pull it off.... but I'm definately much more optimistic now.
And based upon what you said about your investments, and your amazing construction job, I would venture to bet that you're a huge supporter of raising taxes on yourself. And to be clear, the 43k you made @ 15% taxation will be moved upwards to 30-40%, and your income tax rate will most likely rise from 35% to 40%. If you're such a supporter of higher taxes and trickle down government.... I'm sure you paid more than what your 1040 called for huh? Romney did. Obama, not so much.

Lie 1 = leading in 3 out of 6 is better than 3 out of 5.
Lie 2 = There's not 6 polls on the links posted. In fact, there's 4 on one, 5 on the others. If you are such a 'reader' as you pretend to be, you'll see rather quickly the 6th poll you quote, is an average.
Lie 3 = He is not leading in more polls now than before on the links posted. They're exactly the same. The only difference between now and then, you finally opened your eyes and saw how the most popular polling site on the planet... actually works. Its called the Poll of Polls. And those of us who know polling, look at trends for our answers... not individual numbers.
Whats your 4th lie gonna be? Obama's policies have helped you? We already know thats not the case... in your words, "I can't really tell a difference in Obama and Bush..." But you're better off. :Shaking:
